was walking down to the beach and happened to stumble upon the cutest vintage shop i've ever seen!!! wonderfully sweet smooth jazz and old songs from the 20s playing in there which really adds to the old and antique aesthetic. so many beautiful wood, porcelain, and glass little objects to look through. books, chairs, pots and pans, this store has it all. i've been on the hunt for a pipe and this store had exactly what i needed and for a good price too! on top of that, the ladies who own the store are like the sweetest ladies i've ever met. i could spend hours and hours here just looking through the extensive selection of items they have here. i love this place and i think everyone should visit!!

Melange is a charming adventure! Katherine and niece Julia know the whereabouts, and usually the history, of every varied and eclectic treasure they have selected to join them in the melange, collection/mixture, of their wonderful shop. The care it takes to move gently in the oh-so-full space, requires peering, studying, seeking, really looking into the corners and crevices for the treasures with your name. It is indeed like leisurely enjoying a fine meal with curated service conceived for pure pleasure. Alas, as travelers, limited carrying capacity was all that stopped us from emptying a few of their shelves and a large portion of our discretionary spending. But there is that one thing that is still on my mind, and I'll call to check on possible shipping. Come in and enjoy, the shop, the shoppers, the owner and family!!!

Everything is gorgeous, but there's no arrogance or stuffiness about the staff. Buying items is easy and you get the whole story on your choice. The cost isn't prohibitive either.

Melange is my all-time FAVORITE antiques/art/eclectic store carrying unique treasures (furniture, silver, rugs, paintings, china, glass, mid-century, contemporary, etc.) from FOUR centuries: 18th/19th/20th & 21st...there are even some pre-historic items for sale!! You can't let a bull loose in there. It's wonderfully stocked to the ceiling with unique merchandise from all over the world. In one little shopping spree I found a Baby Krishna Temple Toy, a Buddha inspired necklace, a small Chinese rug, a mid-century vase and some contemporary bar tools. I hit the jackpot and finished my Xmas list in one place! Please call ahead to see if Melange is Open or even schedule an Appointment to do some private shopping. You are in for a SPECIAL TREAT!!

Best to call first. Arrived around 1pm and store was closed. Looked like they had great stuff but frustrating to have made the trip and not be able to go in. A local shopkeep said they have been closed a lot. Parking it tough and costs money. Wasted time and quarters.

Such a treasure trove of antiques!!! I planned ahead to come to this amazing shop and called in advance to make sure it was open. I can't believe the array of items in this special store, and especially love the collection of Asian antiques which includes an impressive amount of Imari and (what I think is called) Rose Medalian patterns of antique china. The owner is very sweet and is clearly passionate about her antiques. She got as excited as I did when I discovered a gorgeous set of sterling silver demitasse spoons, which I scored for a reasonable price. I look forward to returning and discovering more! I do recommend calling in advance as I once drove up eagerly on a day she was closed and probably fogged up the window like a kid in a candy store window wanting 'in'. ;-)

LOVE, love, love this shop! Unique, wonderful finds beautifully displayed. p.s. Was shocked to see an unfavorable review. The owner (and her parents before her) have run an antique shop here since the 1960s. The whole family is warm and charming; and much loved.

We are visitors to laguna beach and saw others sitting on these chairs in front of some shoppes. We came back from the beach and rested for a minute not realizing we werent supposed to sit in the chairs having seen others do it. There is no sign saying display only. The lady who runs this store is very very rude and said "are you planning on buying the chairs? you need to have manners wherever you are". I said, "oh im sorry we didnt realize" and she was a really big b**** saying we need to have manners. I just went in there and told her that we aren't from California and she should be more polite and she still acted like a b**** and said "i dont care" and tried slamming the door in my face. This sour lady needs to learn some manners herself and customer service. The other shorter lady was even embarrassed at this woman. I apologized to the other lady for sitting on the chairs and suggested she put out a sign and she said it was alright. I told her that lady needs an attitude adjustment and to learn her manners.
