Nothing but a inconvenience, if you go at nite as most people do you'll be waiting in line for balls, waiting in line for a bay, hitting balls in the dark and then you'll be home at 10:00 after arriving at 6:00. this place has become a joke. How difficult is it to keep the ball machine full and change a light bulb? This new management placed light bulb around the building but not on the range and chipping area where it's needed. The young kids and wheelchair dude that works there are nice but the most of the older farts can go to hell. Nice going Dave!!! If i may make a suggestion. Get rid of the hotdogs and get some light bulbs.

Review from having ~2+ years of the LF Golf Membership. There aren't many public golf facilities in south OC. You're either going to Rancho San Joaquin or this location. This location has a lot more bays to hit from and parking is better here as well. Just avoid coming here around 6-9pm as that's when it's the busiest. More often than not, the tractor that collects the balls breaks down here and as a result there's a line going all the way back to the parking lot. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes to get your bucket of balls. During the winter months, this place closes for about 2-3 weeks every time it rains for the water to dry up on the muddy driving range. You end up paying for a membership that you can't really utilize for about a few weeks sometimes even a month. That being said there are still some pros about having this LF membership: 1. 9 hole access for $8. You can't beat that. Not the greatest condition, but the greens and bunkers are usually in pretty good condition. When it rains heavily though, you're not able to access holes 6-9 because of the flooding. The tee boxes here are horrendous though. 2. Discounted green fees around OC. This was one of the main reasons I kept the membership. Expect to save around $13-$20~ per round 3. Plenty of practice bays as long as you don't come during peak hours like I mentioned before. 4. Pay $2-3 to practice on grass or chipping. If this location didn't have their tractors break down so frequently and did something about the muddy range condition during the winter months (e.g. install artificial turf in the driving range) I would consider keeping my membership. Compared to Rancho San Joaquin and other ranges, this place opens up about 5 days or a week later than other ranges. I don't really play the 9 hole anymore either, so I'll be cancelling my membership here. I'm thankful for this practice center over the years, but I'll be spending my money elsewhere.

This place can't handle the volume of customers and members they have. Every time I come here they are always out of balls with a mile long line to get some. As a member I expect that I can come to use my free large bucket but lately I haven't been able too because it too busy. I would recommend adding a reservation so that members can get what they pay for. So the staff has been very rude the past times I have come and even told me to go somewhere else.

For the amount of money you can pay to be in their player's club and how busy they are on a daily basis, the fact that A) they don't have an irrigation system of some kind for their range. The slightest rains shuts it down for days and B) their ball collection machine is constantly breaking down , makes me question if the management actually cares to makes this place better or simply make money.

My go to place to improve my game. Only downside is that when it rains, the range will be closed for a couple of days because of drainage issues. Other than that. All is well.

It's a fun course and an easy walk. Watch out for the skunks at night.

They have a new general manager there and the guy has REALLY stepped up! If you call them it gives an option to speak with the GM (Dave) and he actually answers the phone! He is conscience about the course, the people, and the animals. There is now a trained course dog to assist in keeping the population down so they are protected from flying balls. Them getting hit with a golf ball can/has actually killed numerous geese/ducks on courses. What business do you know where a GM actually answers a phone and responds to the needs of animals and patrons? Not many. I'm impressed with this new management as I've lived along the course for a bit over 2 years and it was a mess under the previous GM. NEVER responded to concerns. The ponds are rid of all the algae, the maintenance workers seem more "on it" as far as getting rid of leaves, raking the sand, keeping greens trimmed, etc. As far as the person with the review about kids, it is SO fun watching these little ones on the course. Some are pretty small, and they have little kid tournaments there frequently.

Closes the driving range @ 730pm for no reason on a Thursday night. The management has to improve this. This is the third day they're closed. Get people to pick up the balls if the machine can't keep up. Or get more balls.

Horrible golf course, poorly run, workers tending the course non stop and it’s distracting and loud, employees not kind at the club house, worse experience I’ve had golfing in Orange County.

We booked a foursome but two buddies had to cancel, Lake Forest Golf charged us for the no shows which I understand but then they still had us teed off with two other golfers and it was so busy and backed up we waited for several groups at every hole, at the ninth hole there were 3 groups waiting to tee off in front of us! We will probably give it another shot on a slower day , but not happy about paying the no show fee for that experience.

I previously wrote a negative review due to the fact that I could not bring my child onto this course and was informed by the starter. What I failed to mention was when making this reservation online, the "terms & agreement" had a specific clause on "minors on course", which would've been applicable in my situation. This was on me as I didn't read the T&A...thus, I am TA. Otherwise, wanted to mention again that the course has improved a lot. Front desk at the Proshop & Starters have always been friendly; greens have improved drastically as well, especially on hole 9 where leaves are frequently removed. Can't complain for the price you pay for the membership and green fees.

The center is at the end of cherry and the railroad. Their parking lot is always close to being full. There is no food to purchase, and stay in line if you're planing to go there in the evening.

It’s annoying how you can’t pay for range balls right at the machine. Instead you have to go inside and wait in line with people that are buying other things. The downstairs range area is also not a pleasant place to be

New management is continuing to ruin this quaint little practice facility. After months of intermittently running out of range balls due to them not willing to pay the money to buy a new vehicle or fix their old one, the issue has returned. I invited my friends out to try and teach them how to play, and they refused to sell me a bucket of balls because "we're running out of golf balls and management said not to sell any buckets to people" the employees seemed just as confused as I was with their managements decision due to the continued surplus of balls available. In conclusion new management clearly doesn't know how to run a very simple business and doesn't know how to treat its customers. It's a shame to see this place continuing to get worse the more new management tries to change
