Sent a brand new $800 earth auger tool in for warranty repair - it's an essential work tool and it only lasted for 2 hours worth of work. To bad for me because I owned it for 31 days and could not bring it back after 30 days to where I bought it for a refund. I sent it to the La Mirada warranty repair and have proof it was delivered 2 weeks ago from Fed Ex. 3 weeks later and not a peep out of Makita and the tool is still listed as "pending- awaiting unit". Too bad because I like Makita tools in general, but we can't afford to have this much downtime while Makita drags their feet. They should have sent me a brand new one right away if they don't have time to repair it. My advice is to avoid Makita for heavy duty tools that you require to function.

Bought a $700 dust extractor. Didn't last a yearBought a $300 cordless worm drive saw. Didn't last a yearBought $250 worth of 5 amp hour batteries. Didn't last a yearBought $150 cordless grinder. DIDN'T. LAST. A YEAR.I've been a strictly Makita user for the past decade. Called the number regarding getting the tools repaired or replaced and was told I was SOL because I didn't have the receipts on hand despite me pointing out that the serial numbers can be referenced showing the tools are less than a year old.Makita used to be a quality tool, now its a joke.I'm switching to Milwaukee.

My 15+ year old Makita drill has been good but the chuck started making clicking sounds. Makita offered free FedEx ground shipping and returns for free repair estimate. They said I would receive an estimate within a week or so.It's been 18 days and I've called a couple times asking when I can get an estimate. Each time they said the drill has been received and in the system but could not give me any idea when I could get the repair estimate.I don't know how much the repair will cost to decide it if is worth repairing or buying a new drill? Also, how much more time is needed after the estimate to make the repair and send it back to me?I'm leaning towards buying a new drill and most likely, not another Makita due to the poor support service.

I've taken a couple of tools here. These guys are awesome and take care of you. I run two cemeteries and we pound on the tools. It's nice to know the company backs them up.

Yeah not buying Makita again. Didn’t even think this could break. Took it apart just to see what the rattle was. I’ll just buy Dewalt from now on.

After working for this company for $14 an hour everyday I can finally say that this place is a scam. They overwork temp agency employees while the full time employees sit down and mess around all day. It's a shame how the manager "George" can't be a professional manager to a big company. I felt racist vibes because I didn't speak Spanish and you could literally hear them talking about you in Spanish. Don't come work here unless your desperate and want to be taken advantage of. This company doesn't care about you... your just a temp employee to them with no chance at being hired. From the bad parking to the bad management. I can honestly say these idiots have no clue how to run a business. They cover up harassment claims against girls to protect full time employees. Be cautious working here if your a girl....

I had a problem with my drill and brought it to them to repair, The gentleman who helped me it is no longer under warranty, and then told me they would not charge me this time anyway. I was thrilled! They said it'd be done in 2 to 3 days, The next day they called me to say it would not be ready till Friday; I was so impressed that they called me to let me know that, it was very much appreciated. And now today I just went and picked it up and the gal who helped me at the desk was so nice and helpful, I enjoyed chatting with her for the moment I was there. I want to add that since Covid places I've gone to where I normally had good customer service the customer service has been horrible and it was so refreshing to walk into Makita two times and be greeted with friendly cheerful good people both times. Definitely big kudos to them! Thank you MakitA USA!!

You don’t really have a choice in regards where to service your Makita tools, but service here is bad at best. The lady at the front desk is always grumpy and would make you wait outside even if it’s 7:58 and their door is open. Some of the tools they ‘repaired’ stopped working two weeks later. Their turnaround is faster than Milwaukee, but most of the time Milwaukee would just give me a new tool instead of some clean up and lube ‘fix’.

Sent in a 2 year old drill with a broken chuck, including the origional receipt and ended up getting a call that I could pay $89 for the repair or pay for the return shipping as it was deemed out of warranty by them based on manufacture date. Obviously this company does not honor their written and well publicized 3 year warranty that clearly states thet is from date of purchase, even when a copy of the purchase receipt was provided. Had the same problem a year ago when they warranted a battery from the manufacture date instead of the purchase date, despite having original receipt.
