“It's such a warm and welcoming environment. The teachers are non-judgmental and supportive of both kids and parents, and it's clear they genuinely care about each and every child. When you work in the classroom, it's so nice to get to know other kids and see your child in action.
Beyond that, it feels like the school is built for families, not just kids. Having purpose in the classroom connects you to other parents in a way that doesn't seem possible anywhere else. Housekeeping days, fundraising events, parent education, school participation at city events...they all help us feel like we're part of a community.”
“We have three kids who have all attended Old Firehouse School and it has been such a wonderful experience for our family.
What stands out most is the consistency of care. The Primary Caregiving Model, where kids stay with the same teacher and peer group for multiple years, has made a real difference for our kids. Not having to start over and rebuild trust every year means they just get to keep growing with people they already know.
It’s not just their own teacher who knows them either — walking through those doors, every staff member knows every kid by name. It feels like a real community. The teachers clearly love what they do, the curriculum is thoughtful, and the class projects are genuinely special.
We’d recommend OFS to anyone looking for a great preschool.”
“If you’re looking for a great preschool, I can’t recommend Building Bridges enough! The teachers are so much fun and the curriculum is top-notch—my child actually comes home excited to share what they’ve learned. They do a wonderful job teaching kindness and responsibility, and their seasonal school events are always a highlight. A huge bonus: they host Parents' Night Out events where siblings over 12 months can join too! It’s such a supportive, engaging environment”
“We have two children now at Gan Ilan and we have had such a positive experience. The teachers are warm, knowledgeable and communicative. The kids spend so much time engaged in creative play, especially outside in the garden. The school makes a wonderful effort to build community among families and we have made so many close friends. We are so happy with the quality of this school and its Jewish programming and will certainly be staying there when our next child is ready to start preschool.”
