The ambiance of McNallys is top notch. The minute you walk in it is like stepping back in time.
The welcoming hellos and genuinely kind greetings from the owners and employees is beyond heartfelt ♥️.
We have been to McNallys numerous times and not once have we been disappointed with the service, food and overall welcome feeling that we get.
Jim makes it a point to greet and take the time to converse with everyone that walks through the door.
I love that pets are allowed on the deck and they are treated to a steak bite snack from Jim.
Can't beat the drinks. Try the Madore Sour blended with citrus vodka, nobody does it better. Sherida definitely has the touch for making a great drink.(Thank you Sherida, you get it right everytime).
I honestly have nothing but praise for this business and how they do what they do.
Jim, Darlene and crew keep up the awesome work. Thank you for making it feel like home.

McNally’s General Store
1941 Kern River Hwy, KernvilleI enjoyed an outstanding steak dinner on our week of camping near the Kern River. It's outside of town, a nice drive north about 15 min from Kernville, the food was great. The service as on point and the portions very good. If you eat in the patio, the views are great in the enclosed patio. The steak was cooked to perfection and was great treat while camping. They also have a mini market, burger stand and motel.

McNally's Outpost
11301 Kernville Rd Suite C, KernvilleThis was recommended by a friend who camps a lot in Kern. It's a small burger joint in the area. Me and the wife both had the mcnally burger. It was perfectly seasoned. Fries has good portion. Their shakes we added malt in it was so good as well. We were 8 in a group and theres three small tables inside. We all fit. Lol. Outside has great view as well if you want to bask in the sun while eating your burger. I highly recommend!

Ewings on the Kern
125 Buena Vista Dr, KernvilleSo rare that a business EXCEEDS expectation. Ewings on the Kern did so in every way and made it look effortless.
First, the staff. Polite, thoughtful, thorough. From reception when making reservations to their wait staff, every aspect was exceptional.
Second, the facility. The view was spectacular, seating was spacious and comfortable. Zero wait time. And again, smiles from everyone, start to finish.
Saving the best for last, the food. This is where Ewings really shined. My family sampled most of the menu and as we dined, it just got better and better.
I had a split-pea soup for an appetizer. As someone who grew up in the north-east, hearty soups were a staple in our winter time diet. This soup was hands-down the best I ever tasted. Our filet and tri-tip was cooked to perfection, and our appetizers of stuffed mushrooms and grilled shrimp had us wanting more.
Ewings on the Kern was recommended by a work friend, but I had no idea how good it really is. More than a recommendation, its a MUST.
If you get a chance to visit, do not hesitate. I promise it will become one of your regular stops.
