My wife and I were discriminated against and were victims of ethnic profiling by the vice president of this bank, a Mr. Leahy, who treated us like criminals at Farmers & Merchants in Laguna Hills. This is obviously not the first time something like this has occurred at F&M Bank, as there is another review on Yelp that suggests we are not unique in our experience. Due to this discrimination and profiling, Mr. Leahy proceeded to wrongfully accuse us of dishonest intentions that simply did not exist nor take place on our part. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life with any company and left me feeling sick to my stomach and my wife traumatized. Do yourself a favor and steer completely clear of this bank and their VP Mr. Leahy, who should be ashamed of himself for his unethical discrimination and profiling tactics and treatment of us. Shame on you Mr. Leahy!

The manager at this bank is extremely rude, judgmental and treated me like dirt when I came to Farmers and Merchants bank in Laguna Hills to open an account. What happened to being nice to your customers and treating them with dignity and respect? Horrible customer service and bank.

This bank is amazing. They are not only excellent and efficient in their delivery of services, but the bank is like the lobby of a five star hotel. We recently moved our accounts from our previous bank, who are "woke" and inefficient, to Farmers and Merchants, who are the opposite of "woke". All of the employees we have encountered have been more than helpful and friendly. Thank you Ida Baker, David Leahy and the manager, Michael. We appreciate your personalized attention and friendly interactions. You are the best.

This review is only in regard to the Laguna Hills branch and my experience with the operations manager there by the name of Ada or Ida. All I can say is that I went in there with the best intentions, and this lady treated me like I was some sort of criminal. It was unbelievable. Here I was with a large cashiers check and she felt the need to harass me. I hope I never have to deal with that lady again. Ultimately I called the issuing bank and she begrudgingly spoke with the manager there and said ok, but not after she said she was putting a hold on it! The other bank manager actually told me take all of my money out of that bank and go to someplace else where they treat you like nicely. I can take a lot of crap but this lady is completely over the top. She ought to be fired. The other people that I dealt with their on higher levels were pleasant I do have to mention

I came to Farmers and Merchants Bank in the midst of the Corona Virus shut down. My other bank treated me like I had leprosy. I opened a business account and was able to immediately apply for a SBA payroll protection plan loan. Joaquin Sanchez was incredibly nice to work with in opening the account and the branch manager David Leahey was nothing short of spectacular in making sure we got in line and funded with the loan. David was extremely efficient and I feel good about having our money safely in this bank. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Try them, I think you too will be happy.

I really have to say that it paid off having a relationship with a community bank, during the pandemic. Michael Bueche, really took good care of me. I applied for a small business loan to help me during this time, but he treated me as if I were one of his big customers. He was responsive and did what he said he would do. He is truly a good guy-you can't fake sincerity. My loan was approved and it funded very fast and I have yet to get anyone at the big banks to even answer the phone. The whole branch has a genuine feel to it, from the branch manager down to the tellers. Thank you guys-you really came through!

Became excessive fees. I had business accounts with them for over 20 years. Recently closed them all as they love billing fees for most everything. Not competitive with other Banks. Usbank and Coamerica bank do not have the fees . They are pretty much free. And as for building a relationship with the bank to help business, there is so much employee turnover at my local branch, I only know one person who was there more than 2 years ago.

David Leahy has been a life saver for us over the last year. There is so much to say about what he has done, but I could only describe his service as above and beyond times a million. He has helped us through a very difficult time by providing the most personal and helpful service that is unimaginable.

Farmers & Merchants Bank has treated me with the highest level of kindness, respect and professionalism and I would give them six stars if I could. From the first moment I called the branch (and the bank manager David answered the phone himself) and then walked into the bank I could tell there was something very different about this organization. The environment was inviting and comfortable and the employees and customers were chatting and smiling. I was warmly welcomed by David then he introduced me to Bill who handled everything for me and they even stayed 30 mins after closing to finish my account setup! I just can't say enough good things about my experience working with them so the next time you need business banking services call F&M Bank! They are knowledgeable, professional, kind and operate their business with the highest level of customer service. They really are doing business the way very few others do and the way I wish everyone else in the banking world would.

The branch manager Blane Nelson helped me. I was helping my friend a Korean war veteran who has been hospitalized. This manager was so kind. I cannot recommend him high enough! Thank you Blane for your kindness to Charles. And I will recommend your bank to all I know. Bless you

I have been banking with Farmer's & Merchants bank since August 2017 and I am so happy I stumbled upon this gem. Ernesto, Bernice, Ada, Echo and Virginia all make my banking experience such a pleasure every time I go into this branch. As a busy business owner, there are many times I come running through the door at 4:59 pm and they are more than happy to help me with my banking needs. They never make me feel rushed and make sure I am their priority whenever I am being taken care of. Whenever you walk into this branch you will be greeted with a smiling face and warm welcome. The best part is there are hardly ever any lines and if there are, it is a short wait before you are helped. If you are on the fence of deciding which bank to bank with, I would recommend this bank and branch especially if you are in the Laguna Hills area. The facility itself is very big and always clean. There is ample parking in this parking lot as well. Also, a little birdy told me they have cookies on Friday's! :)

I love this bank. I have some ideas for how the place could be updated visually (that's my trade) but I can't think of any areas that need improvement customer service-wise. Terms are fair and favorable to a small business like ours. The management does an excellent job of maintaining a highly personal and friendly atmosphere, there are never really any teller lines and anyone you end up dealing with (who is not actively in training) is sure to be well-trained and well-mannered. My merchant services contact (for credit card terminals and stuff) is also great. I've interacted with all the employees the other Yelpers have mentioned in their previous reviews and the compliments they have been given are all deserved. The main things I want out of a bank are professionalism and a sense of dignity, both of which F&M supplies. There is also a fellow fan of the oft-underappreciated Taylor Dayne who works there, which is the icing on the cake for me. Nobody else seems to care about that, unfortunately.
