La Mirada Library is a small but excellent public library located next to the police station and City Hall in La Mirada. It is known for being neat, clean, and well-organized, with a wide selection of books and DVDs inside. The library's interior has evolved over the years, moving from VHS tapes to DVDs, and it features a large children's section with newer computers, making it a great place for families and students. Visitors appreciate the helpful staff, who are friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, making each visit productive and enjoyable. The library is part of the larger Los Angeles County Library system, offering a broad range of services and products. It also hosts book and magazine sales regularly and has a "Friends of the Library" organization that helps expand its services. The library is located in a complex that includes an activity center, resource center, city hall, gymnasium, and a community splash/pool for families, with nearby attractions such as La Mirada Regional Park, a fire department, and Biola University. Many visitors find it to be a quiet, inspiring place, perfect for reading, studying, or broadening their minds, and they often comment on its modern, well-maintained facilities.
Just got a new card from here after not having one since high school (2002-2006). Much cleaner than before, very chill atmosphere, spacious, lot of computers, and a little bookstore in the library you can buy books from. I’ll be visiting more often. Actually picked up 4 really helpful gardening books, too.
