I was referred to Wescom Credit Unions last year by my son who resides in Orange County and is a member. I was looking to open a CD, and was told they have a promotional 10months CD at 4.5% and would give a $100 bonus when open one. I logged in online and transferred 50K from my Ally bank savings account on 3/15/23. A few days after opening my account, I noticed that the the $100 bonus wasn't added, called the Western CU, was told it would take a couple of months to appear and that I have to open a checking account with them as a condition to get it, I promptly transferred additional $100 from my Ally bank savings to qualify. On 12/16/23, I received a notice that My CD would mature on January 14, 2024. I noticed that the bonus wasn't added as promised, called the Credit Union to inquire, was told that they would talk to front office, and someone would get back to me. On Jan 16, I tried to login, wasn't able to, called the Credit Union, after being on hold for more than 30 minutes, had the option to press 2 for someone to call me back, and after about an hour I got the call, when I asked why I couldn't login into my account, I was told they had updated their system and I needed to go online and select different login credentials and password then I would be able to use the app to login again, I did, then I asked why the $100 bonus wasn't there, he apologized and promised to escalate the matter with his supervisor. When I indicated that I need to close the account and transfer the funds back to my Ally back account, was told I had to first close the CD and transfer the funds to the checking account, he did that , then said if I needed to wire the money I have to pay a fee and to come in and sign some paperwork in person! But I could transfer $10,000 a day online without a fee! I transferred $10,000 on the 16th. But on the 17th when I tried to transfer another $10,000, I found out that the first $10,000 was canceled!!! I called and was told that someone canceled the first transaction thinking it wasn't me and suspected a fraud!! Any how, I spoke to the manager, and made an appointment for the following morning at 11:00, went in person, showed two IDs, closed the account and walked out with a check, still didn't get the $100 bonus, noticed on the wall they currently have a $200 bonus if you refer a new customer! BE CAREFUL, I learned my lesson, hope my sharing my experience helps prospective customers !

Westcom is the best credit union I ever had. Great lines of credits to buy cars, and the lowest interest among regular banks if you become a responsible user. Great customer service. I was oversees and my car was denied, I just made a call they check my account and my card was approved for future purchases, in 3 minutes customer service solved my problem. I am very please, I recommend friends and family members to open a bank account with Wescom based on my excellent experience.

I have been with Wescom Credit Union since 2002. Everyone is helpful and friendly, but more importantly, the benefits of being a wescom member supersedes what the larger banks have to offer.

Recently opened an account at this branch a short while ago. Upon entering I was met with a very rude loud speaking Asian woman at the front desk. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" She asks loudly while everyone in the branch glances... I should of walked out then, but after informing her of my intentions of moving my funds from Chase, she insisted loudly "What's wrong with Chase?" "You can't bank there?" I was honestly surprised this woman was an Employee... Very embarrassing individual who cannot keep their composure in a professional setting. I see she is mentioned in other reviews as well. The bank & services I recommend, but as for this branch I would rather save the time & go to Irvine.

$4.00 ATM Fee to withdraw money from NAVY Federal CU?Whoa, what!Petty rare that you see any Credit Union charge fees to other CU members to use their ATM.Moat all Credit Unions are in networks for this sort of thing.Turns our after doing a little research on Wescom even their members are frustrated with their FEES which seem to be numerous. In fact one member said they had worse fees than the big Non-CU bank WF with the Stage Coaches in their commercials.WF has all those horses to from the commercials to feed, not to mention they are a For Profit business so their fees are understandable.Credit Unions are supposed to be member owned Non-profits so where are all these fees going?Brutal thing is, they also are involved in a Class-Action suit for potentially unfair overdraft fees and failure to disclose those fees properly to members.I an sure glad I don't have an account here.I took my card right back out of the ATM when it offered to complete my $100.00 withdraw for a $4 fee.I opted to go a few blocks away to 7=11 to make a withdraw for free.Pretty bad when a member owned credit union is beat out by the place that sells the Big Gulp!Welcome Credit Union is a hard pass for me!I wish I would have know before I went out of the way to find another Credit Union fir an ATM withdraw at 2am.Posting this to make sure other Credit Union members don't run into the same mistake and have it waste their time too.

I love Wescom. Their people are the kindest, most helpful, and intelligent customer reps ever. I have been with them for 15 years and every customer representative I have ever dealt with, either over the phone or in person, has been simply wonderful. Businesses like this remind me of how it used to be everywhere and how it should be everywhere.

Been with this bank for a long time. Over the years the customer service has progressively gotten worse . The ATM never accepts cash, and I mean deposits or withdraws. You might as well not have one. Also, very disappointed you decided to close for "juneteenth." You're a place of business not a place of politics. Keep your political views to yourselves not your establishment. Lastly, shame on the owners for still requiring their employees to wear masks. Do your research, the leading head of all your so called research and knowledge. Stated in Emails with his colleagues, in the middle of the pandemic, or should I say Plandemic! Said the Masks don't work and have little effect. Good luck I'm canceling My accounts here.

I'm so very disappointed! I have had an account with Wescom Credit Union for over 30 years. I've been with Wescom since a young child and my dad worked for GTE, when Wescom was still the Telephone Employees CU. And for the most part, my family has no problem with Wescom. But then again, our banking needs are simply a deposit/security for our savings/etc. But in the rare chances that we have a question, it seems that every time I try contacting Wescom for an immediate, timely question/concern, they are so very hard to reach. I'll go even further. It usually requires numerous attempts from my wife or me to get a response. Mind you these many efforts to contact Wescom include phone calls as well as emails. And the fact that a direct customer service number to agents or to a customer service dept. is not easily available is ridiculous! This pattern of not being responsive or more readily available is most unprofessional. One person who I have tried contacting numerous times is Elizabeth Altamirano. Her email address is:
[email protected]. I emailed her days ago with a question and I have yet to hear back. This is not the first time. Also not the second. So unprofessional! And after the first time, she apologized. But to not sustain improvement is unexcusable. Any feedback to understand why Wescom struggles to make themselves more accessible or available to customers would be welcome. The bottom line: Wescom is great for holding/securing my money. But when I need help to understand my investment options, they seem absent and not actively engaged.

My rating on this credit union is very low just because I just found out that they were charging me $8 monthly and I wasn't using the account but had let my money sit there and I totally forgot about it. I didn't get any notices or letters about charges. I'm going to see them in person and will ask them to waive it. If they refuse to waive the fees then I'll have to close both Savings and Checking accounts. Nuvision Credit Union in Lake Forest are not like this. I'll need to move my funds to them. I'll keep you updated soon! Hopefully the ratings will change, we'll see. *UPDATE: I went to see them in person and waived everything for me. They talked about how to avoid the monthly fees, etc, etc. I'm changing my ratings today. If you have any problems, see them in person. Shirley and Celerina at Laguna Niguel Wescom Credit Union we're wonderful employees. Thank you again Wescom!

Donald Sablatura is a loan officer who has a need for customer service training. I inquired as to the possibility of refinancing my condo. After a delay of several days he indicated that Wescom probably wouldn't approve a loan due to my community. My community is Laguna Woods! Population 17,000. I never heard from him again! I'd had a home loan with Wescom 15 years ago, and they've been my financial institution since 1981! Oh well. There are better banks and CUs.
