The owner not responding says everything (over a month later). They had other people write about Damon to cover up me and another members experience with him. (Each review mentions Damon's name after my review). They speak so much about family and community but don't respond to someone who put their heart into this gym and made friends here. This is all you need to know.

I have been a dedicated member of STORM gym for the past three years, and my experience here has been nothing short of transformative. Before joining STORM, I had tried two other gyms in the OC area, and unfortunately, my fitness journey was marred by a meniscus injury resulting from improper training routines at my previous gym.When I switched to STORM, I realized the significant impact a skilled coach can have on a person's fitness journey. Attending STORM 3-4 times a week, I have found the staff to be not only professional but also approachable, genuinely invested in helping me achieve my goals and monitoring my progress.Upon purchasing Personal Training (PT) classes to improve my Muay Thai skills, I discovered that my previous meniscus injury was preventing me from progressing. My injury and COVID-19 challenges caused me to miss many training days. I was committed to getting back on my feet, so I had meniscus surgery, and after physical therapy, returned to STORM with a new outlook.Upon my return, the coaches at STORM demonstrated unparalleled support. I candidly shared my situation, and they promptly modified exercises to accommodate my current abilities. Their guidance helped me slowly regain my confidence and strength. Due to my health setbacks, I had PT classes that were paid for, but not used, and I felt uncertain when the coach I initially worked with wasn't at the gym anymore. After a conversation with Damon, the owner, I was able to confirm my paid hours and arrange personalized workouts with a new coach. Damon's commitment to ensuring my return to peak condition so that I could resume sparring in Muay Thai was truly commendable.Navigating sparring classes as an "older" participant can be challenging, but the attentive coaches at STORM always pair me with students of similar capabilities. Their commitment to fostering a supportive environment where individuals of all ages can thrive is expressed through this personalized approach.The gym's cleanliness, thoughtful layout, and a roster of exceptional coaches make it an ideal setting for anyone looking to embark on a fitness journey or take their existing one to new heights. Damon is very attentive,provides great customer service & does a phenomenal job at providing customers with a clean and safe environment for individuals of all ages. Whats even better is that the entire team is invested in helping you reach your goals. As a parent there are certain things I was looking for when searching for a membership for my son. At the top of the list was my child's safety,trustworthiness,communication,and collaboration. Coach Peter Malagon did a wonderful job in providing all of them. Coach Peter showed great coaching skills by monitoring his weight loss, teaching my son the means of being goal oriented, has been a great mentor and role model.Highlights and accomplishments:Weight loss: started at 225lbs down to 168Developed healthy eating habits.Gained nutritional knowledgeShowed improvement In his self-esteem, discipline and time management.Competed in the IFS 69 event with a WIN.They say a picture is worth a thousand words and that is why I had to share this one with you. Thank you to Damon for running such a great training center,Coach Peter and the rest of the team.

Started training at this gym in 2019, and the experience has been transformative. Damon's expertise and personalized approach create a motivating environment. Damon has a deep understanding of rehabilitation principles and works closely with clients to design customized programs. His expertise has played a pivotal role in my recovery, making the journey back to fitness both safe and effective. The diverse workouts keep things engaging, and I've seen significant progress in my fitness journey. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a supportive and effective fitness community.

I've been training frequently at Storm for about 3 months and I've had an excellent experience. The facilities and equipment are extremely clean and well-maintained. Every interaction I've had with the staff has been polite, friendly, respectful, and welcoming. The owner, Damon has taken the time to chat with me and seems like he genuinely cares about helping people. Every interaction I've had with other students has been friendly and respectful as well. It's a very family-oriented gym, and the clientele is quite diverse, ranging from young kids, to high-school and college students, a wide range of adults, and some older folks as well. The boxing and kickboxing classes are high-energy with music, focusing on bag work, body-weight exercises, and conditioning. The coaches I've worked with have good technique and will help students out with skill pointers and provide friendly encouragement, and are very accommodating if people have physical limitations. There tends to be a greater emphasis on getting a good workout than rigorous attention to technique, but that's fine for the vast majority of folks in these classes -- people learn at their own pace. Each coach has their own style, the workouts are fun, and they tend to mix things up to keep them fresh. If students are more interested in technique, there are muay thai and boxing technique & sparring classes, which emphasize drills and light sparring. There are no sparring wars from what I've seen. The coaches also offer 1:1 private lessons. This is not a professional fight gym, but it doesn't try to be. They train a few amateur fighters, primarily in boxing, and the coaching seems serious from what I've observed. The sparring classes have men and women students. I used to compete in boxing and muay thai for many years, and taught classes at another gym in California. I've trained at many different gyms, and I've seen a wide range of coaches. So far, I've only attended the muay thai sparring classes and had good experiences. I have not yet attended the boxing sparring classes or jiu-jitsu, so I can't speak to those.Coach Peter is a professional fighter who runs most of the muay thai classes, and does a good job of keeping the sparring safe and controlled while ensuring that students are appropriately partnered up based on size and skill level. From what I have observed, he is cheerful, treats students with respect, and spends time with new students to help get them acclimated. When I've sparred, Peter provided us with solid technical advice.When the sparring classes have been taught by other coaches such as Che or Napoleon, they have been great as well, providing an appropriate level of technique-focused drills and light sparring.

I've been training at storm now for over 4 years, and can say it's been one of the most positive things in my life. Personal training with Denis for years now has also been an absolute blast. I travel a lot for business and it's one of the best investments I've made. Your health is the most important thing, and the team here actually cares. I've also been a member at equinox and lifetime for years before and never had any standoff or bad vibes you'd get there. I encourage anyone to try as much as you can in fitness and have fun. Love all the good times and training storm.

From a facility standpoint this gym is very good but the 'we treat you as a part of a family' mantra only works when they know they can make money out of you. I trained at this gym for 3 years, did PTs directly with the owner and had a good faith agreement on carrying over our sessions. When a personal situation required me to move out of California and the USA, is when things did a 180. Even though I had given a few months notice on how many unused sessions I had, the conversation around next steps was delayed till the last possible day. On the last day I was told he had miscalculated the numbers and wanted a little time to sort out the finances. It was a sizeable amount but since we had developed a close friendship I agreed and gave him a few weeks to settle things. But after that any attempt to initiate conversation was deflected or ignored and finally led to him ghosting me. No conversation, no amicable way of handling, nothing. After months of no response, when I sent my 5 foot tiny girlfriend to just initiate a conversation on my behalf, she was intimidated and threatened. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I was given some money back (probably so I didn't initiate any legal recourse) but I have decided to let the rest go because no amount of money is worth a friend feeling unsafe. I knew they had lost quite a few long-timers and coaches because of a change in strategy. I also know that each case where there was even the slightest displeasure was dealt with extremely poorly. And meticulous care had been taken to make sure the news and feedback was kept quiet. Never did I expect to be a part of the group but hopefully you can learn from my experience.

One of the biggest rip offs! Got a one week pass to see what justifies the $150 monthly cost. I didn't see anything spectacular. Gym closes early. Classes are never convenient, and there is nothing at Storm gym that isn't available at any other UFC gym which actually costs far LES$ than Storm, has far more locations, open longer hours, and has FAR better martial art classes than Storm. In fact the only reason I can think of to justify the $150 monthly fee is that the sales reps are. ALL seriously ripping off its members. They literally didn't stop calling and nagging me after I. declined a membership and told them that UFC gym was a better value and a better gym than Storm. Sorry but this Storm "gym" is a total RIP OFF when UFC gym has everything that Storm does at a far better price with far more locations and no I do NOT work for UFC, anyone can honestly say they are a far better value than the scam known as Storm gym.

By far one of the best gyms in OC! I've been coming to Storm for almost 2 years now. There are a ton of classes available each day and a weight area with squat racks and machines that anyone can use. I've never taken a class here that I didn't like, and all of the coaches and staff members that work at the gym are so nice and friendly.I recently started personal training with Peter for kickboxing, and he's the best! He has helped improve my technique so much and makes training really fun. His classes are also 10/10! They can be challenging, but Peter does a great job at teaching the combos and coming around to each person to give corrections. He's also very encouraging and funny, so you'll be entertained while getting a good workout in. I always look forward to coming multiple times a week!Highly recommend giving Storm a try :)

Fantastic facility and staff! I've been to a handful of Boxing/MMA gyms and Storm has them all beat in terms of atmosphere, classes, and cleanliness. I've been training boxing with Peter and he's without a doubt the best coach I've ever had - would absolutely recommend Storm to anyone who is curious to learn more & explore martial arts to seasoned veterans looking for a place to train & spar.

Might/ might not join. Wanted to join this gym for self defense/boxing classes again. They offer a FREE class before you join just to make sure you like the gym and the classes. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Gym is really nice. Everything looks really clean, new, and the layout of the gym makes sense. I did a kickboxing class and hadn't done it in awhile so would have liked a refresher from the teacher as to how to correctly kick, punch, etc. I went with my husband and he hadn't taken a class before. They don't really explain how to accurately throw the combinations. I also put myself in the smelly corner where all the gloves and maybe shoes? Not sure but it was smelly! And as you're out of air that air wasn't very fresh hehe. The price is expected for that style gym. What I'm debating is there aren't many options as far as the same class at different times. There will be one kickboxing class or one boxing class. Would like to see a little more availability. It is cool that they have free weights available at all times at well.

Amazing training gym! Kept very clean. Great classes and great trainers. I’ve had several PTs throughout the years but I’ve never had a trainer care so much about the details and go above and beyond like Aldair. They also clearly care about the community they create. Blessed to have found this place.

not a bad gym in general actually really nice faculty. mainly focused on the workouts. would not recommend here going to becoming a boxer etc. they are focused on the money if u want to become a good fighter go to a gym that is in rags
