I'm only giving one star because of the gentleman across the room who acknowledged me when I was standing there for a few minutes. There were no other people in there, and the lady (who, unfortunately, I didn't get the name of) was on her phone the entire time. She was the only person in the front, but didn't realize I had walked in. Once she heard the gentleman welcome me, she said she couldn't help me with my transaction (which I understood) but when I asked her for more information about where to go, she rudely told me to "look it up on my phone because she didn't know". Again, I tried to understand why she'd say that, but she could have asked a colleague, or been nicer.

The banks website says they have good savings rate, so I want to find out what is the rate and open an account with them. No one answered at the branch, my call was transferred, took over 20 minutes to get to a person but I couldn't understand a word she was saying, so I asked what country she was in, she said it was in the Philippines, then she said she couldn't understand me also. Then she put me on hold! What kind of service is that? I would never want to deal with Citibank again!

Place is a joke. I've cashed multiple checks here in 2023 over $5k and all of a sudden today because I'm now a customer, they can't cash the check anymore. I run into issues with them all the time. Oh and the check I'm trying to cash is from their own damn bank.

Beware Investment Advisors at Citi. Last Dec 2021, citi branch setup my mom to get investment advise. Advisor Anna persuade my mom to invest all her svgs into a Franklin municipal bond fund. Less than 1 mos, the fund dropped over $5k, and by 5th mos, it dropped $16k more than 11%. Noted my mom is 81 yrs old, do not speak English, and has NO grammar school, not any investment background. I filed a compliant to Citi investigation team. What it came back was she was in suitable investment because her tolerance level is "moderate", and investment knowledge is "moderate". How on earth does a 81 yrs old widow evaluated as "moderate" risk + experienced investor? Then I find out the decision of "suitable fit" was based on "new acct form" she signed. Anna asked my mom signed an open account form (in English), computer-typed by her, ck box "moderate" investment exp, and moderate risk. So my mom never knew what she signed, but was told in chinese that it was an open account form.I was present, and I did asked "shouldn't we wait until next year because Fed is increasing rate, and wouldn't this bond fund goes down?" Anna replied, she followed this fund over 20yrs, and it is very safe and will go back up eventually if it goes down one year. So far, my mom has lost $16,000 over 11% in this fund within 6 mos. And I later find out citi advisors receives commission from clients and being year-end, advisors must be desperate to meet quotas. Also, Please be aware there is no such thing as "Compliant dept" because there is no person's name who email you nor contact phone no. (Only they can talk justify they're right, but you can never talk to anyone! ) When you call and file a compliant, they take your compliant and after 1-mo reply your email with some ridiculous excuses that your investment is right fit, it is just your bad luck investing on the market. BE AWARE OF THE AGENT, "ANNA L"She service Arcadia, Irvine, SG valley. I had to trace her 3 branches to find her#.

First I wish that Yelp had the ability to have negative stars rather than just one. The experience that I have had with this branch and bank in general is the worst mistake ever. The very rude, unfriendly, unhelpful, and flat out worst manager to be in a position to help customers HELEN A RODRIGUEZ branch manager NMLS ID# 727612. I went to pay a balance to a fraud that A I showed proof that I was not the one who made purchases even showed my time sheets proving I was at work and police report yet I still had to pay, but I digress. After they put me through the damn check systems my account was closed At my now better bank. Once I went to this branch and paid the balance HELEN refused to give me a receipt, refused to give me anything proving I have paid the BS balance. When I asked if she can call anyone that can help her print out a receipt she flat out declined to call anyone. I wonder how she would feel if I had refused to help her at a hospital or clinic? I paid this on 1/3/20 and stilllllll have gotten nothing with Citi by phone or another branch or by mail. I finally called and asked if a supervisor can help and she transferred me back to Helen who stated "Oh I remember you" with the most sarcastic voice ever. Now 4 days in and I still can't get anywhere with this damn bank and now unable to get to my money because of this place. If you unfortunately have Citi bank don't come here unless you want to wait 30 min in a line to be cut off by someone else and to be un helped and be treated like a bother and a freaking POS. And Helen I hope you learn how to be a better person and especially a better supervisor.

They make you wait in line if your not a customer that is marked no members. Then you have to wait till line in members is done first. So you can be next in line but people keep coming in that are member you can be standing there for over 45 min! So stupid! Would never bank at Citibank just for this fact alone. You guys are horrible .

Just to be clear. I don't have an account with Citibank and never want one after this horrible experience. I was treated like vagrant trash! I went to this branch because I was told by another branch that they were authorized to cash a check issued by an account holder in Citibank. They could not cast this check for under $200 since I had no account with them. At this branch they had a line that was posted as "Check cashing for non account holders". I waited there and they said that I had to wait until there were absolutely no account holders to be served in the lobby. There was only one teller on a Friday with two others that did not open a window. After serving two people I told them I wanted my check cashed now since I was here before the others in the lobby. They told me I had to wait until after the last account holder entered. On and on it would go until no account holder was there to be served!!! I told them no that was not right! The woman in charge called the police!!! The one teller said he was only following orders! Remember that Nazis said the same thing! I can only hope that Citibank shrivels and dies a slow death. I will not accept any checks from their bank again. I really want to rate them as a MINUS. See the review by Yelper. I am well over 70 and an Army veteran This kind of treatment is beyond any moral reasoning!

I had to cash a check in this bank, waited in the line, and I was then told to go to a "wait line", and they would get to me when all of their customers were helped and no longer in the building. This took forever as more customers kept entering. Then all the tellers but one went on break. I am over 65, have had knee replacement surgery and both hips replaced. I can honestly say I will never set foot, knees or hips in that establishment again, I don't want the punishment. God forbid if I were to have a business account there and one of my clients had to go there to cash a non member check! If you are considering opening an account at this bank remember that wise saying: to really see who someone is, watch how they treat those that they have nothing to gain from.

I applied for a secured credit card thru Citi and was approved. Next I got a series of letters string I'm approved for 1000.00 secured limit. Then I get a card in the mail which I activated as instructed only to be declined at a store a day later. After calling Citi and waiting on hold for 20 min for a supervisor I was told that they can't tell me why the card was declined, they just say my account was closed. Why waste my time and send all these letters? DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE THIEVES

I use this mostly to make payments at the ATM. I rarely have to go inside, but if I do they are very helpful. Sometimes there is a long line.

I wanted to make a cash deposit to my account this morning at this branch, there was one customer ahead of me, and only one teller. There must me 5 bank employees in the lobby, chatting and laughing, but no one wanted to help me making the deposit. They wanted me to wait for the teller. 15 minutes later, another teller was escorted by the lobby manager to help me w the deposit. I just do not understand what kind of service this is !!!

I cannot believe the customer service of Citibank. I deposited cash in ATM on Wednesday night, the cash was "rejected". I went in the branch the next day and they knew exactly what happened and called the customer service to report the incident. I was told I will get my money the following day. Following day no money and I again went into branch and was told it is under investigation and nothing they can do for me, even the branch manager who told them they had the money and it has been put in a GL account. I called customer service myself and they told me ok the refund is approved and I will have it tomorrow. Of course tomorrow came and still no funds. To make a long story "short" this is following Wednesday and the case is still "pending ". I can only suggest that please DO NOT deposit into Citibank.

I appreciate the bank managers efforts to make things right. I have been with this branch for many years and our previous experience was about a fairly new banker. We have gotten excellent service from the senior bank teller and manager.
