Rented a car here and had a change in flight plans. No drop box for an early return. Ended up having to return to another location. Cost an additional 80.00. When the original cost 106.00 total. Unbelievable. Careful where you rent from.

Initial car rental (EV) was provided with about 60 miles of range, so right off I wasted an hour charging a vehicle. Charging your vehicle and provided charged vehicles is the bare minimum.Multiple phone calls to Maria to correct and refund an invoice. Easily 7 phone calls to get this office to do what they are supposed to do on voucher corrections. Even had to call Hertz corporate to correct the issue. 36 days to resolve and 10+ phone calls. Extremely poor service is an understatement. This office appears to be completely chaotic with extremely poor scheduling/short staffing and poor leadership. Hertz is now on the permanent never rent list. Hertz just seems to be falling apart and this office adds to the sinking ship.

Maria the new manager at the La Mesa office was busy when we went to pick up our rental but always had a smile. She was very gracious. Upon returning the car she had the same smile. We rented from there 3 years ago and had great customer service then and now. She accommodated us with our request even knowing the car we would like to have may not have been possible. We will definitely use her services again in the future. Thank You Maria!

Hertz at Bob Stall Chevrolet is horrible. Was told at 830 they were waiting on a return at 12. Problem is they didn't bother to say I was 4th in line. So no car. Had to walk to enterprise and had a car in 2 minutes.

Small location inside a Chevy dealership. 1 person in charge of EVERYTHING. If you prepay and call ahead you should have no problems. If you decide to just show up and rent, expect at least an hour to get through the process. Not many cars available. 30/40 minutes will be just waiting for the 1 employee to come back to the office. Also, you may see lots of Chevy employees hanging out, talking, enjoying work. They are not there to help you. They barely know an office exists, much less where the 1 employee is and when he/she may return. A drop box would help for drop offs, I waited 30min to return the car because there was no one in the office.

It took 5 1/2 hours to rent and return a car. The car had previously been damage which wasn’t noticed until I got into the car. Went back into the office to asked about damage and she wasn’t in there I waited 35 extra mins for no one to come into the office. Apon returning the car I told the person about the damages and she rudely argued with me until I pulled out time stamped photos of the damage. I will never rent here again. I’d rather pay a $50 Uber to the San Diego airport to rent. I use to to work for enterprise rental cars and this would have never happened, and if it did someone is fired.

Ok I don't like to leave negative reviews. But I do want to share some information with whoever may be considering renting from here so you don't make the mistakes I did. First off, I've rented from Hertz too many times to remember. They are normally very flexible and have lots of options for you to make changes to your reservations, multiple locations to drop off your vehicle, etc. However this location does not have those traits. You are limited on returning only to this location, which is only open M-F from 8-5. In addition, this location only has one staff member who works hard to get people what they need, however she's only one person in charge of registration, retrieving the vehicles, checking cars in, etc. For that reason, be prepared to wait. But don't take it out on the staff member. It's not her fault. Because of the type of Hertz location this is, the Hertz hotline is useless. They say to contact the local Hertz instead. Again, un-Hertzlike. I rented a car for 5 days but only needed it for 2. I tried to return it before they closed shop for the day. But I could never get through to the Hertz dealership, I'm assuming because the one person working was unavailable. I ended up keeping it over the weekend and because of Labor Day, and additional day as well. I ended up losing $225 because of this poorly set up Hertz location.

I forgot the gentleman's name, but he was super helpful. I had to pick up family from the airport and the SUV I originally rented was not going to fit 6 luggages. Last minute he was able to upgrade me to a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban. He provided me with a discount and provided so much ease and comfort as I have never drove a big car and was terrified. Cant thank him enough.

The lady working was rude as hell. No help what so ever. This lady doesn't need to work customer service period. She couldn't even answer a question with out being so rude. So we went down the street to enterprise. In out in no time and got a van! Where as the rude lady said no one had them anywhere.

This review is for the small Hertz office in the back of Bob Stall Chevrolet, but mostly about the company itself. The worst car rental experience I have ever had. I was having my Honda serviced at DCH Honda in Mission Valley and made a reservation here for a rental car. When I arrived via Lyft, there was no-one in the office for at least 20 minutes. When I called the main number and selected the option for the local branch the phone began to ring and finally the solo employee that ran the office showed up. One woman to answer the phone, process the paperwork, wash the vehicles and drive them up for check out. Eventually I rented the small SUV which I drove to my work about 20 miles down the freeway. I received word my car was finished early and although I had made the reservation for two days I came back and returned the vehicle the same day. I parked the car right in front of the front door to the dealership and filled out the after hours slip stating the time returned as well as the gas level and dropped the keys in a box right inside the office door. About six days later I get call from the local branch employee asking where the car is. I told her I had returned it the same day and had placed the keys in the box like the sign on the door said. She told me the box next to the door was for shredded paper and she didn't have access to it. The box did not have any indication this was what it was for. She told me she would take care of it and only charge me for one day. Over the next three days I got robo dialer calls from HERTZ telling me the car was seriously overdue. I reached out and spoke to Hertz corporate every day continuously telling them I had returned it and was told on the second call I would only be charged for one day. That night I got charged approx $1000 on my credit card. They had charged me for six days on a two day rental where I had returned the car the same day. I called Vehicle recovery back the next morning and they told me my case was closed and there was nothing they could do besides give me the number for billing where I could open up a dispute. I called and opened up a case and was told they would reach out. Three weeks later (today) I call them and I spoke with a somewhat rude agent named Gloria in El Salvador who began every sentence with "Let me tell you something..." who informed me that my case was already closed and I am liable for charges. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told he was busy on another call and nothing could be done. Hertz has been in the news recently for allegedly reporting "late" rental cars as stolen and having customers arrested. There are several class action lawsuits open against them now. Don't use this location or this company including sister brands Dollar or Thrifty. Next time I will look into Turo, the car sharing app instead. TDLR: I got ripped off over over $800 and got repeatedly harassed about a car I had already returned.

Do not use this location! The wait times are horrendous. Customer service is non existent and the car was full of crumbs and dirt when I got it. Reserve your vehicle elsewhere!
