Went Christmas Tree shopping today and after shopping around without any success we decided that as a last resort decided to try Home Depot. So happy we did. We found the trees to be much fresher and better looking too. It was so well set up -all separated by tree type and size so you could go straight to what you like without wondering through a jungle of trees that we had no interest in. The main thing we noticed though is that the staff just really impressed us. The outside tree section was staffed by a group of mostly young people and we were more impressed than we have been in a very long time. When going inside to shop we found the same thing there too. This kind of attitude and kindness is something that you very rarely see today and it makes doing business with the store so much more of an enjoyable experience. Koudos to the staff and to whomever is doing the hiring and managing.

This has been my go to location for the last 7 1/2 years. I have never had a bad experience at this location until this summer! We wanted to do a few home improvement projects and decided to work on getting the backsplash installed in our kitchen. This whole story started in San Diego but came to a head in Laguna Niguel. We were down in San Diego and I decided to stop by to get a quote for backsplash installation. Even though we live in Orange County, they were able to set me up with an appointment for an estimate for supplies and installation. Their associate arrived on time and was very professional. I then had to call to get my estimate once the measurements were submitted to the main office. When the estimate came in, I was told to go to my local HD store to purchase the materials and pay for the installation. This started out fine, but fell apart quickly. When I went to pay for my installation, I was greeted by their flooring associate, Pia. She noticed that the San Diego store had charged me a travel fee to have one of their installers come to our home. This didn't make any sense because the Laguna Niguel location is walking distance from where we live. Pia caught the error and said that it wasn't fair for me to have to pay an extensive travel fee when the installers should have been coming from a more local location. She told me to contact her manger, Brennan, in the morning and that he would help me get that order transferred to Laguna Niguel and then they could remove the travel fee. So, I showed up in the morning and asked for the 2 managers that Pia referred me to. Neither one was in yet, but Jimmy who is also a manager proceeded to try to get the order transferred over to this location. Jimmy was awesome as he tried his best. The San Diego store could not release the order and couldn't figure out how to transfer it to this store. That's when Sandra, another associate for the flooring department came over and said that she'd help me.We had to do a new estimate and she wasn't going make me pay for it twice. She made sure that my appointment was made and gave me her business card so that I could come back to see her. Once I got the second estimate, Icame back but Sandra wasn't in. So, since I worked with Pia initially, I decided to speak with her to schedule the installation. This is where it all fell apart. I walked over to Pia and said that she had helped me before and I was very appreciative. She pretty much did a 180 on me and said that this whole mess would have been avoided if I spoke to her manager.I was shocked by her rude behavior toward a paying customer. I told her that I spoke the manager and then she cut me off and said that I didn't because she has an email chain from her manager and I didn't contact him. She wouldn't let me explain that I ended up working with Jimmy instead. She said that she gave me a "specific set of instructions" and that I didn't followthem. She said that she wasn't going to help me and that I was Sandra's customer now! At this point, I was done with her rude behavior and came back the next day work with Sandra. This was a different experience and Sandra was incredibly professional and I felt so at ease with her. She even took $100 off of my installation! She did speak with Pia but she didn't care and Pia said that she didn't care who I talked to. I also found out that I am not the first customer tohave an experience like this with Pia.Since Pia didn't care who I talked to, I proceeded to look for the area manager to contact him. Michael Astorino was the area manager, but he was now assigned to San Diego. They didn't have an area manager at the time and someone named Jimmy C. was fillingin until a new one was found. They are incredibly hard to get ahold of but hey, that's what Yelp is for!I will NEVER do another home improvement project throughHome Depot again! Jimmy and Sandra really helped to save this project! I have been a customer at Home Depot for years. I will only purchase

The service has really declined at Home Depot. I was in the appliance department early evening, and there was nobody in the department that could help. I jumped on their computer to see if I could find what I was looking for which I could. I wanted to exchange a refrigerator that I had purchased a few months back. My remodel is taking much longer than anticipated and I relied on my contractor to make the purchase for me. It ended up being the wrong size refrigerator. When I called Home Depot which I thought returns pretty much everything they told me it was past the return date. I then called Samsung and they told me I only had 30 days. I never unwrapped the refrigerator and had also purchased a dishwasher, range and hood. All I wanted to do was exchange a standard for a counter depth refrigerator. A friend then told me to go to Costco and take a look at what they had. The same refrigerator I had paid $2500 for was $1700 at Costco. I've always been a true blue Home Depot customer. I will no longer step foot in a Home Depot.

This is my local Home Depot for the past 7 years. I don't really have any problems for the few times a year I need to grab something. The kids workshops are fun and seem to have staff that genuinely cares. For the past year or two the water softener salt has been moved from inside the store to outside in the lawn and garden area. That's not a problem, but in the past 9 months or so there has been a growing rat problem in that general area. The last time I went there to get salt, I counted 5 individual rats chasing each other up and down the racks. Yes, I watched them and counted 5. I mentioned it to the staff at the checkout counter and their response was "yeah, we've had a rat problem for a few months now." Mentioned nothing about them getting a service to get rid of them or saying they were working on it, themselves. Today I just went there to get more salt and noticed a ton of rat hair all over the salt bags. I thought this was odd because I occasionally have rats at my house and I never see hair, only feces. So I decided to look above the bags and wouldn't you know, a dead rat was wedged between the wire rack shelf above and the pallet on top. This thing was completely hairless and decayed. It had to have been rotting there for weeks, if not months. That was enough for me. If the staff and management either don't have a clue or simply don't care, I don't want to be a part of it. There's another store about 5-10 minutes away. Not worth getting sick over.

I came here three different times for some rocks for our yard. The first time, I bought 4 bags. There was a bulk discount for 12 bags. I thought I needed 4, and off I went. Got home and realized nope, I actually could have used 12.I went right back, and asked, with my receipt, if I could purchase 8 more bags and get the discount. I explained it about 7 times... Return the 4 from my receipt, charge me for 12, and I will get 8 more. It would have evened out, but they would not allow me to do so.I ended up going back and getting 3 more another day, for another project. There were only bags on the top rack, not the ground.Of the 3 times I was there, not one person offered to help me. They stood and watched me, which was fine, I figured it out, but I had trouble getting the bags from the top and could have used help. The cashiers were neither friendly or rude, just quiet.I will probably go to another HD or Lowes next time.

Most of the staff here is very friendly and helpful unless you need something from the lumber department. I've been coming here over 15 years and always try to avoid the staff at lumber. I won't mention any names but they seems to just not want to help. Especially if you need a saw cut, yikes, don't even think about it. I was even told by another team member that most avoid saw cuts by telling the customer that the saw is not working. This happened to me several times. I honestly blame poor management in this department. Until...I met Troy. He walks around making eye contact (most avoid eye contact in that department) and really wanting to help. He was genuinely interested in what I needed and ran around finding it. He approached me seeing the blank and confused look in my face. He even offer to cut it to make it fit in my car. Troy is a superstar. Every Home Depot needs a Troy to train and inspire the rest of the team to care and value true customer service. Thanks Troy at lumber.

We always have choices when we shop, and this location has disappointed me multiple times. This location is not my choice. In my recent visit I was looking for unique hardware and asked an associate in windows for help finding it. Detected some attitude when he had to get out of a chair (imagine that, he had to stand up and walk in a Home Depot) to show me where it was. Earlier the same week I was shopping for river rocks. Found some in the back of the garden center but unfortunately it was entirely covered with rat feces. I looked around that area and noticed most of the other types of rocks and gravel were covered in rat feces as well. Customers typically pick up these bags by hand, load them in their vehicle , and take them home. No thanks to infecting my hands, vehicle, and home with hantavirus. I noticed 3-4 workers huddled in the back of the garden center just chatting it up among themselves both when I arrived at the store and when I left (about 30 min). Couldn't they have done something about the problem? Another employee mentioned the rats are in the rock area because they like the bird seed stored right next to it. I was surprised no one did anything about it for what appeared to be at least weeks. There's definitely not a good vibe here.

Home Depot Laguna Niguel Hired HD LN to replace my carpet with vinyl flooring. It took 2-3 months for the materials to arrive and during that time, I only got updates when I called them. No one at Home Depot called me to provide an update concerning delivery of the materials and installation. Oh, and I paid 100% upfront for the job. Home Depot only uses Carpet Pros in Orange, CA, for the installation. Eventually the materials arrive and the crew from Carpet Pros arrives to install the floor. They remove most of my carpet and the foreman says they cannot install the vinyl flooring as my floor isn't level. Home Depot tries to refer me to some contractors to check out my floor and level it out if necessary. Can we say upsell!!! Anyway, I met with and hired Tony of Payless Carpet & Flooring in San Juan Capistrano. Tony's master installer, Juan, not only installed the flooring without any problem, but he did an amazing job. Juan has worked in the trade for decades and didnt find a problem with my floor. So, perhaps it was a case of Home Depot upsell or laziness on behalf of the Carpet Pros crew. Thanks to Tony & Juan with Payless Carpet & Flooring, my vinyl flooring looks amazing! DO NOT HIRE HOME DEPOT FOR FLOORING! HIRE PAYLESS CARPET & FLOORING IN SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO!!!!

I love Home Depot, but unfortunately this is the first location where I've experienced/witnessed really bad customer service employees. I don't want to sound like a Karen and I only make Yelp reviews maybe once a year lol, so when there's something really disturbing I just have to leave a review. Anyway, for some reason, the ladies behind the customer service counter did not act like they were on the same team - They lacked communication with each other and each one of them gave me a completely different answer than the one before, and afterwards kept handing me off to the person next to them lol, it kind of felt like speed dating but with people who really didn't want to be there lol Thankfully there is another Home Depot located not too far from me that I can still go to!!! ps: all the other employees are great! It was just the ladies behind customer service.

I was so impressed with Mark who works in plumbing- he went out of his way to help me find things in the store that had nothing to do with plumbing. A man with integrity and great customer service - at first I asked a young man Matthew who also works In Plumbing and of course with an attitude said " i work In Plumbing only" I have been in the service business for 40 years and Matthew needs an attitude adjustment! Kudos to Mark the older but genuine man

Be careful of their appliance extended warranty terms. For my LG refrigerator, I bought a 5 year warranty, and they told me that it starts after the manufacturer warranty ends. The literature prominently says if they can't fix it, they will replace it. But what they don't mention is that the replacement period warranty starts after the 1 year manufacturer warranty ends, but that the service warranty starts on the day of sale. How is that possible? In any case they act like they are the same warranty but they are different and they don't distinguish them during the sale, only in fine print. So they refused warranty service even though the service period was just 3 months out of date. It is grossly misleading both by the salesman and the documents. How can you get something replaced after the five years when they refused warranty service? Planned obsolescence strikes again!

So sad with our recent experience with Home Depot. We ordered new doors in September 2021 and finally got them installed 8+ months later. Two sets of French doors on the 1st floor of our home, both of which were installed with broken locks that do not work. It has been 2 weeks since installation and they have not fixed the problem. It has been challenging to even get someone to respond to an email or phone call asking for help. The doors also have light and air coming through the seam, very energy inefficient. There's a gap at the base of the door that the installer said he would come back to fix after getting some parts from Home Depot and never returned. The doors were installed with the handles on the wrong side. The list of issues goes on. We are extremely shocked and disappointed with the quality, lack of customer service, and security issue we now have to address with our home. We need help and are at a loss. These are Milgard French doors Tuscany series V400. Do not buy these doors and do not buy doors from Home Depot!

I went in today had a quick question about where an item was and this worker in the paint section blew me off and was like no no....??? I wish I could blow people off at my job. so unprofessional. A worker named Angel ended up helping me out and was super friendly and helpful. but that other bald man was so rude I cannot believe it.
