La Jolla Shores Park offers outstanding views of the Pacific Ocean with various colors of water visible. It is a great, clean beach with clean water that is not too hot and not too cold. The sand is super soft, and the beach is wide and large with a flat, level walk and a gentle slope into the water, so there is no need to scramble down rocks. The park provides the best of both worlds, combining the beach with a vast expanse of lush, green grass, a welcome contrast to the sand. It is a well-maintained and clean area with a busy picnic area, plenty of clean picnic tables, and a playground. It is a great place to spend time with the family or anyone wanting a break from the sand. Amenities are a key feature, including restrooms, outdoor showers for rinsing off, and regular showers for your whole body or just your feet. There is a paved boardwalk for activities like jogging and biking. The beach is popular for surfing, with lots of surfers and calm waves perfect for swimming or boogie boarding. Lifeguards are on duty, adding comfort. The area attracts well-behaved people of all ages and sizes and remains quiet despite the activity. It is close to great restaurants, and you can rent bikes or surfboards nearby. The main drawback is that parking can be difficult, especially during the warmer months, when it can take a while. However, the park is a destination for an entire day of fun, fresh air, and quintessential San Diego vibes.
Looks very inviting, lots if family fun. The weekends are packed. Start early because it does get breezy en evening.

I love this place. Love this beach. If you're patient, you can find parking in the lot. Otherwise, you can usually get decent street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

Not the prettiest beach in La Jolla, but heavy lifeguard presence, bathrooms, showers, parking, park areas, BBQs and fire pits, wide sandy beach.
