Happen to be strolling around browsing with my elderly mother, and wife in tow. I noticed the racist grey haired manager dude eyeing me conspicuously as I perused the men's shirts. I'm wearing a fleece zip up since we've been out all morning at breakfast and I wanted to spend more time with Mom. It was now mid day and I'm over dressed, maybe I'm going to shove shirts under my fleece? It's the kinky hair ponytail that get's the racist ire up most, and the handsome, confident presence I exude, lesser men envy. Strike 1. We had selected a large, heavy Microwave for our Granny Flat, and it was settled on top of one of their shopping carts, at check out my wife asked if we could take it outside to the car. "We're parked about a block away, we'll bring it back." We were informed by the pleasant clerk that that was not allowed. "Not even to the curb?" "No." she replied. Strike 2. I have to leave wife in the store with the microwave. Walk to the car, pull up in front in Red, very busy street, on the corner. Emergency lights. Does anyone offer to help? No! Wife's upset, she tries to carry it out the door. I leave the car with flashers on, run to help. It is ridiculous! I decide to go into the store and give them an instant review on their deplorable "Customer Service". Goodwill has been part of my Reuse, repurpose, recycle lifestyle, most of my life. Oh, I've seen their prices go from cheap, to reasonable, to ridiculous, more expensive than in the stores, for used. We donate often, every year it's part of our tax avoidance strategy. I literally have spent thousands over the years, I average about a grand a year, every couple of weeks, around hair cut time, you can find me going next door to the Avocado Store in the mall next to Smart and Final. There's a couple of Spanish brothers with fancy beards, they'll recognize me. I think one works in the Santee store now, the other might still be at Avocado. I bought a Gladiator Helmet for a $100 bucks from their, he might remember that. Strike 3, Your Out! Long time customer will start the boycott. Let's see how big an impact, little ole me can make?

Prices are ridiculously high. Whoever is in charge of pricing things is pricing as if they were new. These are donated items. Price items fairly and items will move faster which will make room for more donated items. Ex: a used north face sweater with the letters fading for $30. Used Jackets for $50. Shoes for $25.

I bought a boxed ab roller from here and when I got home it was missing a piece. Naturally I figured I would return it. I was helped by a JD Maynar who informed me that they don't accept returns, only on electronics. I'm really frustrated- shouldn't they have checked to make sure they weren't selling something with missing parts? Should I have opened the box in the store to check its contents? Is that even legal?Don't spend your money here, I know I won't (unless you want broken useless junk).

I come to this location at least twice a monthOn 11/18/2023 as I was looking around an employee came up to me and told me I had to leave my bag behind the counter. I was only carrying my purse so I refused I told her I wouldn't leave my purse behind the counter she than said I would have to leave. So I left .I understand large bags or backpacks but making me leave my purse is dumb.No one else was asked to leave their purse

It's a Goodwill. It's a small store but it is very well kept and clean. The staff are hit or miss in friendliness but hey, it's a Goodwill. They do have a great theft prevention policy, stand at the counter and yell "you're not welcome here!" but hey, it's a Goodwill. It's nice that it's not surrounded by crackheads but every now and then one will ask you to buy them an entire outfit, but hey, it's a Goodwill. For its size it has a good selection of everything and offers a good way to spend some time as you cruise through lovely downtown La Mesa.

I am not coming here a anymore. First time visiting, It was 752 pm, they close at 8pm, and as soon I went in an older man ? stopped my children and my self at the door and told us they were closed. The door was still not locked and I had at least 5 minutes to see an item and at least three minutes to pay, exiting at 8pm. The guy was rude and I am not coming back here again. ?

Customer service at this location is ridiculous. I couldn't even go in the dressing room with my child to try on clothe when u tagged our door with what items we went in with . But yet you can allow 2 friends to hog a dressing room like it was only reserved for them.
