Fantastic motel for the price! And biggest bonus is they're very dog friendly and don't have a weight limit. The room was small but if you travel like I do and just need a place to sleep then it's more than adequate!

We came to Kings Beach with accommodations booked elsewhere, but got cancelled with only an hour before check-in. Thankfully I remembered considering the Stevenson's Holliday Inn since they were the only other pet friendly establishment I had found. Walked down the street and talked to the manager about availability, sure enough they had a room and were able to offer it to us. After an exhausting day due to the other place, we were very relieved to get into a room. Our daughter immediately was excited to jump into bed after camping for a couple nights.

Very old dirty and bold rooms. The walls and coffee machine is dirty, opened shampoo, human hair. But towels. The location is close Northstar and it’s not expensive but the motel is not well maintained.

Stevenson's is great for the price. The location is a block from the Lake, an easy walk to the public beach, restaurants and shops. The owner Neil and his family are very nice and accommodating. Our check in (both times) was so pleasant and easy. He was out every morning tidying and checking in with guests to see how their stay was going. They have nice extra amenities like pool/hot tub and gameroom with a few exercise machines. Pets are allowed and kids stay free! Our room was clean, the bed was firm but comfortable. They included all the nice little hotel things like fridge, microwave, coffee, shampoo, kleenex, ironing board, even a couple of spray deodorants. It was obviously updated recently; the toilet, bath/dressing room counters and carpet looked brand new. Hopefully the wallpaper and baseboards get done next. Furniture was a bit ratty but sturdy. Our friends who stayed up the street and payed quite a bit more didn't have enough coffee for their group or kleenex. So there you go.Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and ended up booking a second night. We recommend it to any one who's looking for a great value in a very high priced area and is not deterred by an older property in the midst of a spiffing up.

Best thing about this place is the location. Rooms are old and funky, not particularly clean either. Pool not functional. Our room had partially obstructed view of lake. Lots of ground floor windows so didn't feel real

There was hair in the beds, toenail clippings on the floor. It didn't feel clean at all. Great for ski bum. Bad for traveling with your parentsWalkability: Great to walk around

This place is great for families! I would recommend that they get new mattresses (our room had two full size mattress that were both diff and pretty stained/old. We stayed in room 30 and even tho the place is a little old it was a great stay. Just a few mins walk to kings beach. There's a delicious burger/bbq place right next door to the inn. I highly recommend this place, good price for what u get/location.

Worst flipping motel I have stayed in. Construction on the wall outside and overhead started before seven in the morning! Place is disgusting. Would never dream of coming back.

Right on the Kings Beach and very accessible. We had a pleasant 1-night stay and would definitely stay again. Pet friendly as well.

This place had the best value when I looked for a weekend trip in a busy touristy season. It was a cozy, friendly and convenient stay, 5 minute walk to King’s beach, which was free and nice for a late afternoon swim. The rooms are dated, but clean. The shower was hot with good pressure. The towels were clean but a bit old. We had 3 fans for the two rooms, which worked for we are not there during the hot days and the nights were cool. There was a small room with board games and ping pong. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The pool was not working. There are tons of shops, cafe’s and restaurants within walking and short driving distances.

I want to start by saying that I'm not super picky, and rarely write negative reviews. I recently stayed at this motel for 3 nights. I saw the photos, and read the reviews, and had low expectations going in. I chose it for the location and proximity to King's Beach (which was great!), and figured it wouldn't matter much since we didn't plan to hang out at the hotel (it was just a place to sleep), but I would not stay here again. The cleanliness of the room was not acceptable. There were cobwebs on the ceilings, stains on the sheets and towels, thick layer of dust on the tv stand, random holes in the walls, bubbling and peeling wallpaper, and the shower was old and stained and the floor was peeling off. The cabinets and drawers were dirty inside, so we could not put our clothes in them.At one point, my daughter was laying on the bed, and the headboard just randomly fell off the wall. Luckily it did not fall on her while she was sleeping. The beds were very uncomfortable and sunken in the middle. There is no air conditioning, something to be aware of if you're staying in the summer. Also, the pool and spa both do not work. The positives are the location - quick walk to King's Beach, close walk to several restaurants, free parking, and the man in the office was very nice and helpful. But overall, I would not recommend staying here. The photos show the shower floor, holes and screws in the wall, broken (?) smoke detector, cobwebs, peeling/dirty wall, trash/furniture pile outside room, headboard that fell off the wall, and the pool.

A Tahoe experience, blast-fromh-the-past time capsule. This mid century roadside motel with eighties art deco decor has some rooms tucked away off the main street with hidden views of the lake. A special place to come with family and enjoy the beach!

What a pleasant time we had here!So convenient to everything and the owner went beyond the call of duty to make our stay comfortable and happy. We loved the surroundings and little flower planters outside our door and the old school feeling. This host obviously cares about making his guest's stay nice!

This is not Holiday Inn, dont be fooled by the name. The motel does not have AC - they give you a fan. The room with king bed smelled terribly strong - mildew with something rotten. And the slide door lock was broken.Shower was the opposite of clean, and with mildew. For close to $200 per night, save yourself and look for something else.
