The only decent choice of stay is you want to stay close to Redwood NP.
Be aware, this is a very old building without any modern renovation, which means the wall is very thin and the facility is not in its best shape.
However, big con: (1) location is amazing, (2) price is reasonable, (3) staff is very friendly and helpful, and (4) you must take the breakfast there for its fantastic view overlooking the river and reasonable charges (probably the cheapest you can have with proper service).

So glad we found this place after discovering that our originally planned place was not that great. The hosts were super friendly and the lobby with the fireplace was cozy. There’s amazing river views from the lobby and dining room. We stayed for two nights in the Post Office on the first floor, which has its own separate entrance making it very private. While the online photos show it’s right on the road, this is misleading because it’s a small side street with most traffic only going up to the outlook (guessing for the sunset). We had a full kitchen (but didn’t plan on staying here so didn’t come prepared with groceries), a living room, and bedroom/bathroom. This is a really neat, historical place above the Klamath River. Our room was fairly clean but my husband did promptly take all the daddy long leg spiders outside for me (it says in welcome book that they’ll do it for you if you don’t like spiders but I’m wondering why not clear them out before a guest checks in?). The queen bed was super comfy and I liked the gas fireplaces. I do wish we could see the river from the couch, but the windows are off to the sides and the wall is in front of the couch. Still…we walked across the street and got a spectacular view! We heard about the two neighborhood bears so we made sure to bring our snacks inside and not leave them in the car. What was even better was that on a short morning walk down the street we saw the black bear across the river (using our binoculars), as well as some river otters and two bald eagles in the other direction. We could also see the beach from that spot. We took several day trips to the Redwoods north and south of the hotel, making this a great location. I wish they still served dinner as there’s nothing open nearby…especially after we had a fabulous breakfast there! (I can just imagine how good dinners used to be.) I also wish there was an EV charger on site as driving to Crescent City took time away from enjoying this amazing property. We would stay here again.

What an amazing gem of a hotel/bnb. My partner and I stayed here one night on a road trip up the west coast and were stunned at how gorgeous the view was from our room, the quality of the hospitality, the friendliness of the staff (and other guests!), and the knockout breakfast. An absolute winner.
Nearby activities: The lookout where the Klamath River meets the ocean is a few minutes drive down the road and an absolute must-see.

Can’t recommend more. Great inn with delicious breakfast. Definitely get a room facing the river as it is a gorgeous view. The hot tub is great after a long day of hiking and the wine they have available is great. Momma Cass is so helpful and accommodating. I can’t wait to return to this wonderful special place!

An extraordinary place! You'll never want to leave again.... Breathtaking views of the river, the best hospitality, a historic building with preserved charm and last but not least, super comfortable beds.

Too noisy for a light sleeper. Beautifully appointed and attractive old inn and view. No AC in rooms of course so had to sleep w windows open and had to listen to late night partying until 3am. Think it may have been house above inn. Im guessing this was an anomaly but unlucky for my wife and i. Get a room facing the river! Noise probably won't be an issue...

We wanted a quiet, comfortable place to stay while touring the Redwoods... We found it. Clean, comfortable, and quiet! The historic inn is just that....I felt like I was checking into an 1890 hotel.
Best night sleep I have had in California!

Such a peaceful little getaway right in the middle of the Redwoods parks. It was clean, had a super comfortable mattress, and the staff was so friendly. The building itself is also really cool and the decor of the Inn really leans into the history of the area. I’m already thinking of excuses to take another weekend away just to come back to this place!
Food & drinks: Breakfast is incredible!

We have been to the Requa Inn many times and enjoy it thoroughly. The decor is enchanting and the food delicious. The only drawback is that the hotel is so old it is not soundproof. Hey, not a bad trade off for being right on the Klamath River!

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful inn! The setting was gorgeous and the staff was wonderful. We loved the delicious breakfast in the morning (additional fee but so worth it!) The house-made granola was amazing!

Our 4th visit and certainly not the last. Case made sure this was best visit ever. Delightful rooms, great views of river, and perfect location for Klamath overlook and coastal trail. Can recommend any room, not a bad one there. Will return for a 5th visit but only if Cass is there. She’s the best!
Rooms: Bed awesomely comfortable. Decorating appropriate for 1914 inn.
Nearby activities: Great access to coastal trail and redwoods
Food & drinks: Breakfast basic but very good, even the toast!

This was are anniversary trip, we only stayed one night but it was special and we'll be back again. The room was super cozy with a great view, access to a jacuzzi was perfect after a long drive, we hung out in the common room for a few hours and read, played chess and did a puzzle, a real get away from the hustle of day to day. The breakfast was delicious, I love a good biscuits and gravy and this one was great. Everything was perfect for us, thank you for a special night.
