The venue itself is nice for the price, but unfortunately, our experience was impacted by poor execution of the agreed-upon rental terms. Despite paying for a 5-hour event, staff began putting up chairs after 4 hours, which gave guests the impression that the event had ended early. This was disappointing and cut our baby shower short.
Additionally, while the contract outlines a $200 damage deposit, only $100 was refunded despite no damages occurring. Traditionally deposits are fully refundable.. that's just strange and sneaky even if it is disclosed.
Be aware that the location is near a noisy highway, and you may not receive the full rental time you paid for. I would recommend clarifying expectations thoroughly before booking, wish we did.
This matter took 8 business days for them to come up with a proper response back. This is what you can expect from a poorly ran venue.

We had our daughter's wedding at this venue, and it was perfect. If you are looking to have something with around 100 people I definitely recommend. Owners were very easy to work with. Having the kitchen separate from the event room was a plus. I will be coming back next time I have an event.

Hidden Gems in La Mesa was such an amazing space to host my loved ones at. Their communication was quick and informative. I will absolutely consider them for further events.

My husband and I booked Hidden Gems La Mesa venue for our baby shower & it turned out amazing! Communicating with Ami was very easy, she answered all our questions & helped us with anything that we needed. Day of event everything went smoothly, the security was very laid back & chill we had zero problems. All of our guests had a great time we couldnt have asked for a better venue. Overall our experience was great & would definitely book again for future events!

Hidden Gem is such a beautiful place to have your event , both inside and outside are beautiful . Plenty of space whether it’s a small gathering or something larger. Highly recommend

Employees must be off they’re game they don’t reply in a timely matter booking an event at this place is more problematic then the actual event manager needs to step up they’re game and actually respond to contracted events

I’ve been to at least 3 separate events at this place and they’ve all been great! This venue is beautiful, spacious and perfect for all sorts of events - weddings, receptions, baby showers, birthdays, etc. It’s truly a hidden gem!!

Don’t waste your time. Incredibly unprofessional. Takes several days to receive a response back via email. Finally made an appointment to view the venue and no one showed up. Called. Texted. Emailed. No response! Appt was at 12 noon on a Sunday… right in the middle of the day on a weekend day. Woke my sleeping baby up from a nap to be there on time. Such a waste! No regard for peoples time. Not sure how they run a business this way.Venue isn’t that great (from the outside) either. Right on the freeway with lots of freeway noise. Annoying, in my opinion.

I came here for a friend's baby baptism and the venue is great. It has plenty of indoor and outdoor space and is very accommodating. I definitely will keep this venue in mind if I have a future party in the future.

They do not return any calls/texts/messages.. very unprofessional I had been trying to get a hold of them for weeks and nothing! So disappointing because this place looks so nice and we wanted to book it for my baby's birthday.

I am trying to book this place for a baby shower. Like others I have been calling leaving messages, but no response. It’s really frustrating. We had the last baby born in our family shower there and it was great. There should be some better for of communion when it comes to business.Can someone please get back to us ASAP. This is bad business people.
