“Very clean machines, nice clean shop and has a change machine and detergent vending machine.Takes quarters and also payment via some app.14 standard size washers, 3 large and 2 XL. 16 dryers. Almost all were working OK (only one was out of order).Next to the Mason cable car at Filbert Street.Not busy on a weekday morning and has a staff member there to keep an eye on things and handle wash-and-fold collections/orders.”

“Been traveling for a week now touring the Bay Area with my family and our recent air b n b didn’t have a washer and dryer. I found this laundromat on google and I must say it was the best experience I’ve had washing my clothes in a public place. The place is super clean and next to a cute cafe and pizzeria. Their machines are ready to handle all sizes of loads and the atmosphere is very stress free. The owner/attendant was so kind to me and she helped me even find a vegetarian place to grab lunch while we waited for our clothes to dry.”
“Excellent and fast service! The day before Thanksgiving, my dog had diarrhea on my down comforter. I called Berkland Cleaners when they opened and explained the situation, asking if they had a "rush" service because I don't own another blanket. They not only finished cleaning my comforter the same day, I received a text message notifying me when it was ready to pick up, and there was no additional charge! Other cleaners I called said that Monday would be the soonest (due to the holiday), and quoted me higher prices as well. Would definitely use Berkland Cleaners again!”

“GREAT BUSINESS! I needed to have 20 custom drapes made for our community center. I had the raw materials but needed a seamstress. I brought the materials to Clean Living Cleaners with the measurements I needed and the staff discussed what I wanted and and gave me a quote and an expected time frame. About a week later, right on time, they called me and said my order was ready. The price was very fair and the quality of work was AMAZING! I’ll always go to Clean Liviing for my sewing or cleaning needs. The staff and owner are so nice and professional and the work is done to a high standard in a timely manner at a very fair price. Update to my previous review: despite telling me the turn-around would take 5-6 days, I was surprised with a phone call 3 hours after dropping off my items that they were ready. They so appreciated that I was understanding about their circumstances and didn't want to disappoint me as a first-time customer. To say I was touched would be an understatement. These people are so kind - will continue coming back just to give them my business.I never write reviews on yelp, but after stopping in here this morning I knew I needed to! The washer/dryer at my current place is down and I wanted to drop off laundry somewhere local. I found this place on yelp and decided to check it out. When I walked in, the man and woman working worriedly told me that if I wanted to get my laundry done, the turn-around time would be much longer than usually (5-6 days rather than same day or next day). They explained that their dryers are not working to capacity and after several weeks of not being able to get them serviced, they opted to purchase a new dryer which they are waiting to be delivered (estimated to arrive in a few weeks). They wanted to ensure I understood the situation because they didn't want to leave me disappointed and profusely apologized for the inconvenience. They expressed how terrible they felt in not being able to serve their customers in the timely manner they normally are. Because of their kindness and transparency, I wanted to support their business and left a few items for them to clean that I didn't need to have returned ASAP. As small business owners, I can only imagine how stressed they are dealing with mishaps with the equipment they so deeply rely on for their business. Their kindness and transparency was more than enough for me to want to support them and will continue to do so!”
“Clean facilities and good community. It’s criminal that Berkeley landlords expect that we live without a minimum of privacy and convenience, and it seems almost that that folks at the Laundry Room get that and knew to make a welcoming place.”

“If I could give John and family ten stars, I would. I own a small food business that is very messy and shreds through my clothes. Most days I work 15-16 hours and cannot squeeze in time to make it to a laundromat when they are open. I started taking my clothes to John as he's in the neighborhood and I am beyond impressed. My grease stained shirts come back looking new and perfectly folded. I've never had such clean clothes in my life. They are not only super accommodating but also very sweet. Please support them and shave some time off your day by dropping off your clothes here.”

“This place is nice and clean at such beautiful neighborhood. The price is ok for washing, but for drying is little expensive, 25 cents for 4mn, and a dryer is seems taking long time to dry if you compare it to another Laudromat. Even you put it on high heat, it seem its just warm heat.”

“I rarely use Dry Cleaners but had to go to a wedding and my suit was hanging in my Closet for way too long. Walked in on Friday 07/01/2022. They said it would be ready on Tuesday 07/05/2022.Because of the holiday. Suit Jacket and Shirt were Professionally cleaned. I showed up at 1000 am and they said it wasn't ready. He said 10 minutes. I ran some other errands and came back 10 Minutes later and it was ready. I would recommend this cleaners. Great service”

“I have only appreciation and admiration for Jeanette at Royal cleaners! It was always my dream to wear my mother's wedding dress at my own wedding. I came to her with my mom's wedding dress from the 1980s and asked her to help me modernize it by taking off the (rather puffy) sleeves and altering the waist. She put so much care and attention into renovating the gown and it turned out absolutely beautiful. Jeanette very innovatively took the large silk bow and turned it into a tie up the back. All her idea. She removed the sleeves so perfectly it looked like the dress had always meant to be sleeveless. She even modified the neckline and worked with the fragile lace to make sure everything laid properly. Jeanette went above and beyond for me -- she even added back in the bustle so I could walk and move in the gown more easily. I was back and forth at Royal's many many times over several months to try on the dress, give Jeanette feedback, check on it, etc. It was a collaborative process and when the dress was basically finished, I cried, and so did Jeanette :) I so appreciated her attention to detail and understanding of the sentimentality of wearing my mother's dress. I highly recommend other brides looking to re-work a vintage dress to go see Jeanette! She will help make your vision a reality. Thank you so much, Jeanette!”
“Well I'll say this, if you have to go to a laundromat to do your laundry, then Maria's wash and dry is one of the nicest laundromats that I've gone to.This once was the San Pablo public library, nice big spacious room with very high ceilings, just a nice place to do your laundry if you don't have a washing machine at home”
