We were seated almost immediately as a group of 9 on a Saturday night, the food was fine but what was extraordinary was our service, our waitress took extra care to make our experience with three small children enjoyable going out of her way to make extra effort for them and us.Kid-friendliness: The waitress we experienced was so kind and accommodating to our children, we chose to order off of the adult menu for them and she kindly without asking separated their meal on to individual plates for them.

So one of the things I love about The Riv is the atmosphere. You literally feel like you stepped back in time. “Karens” would call this “dated” but I find it extremely charming. Menu is limited but everything we’ve ordered is very good. They had no problem chartering to my gluten free dietary restriction. This place has some of THE BEST LIVE MUSIC in Lake and Mendocino counties. The drinks are stiff and well priced. Great dance floor!! This place feels like home.

Wow! The 4 of us had a fantastic breakfast/brunch at the Riviera Hills Restaurant. We are making this our FAVORITE breakfast place! It was very reasonably priced and a lot of choices to satisfy everyone! Fantastic views and great service too! What more could you want!!? We will be back!!

Menu was paltry (liver and onions and a few others) and unappealing, the hostess was very sweet but made us wait quite a while before we could order even tho we were the only patrons inside the restaurant (there were 4 other tables occupied outside). We left without ordering. Very dated atmosphere, caters to the older crowd.

Went there for a date night with my wife because of some of the other reviews. Great views from the dining room and patio of the valley. Unfortunately the menu is very small with only 3 or 4 things offered that weren't hamburgers or sandwiches. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else.

Great viewLove first Sunday open mic.Food is goodService sucks. Wait 45 minutes for someone to take your order. Another 45 minutes to get your order that has been setting under heatlamps or just pulled out of a microwave is ridiculous.

A great find and we'll definitely be back. Excellent food with beautiful views. The pan seared cod special was fabulous, fresh with a beautiful sauce that was perfect with mashed potatoes. The fish and chips were very good too, fresh fish makes a difference! Fried calamari was fresh as well and very tender. We also had a delicious French onion soup, light and flavorful also fresh made. Prices were not bad at all very reasonable for good quality. Looking forward to coming back with our family.

Spouse and I arrived for lunch. No one in the lobby. Stood around a while and watched the fish in the tank. And waited. And waited. Finally a waiter came by and asked if we were waiting to be seated. We said yes. Waiter then disappeared. Hoped it was to get someone. And we waited. And waited. Finally someone I assume is the host took us to a table. And we waited. And waited.Seeing the pattern?Long story short, we were there for an hour and never even saw our food. We eventually just got up and left before it arrived (some say it's still being prepared to this day) as we had to be somewhere else.We don't even know if they noticed.Overheard another table complain that their food was cold. Imagine waiting over an hour for your food for it to be cold. And it wasn't even busy!!The decor is old and outdated as well but I could easily overlook that if the food arrived and was remotely tasty. The view is fantastic and I'm guessing it's how this place even stays in business. I was talking about bringing my family over when they're in town. That's not happening now that I know we likely wouldn't get fed. Can't in good conscience recommend this place to anyone looking for a meal. Maybe if you just sit at the bar and sip and look around it's ok.

We went last night,Sat. They had a very good band . I can't remember their name, sorry guys.We sat outside it was a little windy but it felt good. The scenery was awesome..you have a view of the lakes and mountains The food was great, our server was tentative in the beginning but it got pretty hoppin real fast. The waiter redeemed himself.A great place to eat, listen to and dance .A great place for a date, party or enjoy the scenery.

Very poor service. They need more servers. Many people complained that they offered no shade outside, very bright and 80°.Prime rib was wonderful.

We decided to spend Memorial Day Weekend in Clear Lake California. It was a Friday evening We arrived here at 6:30PM it was very quiet in the restaurant (didn't see anyone in this area) but we heard a lot of music and singing in the bar. Looked like Karaoke. When we walked into the bar through the other glass door, opposite the restaurant, everyone stopped to stare(?) at us. I can tell they were regulars/locals almost like out of a movie. We took a seat to watch the singer. Soon after, a young server appeared to our table, his name was Jeremy. I asked Jeremy what time does the restaurant side open, and he said 5pm. (It was 6:33pm). The restaurant was empty. We got up from the movie set, and Jeremy escorted us across the way, to the restaurant side. I asked if we could sit outside, and he obliged! Outside was NO customers but the most spectacular and perfect view of Clear Lake! (I imagine I could have had my Wedding and Reception here) Another server showed up to take our drink order after dropping off our water and warm bread and butter. Her name was Miriam. I found out later that she was promoted from dishwasher to bus girl. Both were extremely professional, kind, and accommodating. Normally, when a restaurant is empty, like this, it is usually a red flag.I inquired about the Bartenders' mixology skills, to Guage what drink I was to order, and Miriam ensured us that the bartender knew his assignment! Miriam was spot on! Perfect!!! Our (Top Shelf) Long Island Ice Teas did not disappoint! We placed our order: Prime Rib Medium Well with Rice for me, and Wifey had the Seafood Linguine. My salad with thousand island came first, and I forgot to say "no onions." Once I removed the obvious fresh red onions, the salad was enjoyable!I couldn't resist asking my server where all the restaurant customers were. They say it was Memoral Day weekend, and people go out of town. We could hear the bar side was packed with neighbors and regulars singing Karaoke, and actually sound nice.Entrées arrived. I was literally shocked of the prime rib presentation! Hot, Seasoned, Tender, Tasty! Melted in my mouth!! My official compliments to the Chef! ??????????????Seafood Linguine was a good choice for Wifey, with no complaints. Long Islands are doing the job! Jeremy and Miriam took turns checking in on us to ensure customer satisfaction!I asked Miriam about desert and she recited it like it was a Easter Speach. Wifey chose the warm brownies with ice cream.$100 later plus a well deserved $20 tip we were out the door and very satisfied. As we were walking out I saw 3 tables of customers they were working on.As a result of our experience here I will definitely return and hope to see these two professionals Jeremy and Miriam again!!
