Got my kitten spayed here, and one of the questions asked was if I wanted to upgrade the surgical scalpel to a safer more precise blade, for around an extra 250. This did not feel ethical at all and just felt like a money grab. It really feels like a place that does not care for your pets at all, just the money. Made sure to cancel my membership and won't be returning my business here ever.

Amazing doctors. Amazing staff. They truly care for your pet. Was a first time visit for my fur baby. I will now be a forever patient. And will always recommend Banfield. Prices are decent too. Which is the icing on the cake ??

Friendly Staff, very welcoming, I took my dog to get his nails trimmed. I would like to especially thank Paula for going above and beyond her job duties. Today my dog Ruffus got loose while I was trying to put him into my Jeep. Through the glass window Paula saw and immediately ran to help me with a Banfield leash, running with me and stopping cars, I almost thought I would never see him again. As Paula handed Ruffus to me she told him, “ Good Bye Ruffus, be good and nice to your mom”. She then asked me if I was O.K. Since I fell running after him. Thank you Banfield staff and Paula for helping me catch and save my dogs life.

Warning ! Avoid this place if possible, you will literally spend at-least $200-$300 or more at every visit regardless of you having a plan with them!! . I have a puppy plan with spay included so I pay about $74 a month and I also have an adult plan for my second Frenchie so in total I pay about $120 for both a month. Every time I take my dogs in they charge me extra for everything or always suggest things to purchase and make you feel bad and I end up purchasing. Today my puppy got spayed and I only thought I'd pay about $40 tops for pain meds n nausea Medicine like I did once for my other Frenchie at Vca animal hospital (which I can't wait to go back to them) well I thought wrong I spent $200 smh I wasn't expecting that and it just sucks that we trust these places with our babies and they take advantage and over charge for everything. They even charge for the cone collar which at Vca they just gave it to us as part of the spay. I recently moved from Cerritos to this area so I kinda asked around and people said this place was good but I should've came on Yelp or google and checked the reviews. Unfortunately I have to continue coming to this facility because I still have these plans for about 10 more months but as soon as it expires I'm going to another vet, most likely to Vca. Vets are just a scam most of the time but this place is the worst and always over charges for everything! Be aware!

We have been taking our dogs and cats to Banfield La Verne since it was opened over 5 years ago. There's never been a problem or concern that Dr. V nor Dr. Nguyen could not explain to us in simple terms. We very much appreciate their high level of engagement, care and compassion for not only our pets, but for the owners. Both demonstrate the highest quality medical professionalism. I should know - I work for a healthcare organization. The doctors are patient-centric and care about providing the very best outcomes for pets. We can't imagine either of them providing less than a positive experience to anyone. Veterinary care is costly across the board; other vet practices are equally as expensive. Banfield's wellness plans makes it just a tad easier to afford pet care than others, and combined with pet health insurance, the cost of care can be made more manageable. To the Banfield staff -- please know that you are sincerely appreciated by the community. To Dr. V and Dr. Nguyen, we are thankful you are at this location and grateful for your kindness and compassion, among many other things.

Jayme-Rene van't Riet yelled at and threatened me. Wouldnot give me my dog or let me leave without her opportunity to berate me. I am following up with corporate and will make sure that she is held accountable and responsible for her behavior. She is a deranged individual who should find a different profession outside of working with animals and people. I will be a thorn in her side and banfield La Verne until this situation is rectified and she is fired.

I am so disappointed with this place. I bought their "discount plan" which they compare to pet insurance. You have to commit to a one year contract. I took my dog in for a hot spot under her chin and they told me it would cost $126 to shave the are and check for bacteria, I agreed and they took my dog back. You have to leave and aren't able to stay with your pet no matter what. They called me 5 hours (why so long to tell me there is a problem) later and told me the spot was too sensitive and they needed to sedate her to shave the area and wanted to charge me over $1,000! After questioning the cost, they lowered to $341 then called me back and said $500 because they needed a blood sample. They are way overpriced and I hate that you can't stay with your pet and they always ask for more money for additional services. It's like taking your car to jiffy lube, "but you also need...". I picked up my poor dog and paid her $126 bail for the work I agreed to that didn't truly get done. Every time I take my dog, unless it's for vaccines, I have a problem. I tried to cancel my plan but they are holding me hostage to the monthly charge to receive their discount. I guess I am stuck paying almost $70 a month for nothing because I won't go back there! I will take my dog to a vet that has customer service, love and compassion!

The whole crew in La Verne is absolutely fantastic. They love my kitties like I do and I can always trust them to take good care of my babies even if that means they aren't able to complete everything needed because my cat has reached her tolerance limit. Great group! Highly recommend.

Overpriced and overpopulated; on 11-22-22 they had 30 pets being cared for. There is one person doing all the check ins and check outs which means appointment times are irrelevant: expect 20 to 30 minute waits. Prices are high and many services are extra, even with the steep yearly fee. If your pet has preexisting conditions, you will be out of pocket about the same as with a smaller practice which likely going to have much better and personal service.

I went there to discuss getting an appointment for my Auntie's dog, our dog now, because she passed on July 5th at the age of 92. Rocky has been on Trifexis which is a once a month pill for flea & tick control & also a heartworm preventative which is very important because we live in the mountains. He would be due for his monthly dose in a few days & we figured he would have to be examined before they would dispense the medicine. The receptionist said they wouldn't have any appointments available until November unless we wanted to drop him off at the clinic in the morning the following week. Not very accommodating & why would we even consider dropping him off at a strange place, leaving him there for hours when he's already traumatized because his owner just passed away, he's getting used to living in another house & just leaving him there would just be on the cruel side. I explained that to the gal & it didn't phase her a bit. She said we were welcome to check other Banfield Pet Hospitals in the area to see if they had appointments available. However, she couldn't provide me with any phone numbers or locations & that I would just have to look them up on the internet. That girl needs some schooling in the compassion department.

Great location! Although they are a busy, they are also passionate, and diligent. We always feel the care they provide our pup, and our doggo feels it too. Our concerns are always address right here.I have used several other locations (Walnut, Covina, and West Covina) and this is by far my favorite. The level of care stands out.I would like to note that they are a busy location, so schedule and plan accordingly. On my most recent visit, it was visible that more staff was needed. They team there handled the rush like pros! However, working in that type of environment can lead to quick employee burn out. Nonetheless, great work guys! We appreciate you taking care of our little boy!
