“Trader Joe's has excellent selection of groceries and goodies. Their customer service is outstanding. I suggest checking out their new salads and some freezer items like soy ice cream sandwiches. Such variety on a small market saves times and money when both count ! Bravo for the La Canada location.”
“The Shops on Lake Avenue. This area extends from 345 through 455 South Lake Avenue 91101. It is on the west side of Lake Avenue. Some prompts from Google indicate that it is a larger area than it actually is. It is the original Bullock's department store in Pasadena. It has great historical and architectural significance. This area was developed to be a leisurely place to enjoy community, shopping, food. It was a new concept design specifically for this area. It is a walkable and enjoyable experience to shop and eat in this area.
Now that it is Macy's they have continued to develop small boutique stores located alongside the lower edge of the building along Lake. Some of the small boutique stores have changed. The new stores have become very popular. Foundation stores like Trader Joe’s and The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf keep bringing in new customers. It is important to check opening hours for the different stores as they vary from store to store. Parking is available in the Macy's parking lot adjacent. I believe it's 3 hours parking but double check always the printed signs.
The last time I walked by the area I was impressed at the generational diversity. Nice to realize that some of the historic influences of the past are being carried on by a new generation.
When visiting this is a great place to consider. It gives you a good foundation for understanding how Pasadena developed its friendly atmosphere.

When I came to this plaza last year during winter, I had a good experience. Empire Center has all kinds of shops in one place. Coffee shops, food chains, clothing stores, appliance shops.
The Krispy Kreme here is awesome. It's packed and lively in a good way, especially during the weekends. From my experience, it was not too chaotic, but not too quiet either. The scenery from the Northeast is just awesome. California has the most beautiful scenery the country has on display. Seeing the mountains from a distance after walking out of a Marshalls or Target during sunset hits different.”

The environment is generally clean and well-maintained, though it can get quite busy, especially during weekends or peak tourist hours. Despite the crowds, the space is large enough to handle high traffic without feeling overly cramped.

Chinatown Central Plaza has a really unique atmosphere, especially when all the neon lights and lanterns are on. The traditional architecture looks amazing at night and makes the whole area very photogenic.”

“I ate at All That Shabu and it was wonderful! The service is great. The selection of broth, fresh vegetables, and seafood is outstanding. There are many hot dishes as well, which are very tasty. You can order all the meat you want and it's delivered to your table. There are nine selections of meats to select for rom, and all are good. They come by often and ask if more meat is needed and you let them know your choices. All That Shabu is definitely worth the price.”
“I have been to this courtyard multiple times. It is a cute stores, tasty food, and a fun little grassy area. I often get a Korean potatoe corn dog whenever I go, as well as shop for food at Paris Baguette. The kpop store nearby is fun to go to, and I usually end my trip with getting Nutella fish and then a few groceries at Hmart. The parking is free for two hours with validation from a purchase in a store in the courtyard. Honestly, this little gem is worth visiting!”

“This is my go to mall. Its not that big but it has a lot of good stores.Food court have different variety of good.Parking is at the parking garage- with plenty of spaces. The place is clean and spacious.The mall does not have a lot of seats for customers- it will be better if they can have seats to rest in between shopping. “A great outdoor shopping experience. Our first time here as this outside mall was a little far to where we live in Buena Park. Visiting this mall is truly a great experience they have a dancing fountain that gives together with the band that was playing. Lots of restaurants and shops to walk around in and experience. They also have a Trolley that goes around the whole block.”

“I ate at Panera. The hostess was a bit overwhelmed and so when she took my order a few errors had to be repeated and she still got it a little wrong. But all in all the food and drink and good and delicious and I like the bread and butter when you order soup. ? Bused my own dishes and was in and out with two people fairly quickly. A few tables were taken by people working on a laptop and not seeming to eat at all. Just looks like they had been there for a while. All the handicapped spots are already taken which is hard on my mom when we park it's always a long walk”
