Tommy's Coin Depot has the most knowledgeable numismatists in Southern California. Prices are fair and they have a very, very good selection of coins.

Good prices paid. Not much of a personality and I felt like they were watching me like I was about to rob the place. Other than that it was a good place to sell coins.

Was able to sit down with the owner and have him look through about 150-200 coins and I didn't feel rushed at all. Ended up selling the entire binder for decent money. I would say is on the mid to upper end of what brick and morter shops will pay these days, so as long as you don't go in expecting get what you could vs. Selling online. I feel safe saying you won't leave feeling cheated. I am actually going to see what it would cost to but the whole thing back 48hrs after selling it, and that will speak volumes for what kind of business to expect from this coin store in the future. Everybody that works there seemed to be offering the other customers excellent service and sounded to be well educated innumismatics, which is refreshing to see. Overall I would definately make the trip to the actual store and check it out, you will be grateful for the advice I'm sure.

This was an awesome real coin shop with knowledgeable employees that not only understand the art of collecting coins but also collect themselves I had an excellent experience here brought my children and the employee I was working with gave all three of my kids some foreign coins it was very nice everything I ask to see I got to hold and touch every question I asked was answered just and excellent experience I end up buying a few things just great to see a coin shop run like they are suppose to.

Saw the other reviews but wanted to give this store a chance. Came in with my kids to start their coin collection and overheard conversations/witnessed behavior towards employees that weren't appropriate for my kids to see. Coin depot looks like a great store but honestly disappointed in my experience.

I have been doing business with this shop for many years now; I usually have about a dozen high dollar items on consignment here. Now I am genuinely considering pulling everything because of something horrible I saw. At first I was excited to hear that there was a new owner, I thought things would finally start to look better for this shop. However, I couldn't have been more wrong. I'm in the store for less than 10 seconds when I hear the new owner, who definitely gives off "that guy" vibes, just start screaming and cussing out this young female employee. I mean he is purple faced screaming in front of everyone and she's literally bawling her eyes out and he won't let up. The worst part was, she had done nothing wrong as far as I could tell. Then, before I left, he started screaming at the nice old man who's always worked the counter. Again, over nothing as far as I could tell. With all this, I have had to seriously reconsider my business with this place and I will most likely be pulling all my items from consignment because I'm afraid the new owner will use them in retaliation against me. P.S. to young female employee: I hope you're okay and I just want you to know that you're a good person and you shouldn't have to take it from that corpulent, disgusting creep.

Honestly this store seems to be going downhill after the new owner took over. I came in yesterday and was very disappointed seeing how the owner, "Tom" treats his employees. He had yelled at the young girl in front of all the customers about her being off-task momentarily. I understand wanting things done in an orderly fashion, however humiliating young employees over minor things seems very unprofessional. Other customers agreed that his actions weren't okay and not how you treat your employees. We all saw her holding back tears as she continued with working, like she was in fear of being yelled at again. Anyways, the store has reasonable prices and cool finds. You never know what you'll come across at the Depot.

Came here to purchase some notes and was interested in purchasing 2 notes I found well priced. I was reviewing their quality but could not stop overhearing some older man flirting with a young girl that seems to work here who is clearly under age, and the older man proceeds to talk loudly about politics and how things would be much better with Trump around. i personally do not come to these stores to overhear politics so I left without purchasing anything. Not sure if the owner supports this kind of environment but i'll take my business elsewhere. The prices here are fair and they carry some nice notes which is the only reason this is not a 1 star review.
