I am responding to the review that Ms. Yost posted. I know these people personally and know that this is not the case with Care Plus. In addition, the going rate for 24 hour caregiving can easily go as high as $1000 per day. This is the result of a ninth circuit federal court decision in 2016 that did not allow a sleep exclusion for "live in" care givers which resulted in prices having to be increased to cover the cost of overtime for legitimate care giving agencies (like Care Plus) who cover payroll taxes, workers compensation and liability insurance. Unlike many providers of homecare aids that, to save costs, do not follow California employment laws. Care Plus does not discriminate. We do our best at matching a caregiver with the client. Please understand that caregivers also have the freedom to choose whom they will take on as a client. We must respect that right.

It is interesting how people have different reviews of Careplus Nursing. Myrene who received glowing reviews in the last review, flat out abandoned my mother and our family. She did not return calls and lied about not being able to find care because my mother is a smoker. And to boot, charging over a $1000 dollars a day - highway robbery! We found a kind and loving care taking service, that did not discriminate my mom for being a smoker and welcomed the opportunity to help someone that is dying and at a much more reasonable price and not prey on a family that was in crisis. STAY FAR away from Care Plus Nursing and Myrene.

Completely happy with the services of Care Plus Home Care, Manager Mairene Wessel in helping my 96-year-old mother utilize her long-term care insurance. Our family knew nothing about how it was to work, how to handle the paperwork, how to interact with the assigned caregivers. Mairene handled it all with excellent knowledgeable, immediate response to our texts, patience and kindness. She really knows how to manage the process while giving both the elderly and the caregivers support and encouragement. Thank you, Mairene! Our whole family appreciates you!

It is very evident that the people that work in Home Health, Hospice, and Home Care are caring and compassionate. They take the time to listen and address any concerns you have.

Care Plus nursing services is great.!! My mom is being taken care of by Care Plus hospice. The nurses are very knowledgeable, and have taught me how to take care of mom. They offer several services and all of the staff that I have encountered have been extraordinary. My favorite service is the volunteers that come to my home because I can get some rest and relaxation. The people that have come either read to my mother or play music and nicely spend time with her!

Myrene, the woman who runs this business, is an angel. Truly. She's a person who has been on the patient end of things so I just can't say enough about her skillset to get you the services you need, and QUICK, but not sell you something and never ever oversell, or over provide in amount or duration, what your or your loved one needs. She is is thorough and so it her staff. Myrene has incredible empathy and understanding and when you explain the situation she is really great at knowing the need, and in a way where nothing gets missed, again, because she has been patient herself needing the kind of care her business provides. I called her and within a couple of hours she had everything lined up and sent a wonderful overnight caregiver to my mom who is in assisted living but had just returned from the hospital and bc of Covid I wasn't able to stay overnight and watch over her and just BE THERE in that all-night fashion to anticipate & prevent my mom from getting up by herself. A single caretaker stayed up all night watching over my mom (she even did some laundry and tidying) and Myrene had all the nights covered with just 2 diff people who, each morning, provided their boss (Myrene) with a detailed report of all that happened, creating a pattern to watch as my mom worked her way back to a more regular sleep pattern, all the while having someone constantly there to look out for her and help when needed. Being in assisted care, my mom was already used to having help, but she felt that extra care of having someone there to anticipate & assist instead of having to push the button & wait for help - the help was right there - and that gave my mom a really good and secure feeling Myrene & talked every single morning (because that's what I wanted) to plan for the next night and always with a gameplan and criteria for discontinuation of services. She is INCREDIBLY ethical in her approach that she is not out to financially drain you so she always comes the approach of "just enough" but never selling services or trying to keep you coming back for more. I appreciated that SO much and she was like that from the very first phone call and every day. I just can't say enough about her style, competence and management and her staff. I got to meet with the first caretaker before she started her shift and that was also really nice. She was terrific and kind, and my mom told me in the next following days that the caretaker was really nice and that she felt secure knowing that someone was there so easily. She did a great job at attending to her if she had any kind of needs (bathroom or in/bed changing) and then letting her go back to sleep asap, so less disruption to her sleep as she tried to get back to normal. For my mom she's got a huge history of falling so doing things in bed in the middle of the night was about keeping her safe and letting her regain some strength without constantly getting up. Myrene's company provides all kinds of help (day or night). She has also worked with different care facilities for years and years, knows their people and can work in tandem with them in verifying what to provide, when to start and updating daily and communicating directly with you and them to evaluate and then coordinate the right time to change or stop her services (and have the daily reports and history to have substance to all of that evaluating process), and again, she's not out to indenture you to her - exactly the opposite. My mom's been in assisted section where she lives but her care had to increase recently last year & The Wellington is a fantastic place & their "assisted living" wing provides EXCELLENT healthcare & monitoring (everyone has an alert device), but if you need a CONSTANT presence for some hours, or maybe for a spell, you have to hire privately. CarePlus has great people you can access IMMEDIATELY! Thanks Myrene!

Care Plus served my mother for a period of 10+ years. The caregivers were very kind and attentive to my mother's needs. The office staff, notably Mairene, was also helpful and pleasant in person and on the phone. I highly recommend their services.

Update: I just saw what they charged medicare and it's outrageous. I didn't even get real PT or OT just assistants and they charged over double what St. Joseph charged for an actual real Physical Therapist who knew what she was doing. You don't have an occupational therapist do PT on shoulders. He had no idea what he was doing, didn't have the correct equipment. I'm getting the bill then call the gov.

I am writing this review to share the unethical practice I experienced through my interaction with Amy Tamayo, a "care" manager with Care Plus in Laguna Hills, California. I do not gain satisfaction from expressing my discontent, however as a business owner myself it is important to distinguish my service for having the utmost integrity, compassion and respect. In the home care industry, these are held in the highest regards as one considers who will care for their loved ones in the latter years of their life. My experience with Amy Tamayo did not leave me with the impression that she, or Care Plus, share my interest in exemplifying the highest standard of service. Amy expressed unethical behavior through her words and actions that left me with a sour feeling about the service that is being provided by Care Plus. This unprofessional conduct is not one that I am willing to do further business with or recommend to my friends or family. Thank you for listening.
