We've been here for a few events now because TC's is so awesome! Brad does an amazing job at keeping the events running well with so many people around. He's so awesome and keeps it fair and fun for everyone. We've been here for tournaments, Pokémon day and the most recent Pokémon prerelease. When we ask our kids where they want to go for Pokémon events, TC's is always a top choice.

This is an overall pretty cool shop from cards to toys from different genres. Went to look at the Pokemon cards and picked up a couple that I was missing. Will definitely revisit when I'm back in San Diego.

I came here for a card I placed online on their website at my house to pick up the next day. I walk into the front front counter to ask if I could pick it up. A young man asked if I rung the bell on the counter , I said I did not because I placed it online for pickup. He then told me I had to ring the button by the computers when I did not even use them. We stood there for a second while he was sorting cards not willing to help me, until I went back to the kiosk to press the button...

This shop appears to be focused on comics, but the truth is, it's a game store and the comics are an afterthought. With thousands and thousands of books one could only imagine their favorite hero would have plenty of selection. WRONG!! Rows and rows of books packed so tightly that one cannot simply thumb through the titles. Every book was creased, bent and mangled. It was a sad sight to see. The books are separated by dividers that do nothing to help identify the titles. Nothing was in the appropriate space. NOTHING. You may think asking for help could remedy this challenging shop, however, I approached three different employees and walked away feeling less valuable than when I approached them. I was dismissed by the first person that had to wake up to join our conversation. The second person offered no help other than pointing me to someone that might be able to help. Well that person was honest as they said, "I truly know nothing about these comics, I just work here." Seriously!? While I had high hopes for this shop, I have to be honest, I'm not sure there's anything else that could have happened during my 45 minute visit that would have many or any worse except the fact that I found a Black Panther Zombie variant, appropriately behind the L divider and was told, "We will have to look up eBay sold listings to give you the price." Why in the world is a shop referencing eBay? If I wanted to shop eBay, with their well organized selection, clearly labeled books, and buy it now prices, I would have shopped from home. This place was too lazy to price any of their books. This place is truly a lackluster experience with no experienced staff.

I've never made a review before, but I feel like after the few visits I've had at TC's Rockets it's warranted. First... Shout out to Rob! I just started playing Magic the Gathering, and this homie took the time to answer ANY questions that I had about the game. He went into the culture of the store, the culture of the game, and tips on the best ways to get started. He not only sold the game, but he sold the store and then some. Customer service was top notch. In NO way will this review involve this team member. I cannot say the same for other team members at TC's rockets though. From a handful of calls, to quite a few in person experiences I can say with confidence, that there are some workers at this store that have been very curt, and borderline rude... I have come with friends, family, and my significant other. And each time there is some kind of uncomfortable experience I am having with one of the workers. In addition, there is some kind of way I'm having to tell the person that I'm bringing that my experiences haven't been like this before. I am not trying to get anyone in trouble, but I think it should be made clear that there is an issue when it comes to some of the stores team members way of talking to their paying/excited customers. I absolutely love the layout of the store, and I love the atmosphere that the customers always seem to bring. Once again. I really appreciate this store for many reasons. I just don't want situations where I feel nervous bringing friends/ family depending on who is working at that time. I also don't want to find another card shop, because I believe this store in particular has so much charm to it.

I absolutely love this place very friendly. Atmosphere and the staff were all great. I love it one of the very few places I found. Were they actually still have gatherings of gamers of various board games and games with maps and figurines? And it was awesome. I highly recommend it.

Lots of cool stuff in this place. We were there for Pokemon cards, but the selection was limited compared to their selection of MTG cards. Definitely worth checking out if you are into comic books, memorabilia, or role playing games.

Go to place for vintage toys, a vast array of comic books, new and popular pop-culture items such as POP figurines, action figures and game-play supplies and accessories for D&D and other games but where they shine the most is in their knowledge, inventory and expertise with “Magic the Gathering”. Their staff adeptly hosts and facilitates MTG events both big and small from tournaments to Friday Night Magic. They host pre-release parties that are a blast and always have plenty of stock when new releases come out. I have yet to find better prices for booster boxes and their prices for older set merchandise is always reasonable. Beyond the commercial aspects of their company however, their customer service is without equal. From the newest employee to the most veteran- everyone behind the counter of TC Rockets is versed in advice on tune-ups or from the start deck building, cards in their cases, and are always willing to assist you in finding anything you may want in their expansive in-house database via their computers. The only time you may find yourself not being given their undivided attention is if you are there during the beginning or the ending of a well-attended event in which case, they always excuse themselves with an explanation as to why they need to step away and either transfer you to another well- versed employee available or return promptly to finish out their interaction with you. A trip to TC Rockets has always been literally “fun” and that can only come from staff that is as enthusiastic about the place that employs them as they are about the games they themselves are long-standing players and fans of.

If the ninja exchange location is anything close to the main store then I have nothing but positive to say. The staff is really friendly and helpful and helped me get the cards I needed. Their trade in rate towards other singles is amazing and I walked out with all the cards I needed. They have an great variety of MTG packs, boxes, and singles all at a really good prices. Could not recommend them enough and shout out to the ninja exchange employees for being amazing. Will definitely be back for any MTG needs.

I've been coming to this place for years, even over at their previous location which was significantly smaller. Now that they've upgraded into a MASSIVE shop, they're really able to shine with a wide selection of collectibles, and an entire game room for those who are interested. This is one of my go to places in all of Southern California for Transformers. Their service is never lacking from my experience, and their shop always feels like a friendly community gathering. The prices are fair, often unrealistic for third party Transformers though. They also display high dollar pieces in direct sunlight which will eventually cause sun bleaching, I find that unusual. These last 2 points are the only reasons I'm not giving a 5/5, so don't hesitate to stop by! Even if it's a long drive it'll totally be worth it for you.

TC’s Rockets is a great local business with literally something the whole family can enjoy ? Comics, action figures, collectibles, card games, plushies— you will always see something new that you didn’t see in your last visit— I know I have ?!Go next door and grab a bite to eat at Rockets Pizza & Subs. My personal favorite is their Club Sandwich, way better then Jersey Mike’s oily sandwiches. They also host game tournaments and occasionally have signings and meet & greet with comic artists. Plus they put on their own type of Comic-Con every year called RocketCon. What’s NOT to love? ?

I can’t say enough about the amazing staff they have over there! Just always super friendly and always helpful, they all really go above and beyond to make sure you’re taken care of.I play magic the gathering and not only do they have a great collection of mtg cards but I can honestly say there’s no better place in Southern California for constructed magic tournaments. from the awesome rocket series monthly tournaments to the regular weekly tournaments you can always find a great game of magic pretty much any day of the week.

Amazing store. Visited recently for the Surfside Showdown by Eminence Games, hosted by TC’s Rockets. They have a pizza shop next door that does good food for relatively inexpensive. The location is decent and the play space is the largest I’ve ever seen in a retail store. This may not be THE biggest, as clearly, I’ve not been everywhere. But it was comfortably able to run a 100+ man event in tandem with a smaller 16 person event simultaneously.Staff is plenty and kind. Their trade-in rates for Magic cards, If you’re wanting to get store credit that is planned to be used in other magic singles, is the best I’ve seen. 75% in Near Mint. I do not like how they reduce the payout based on condition, by adding an additional percentage off of the cards market value instead of establishing the initial trade in value and then further adjusting based on the condition after the first calculation. The staff incorrectly stated that doing so the way they do is better for the customer.75% with an additional 20% reduction, calculated after finding 75%, is a better trade-in amount than a cumulative 55% of the same value. So if you’re trying to trade in cards that aren’t LP or better, you’re likely not going to get what you feel is fair. All this to say that I will absolutely utilize this space again if I’m ever in the area.
