I spoke to Ken about my little problem. At 5:00 p.m. on a Friday. When I got there was almost 5:30 p.m., and he helped me out right away and my problem was solved immediately. Who else would have done that, with a smile no less? So he gives great service and he also told me something else that I needed to take care of, and gave me advice about how to deal with it in the meantime, and I'm very grateful for the great service. I think they're a bit pricey, but in a pinch, definitely worth it, and you can ask for Ken!

It would be lower than one star. First took my car in to an Orange County Firestone, I had to use this La Mesa location and deeply regret it!! Prior to being at the FS location in OC two days before visiting La Mesa FS, I was asked to pay ANOTHER scoping fee which the mechanic at this location tried to argue with the guy from OC (after spending nearly 6K on repairs). NOTHING was done about the noise. OH and The lack of customer service is seriously disappointing and disturbing. Everyone I came into contact with (minus someone named Eric) was incredibly RUDE and sarcastic for NO reason, laughing at my question and concerns too. If you hate your customer service job this much you should quit. This La Mesa location is a JOKE and a cash grab. Avoid it like the plague.

Updated 2/29/24 I reviewed this location about 3 days ago because I found a huge oil spot under my truck on my new paver driveway after getting an oil change. The day after my review, the manager Chris texted me and and advised me that he would call me back the following day he was at work. Chris called and apologized and took ownership of the mistakes that "may" have taken place while my vehicle was at the La Mesa Location. I explained to him that the oil filter housing was loose and it was dripping oil. Again, Chris apologized. What stood out to me was not that fact that he apologized, it was the fact that Chris took full ownership of it and even blamed himself as the manager of the shop for pushing his subordinates to work faster. To me, this shows great leadership, extreme ownership and accountability. Chris offered to re-do my oil change and check my vehicle out. I declined and opted for my money back so I can change my own oil like I've done in the past but couldn't due to my sprained ankle. When I came in to the shop today, I advised Chris that I had tightened my filter housing and felt as if the bottom filter drain plug was loose. Chris advised that they normally do not drain the filter housing first and just remove the filter housing all together. This explains why there was a huge mess under truck. By removing just the filter without draining, that's a ton of oil that gets on the skid plate and later leaked on to my driveway. This is probably why I will be doing my own oil change as usual. I bumped my review up to 4 stars. 3 stars for the messy oil change, added another star for Chris's leadership. Firestone (management) refunded the price ($120) of my oil change. Only thing wasted in my opinion was my time and a little elbow grease attempting to clean up the oil marks. I thank Chris the manager at Firestone for attempting to make it right. Origninal Google Review Monday 2/26/24 I have reviewed Firestone in the past. I was totally happy with their service during my past visit. I have not driven my truck since the service and left it parked in my driveway for a week. Tonight I come home with an oil spot on the driveway. I look underneath and discover that my oil filter housing is leaking oil and my skid plate on my tacoma is completely soaked in oil. I've been pretty meticulous about keeping my vehicle serviced and clean. Now I have to power wash and scrub my driveway and drop the skid plate to get the oil cleaned up. I'm pretty bummed that this occurred since I was looking forward to taking my vehicle at this location on the regular. I am hoping the manager calls me or emails me after this review. I have several photos I wish I could post on this review. I will have to post my review on yelp and google if they can't make this right.

This Firestone location in La Mesa exceeded my expectations and I've been to a half dozen locations over the years. I had a flat tire occur during my lunch, and they put the service that I needed literally in high gear. The Service Manager Kinfe even took it upon himself to lend a hand to get me on the road again as soon as possible. The shop was busy, but the work with other vehicles was getting done in an organized and systematic way. In addition, the tires I chose were in stock for being a semi-unique size. If I had the time I would have changed all 4 tires instead of 2, but I'll be back to get the others soon. The checkout process was also quick and Ivan was extremely expedient and friendly in assisting me with this unexpected car repair. Thank you!!

I needed a tire with a slow leak diagnosed and patched. I dropped the car off and they called me back less than an hour later. All done, $20. A report showing they checked the pressure in the other tires. What's not to like? The counterman was very friendly when I called ahead and when I was there.

Erik was absolutely amazing. I got a light on dashboard, after calling dealership they informed me that it is a tire pressure very low. So I stopped at this location. I was welcomed by Erik, as if he was waiting for me. He asked about the reason of my issue, as soon as I explained, within a minute he directed me where to park, he proceeded to check them all- all of them needed attention and when I proposed how much: he said: “ nothing at all, just have a good day and be safe” what a top notch customer service I received. I will definitely be back when I need assistance for sure. Thank you for a job well done Erik.

My car started making a strange noise, and I was able to make an early morning appt at the La Mesa Firestone, which is close to my home. EriK Guttormson was so friendly and helpful, and really put my mind at ease. It turned out to be a minor fix, and they also did an oil change. I have encountered few people with Erik's customer service skills, and it was a pleasure to do business with La Mesa Firestone. I have to say, if not for Erik I wouldn't continue to be a customer of Firestone, after a disappointing experience at another Firestone location. He really is a people person, and very knowledgeable about vehicle repair/service.
