Called and ask if I can use their scale. When I got to the place they were closed and they closed before closing hours. Scumbags

Chapman and team did a great job in shipping my three bedroom condo contents interstate. They were punctual and they move fast pickup and drop-off. Of the 4 quotes I received they had the best pricing with no additional charges. Thing to watch-out for is there maybe slight discrepancy between what the initial surveyor says versus the driver on what can be taken or not. So ask upfront to avoid the confusion. Also ask to have certain areas of the house padded to avoid chipping from the dollie. The driver who picked up the contents is the same person on the delivery side as well. I would certainly use them again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, The crew they hired stole my wifes wedding ring. My wife and I made the move of a lifetime from the City of Orange, in So Cal, to the Nashville TN area. After a thorough review of multiple companies, we chose to use Nelson North American (Van Lines), and felt really good about the choice at the time. Little did we know that the crew that they hired to come pack out belongings were not all honest hardworking people ( most were) but at least one was a thief and this person went through belongings that we told them NOT to pack as we were taking in our own car, and took my wife's wedding ring, which I reported to Nelson the next day (which was the actual pack the truck day.) Nelson's response was, lets wait until you unpack and see if it turns up in something else. I should have known better. I should have turned them all away at that point until the ring was returned, but we trusted them that this is how they handled things.Additionally, Because we needed to sell our home in CA before we could purchase a home in TN, we were faced with having to store our belongings while we got to TN, cleared escrow and were able to move into our new home. The cost to have Nelson pack our house, store it until we got our place in TN was going to be very costly so Gregg Comey said we should just get our own storage in TN, make the move, then we could save some money by paying their storage rates... That made sense, until we finally DID get our stuff delivered to our home 2 months later, and found damage to several items, that Nelson will NOT stand behind because it was not noted on the forms at the time the truck was unpacked into storage. There was a crew of 5 there and me, unloading the truck into 2 20x20 storage units, and there was NO WAY that I could have asked that Driver/crew chief to take time unpack and inspect every item as it came off the truck and then repack it for storage in the Self Store facility. It would have taken 2 days to perform that. Even if we had them move it directly into a home, there is NO WAY you can look at every single item before signing the 18 to 20 pages of "stuff" with cryptic names, which when you do sign, evidently absolves them of any further liability. Mr. Comey knew, that he would be able to stand behind the legal forms and all claims I might make would be denied. We had a beautiful marble top to a china buffet that was NOT crated properly ( crate was to long with minimal cross supports and no way of keeping the item from sliding inside the crate and being unsupported... and now the top is broken all the way across in 2 places. As to the ring... they are trying to say we should have called the Police on the day we discovered it missing and furthermore, claim that because it was not intended to go in the shipment, they have no liability for it. IT WAS THEIR CREW THAT TOOK THE RING. I am so disappointed and frustrated even now, 5 months later. I keep getting emails from Nelson's Claims company saying things like, "regarding the flower pots that you say were left behind, since they were left, we are not responsible for them..." even though I NEVER EVEN BROUGHT UP FLOWER POTS. I left them intentionally. I don't know where this comes from. So Far, Nelson took a great deal of money to perform the move, but have denied every single thing ( and it has not been much ) that we have brought up as damaged property. I'm not sure why I had to purchase insurance for the move if there is NO CHANCE of getting any positive response to a claim. I am Extremely Disappointed as I really wanted to like this company, but sadly, I CANNOT recommend them at all.

The move was great. Very smooth. Movers worked very hard to get the truck loaded. They even were able to unload the same day with a five hour drive. I would definitely recommend this company. I have heard horror stories of movers, but this company is great.

We used Nelson North American for a move from the Bay Area to Southern California, and they were an excellent choice. We had a very difficult transition during the sale of our old house that forced us to delay the move-in date to our new house two times, and Chapman handled it for us with no problems or complaints. Jay and his team were amazing movers who quickly got us loaded and unloaded without damaging or misplacing a single item at either end. They were very customer-focused, and handled everything according to our requests. These guys are super-pros, which is what you want if you are moving delicate or irreplaceable items that need to be properly wrapped and properly placed in a truck. In my experience, it's a skill that not every moving company has, and reinforces the notion that you get what you pay for. I will not hesitate to recommend Nelson to others who need an excellent moving company.

We want to highly praise Jay and Martin and the rest of the two crews used to move us from Orange to the Central Coast. They were incredible. Jay and Martin were clear, organized, fast, careful, and supremely professional. Our most recent move before this was a nightmare, and the movers left a huge jumble of boxes in our garage for us to wade through. Jay and Martin made certain our boxes landed where they were supposed to, and they made certain our furniture was correctly put together and in the right spots. We were really happy with this experience, and we recommend Nelson Moving to anyone need excellent, affordable movers.

First of all, I did this company a favor as they double booked for the day I was supposed to move (which I booked MONTHS in advance) so called me 2 days in advance to ask me to move my date. I said I can't move it back, but they could come a day early, which was the next day, if needed. So the actual movers that showed up to my house were pleasant and did decent work, although they were not told that I lived in a tri level otherwise "we would have planned very differently." They didn't blame me since someone had come and done a walk through of my house to give me a quote so it was their responsibility to relay to the movers that I lived in a trilevel. The issue with this company is the person I spoke to on the phone.I was quoted a certain amount after someone came and did a walk-through of the house. They asked if I would be packing my own stuff, which I said I would be doing. I have done cross country moves before and I have never packed my own TVs. The movers have always packed that for me. When the movers came to my house they said it would be an additional charge for them to pack that because I was supposed to wrap and pack my own TVs. I received a call from Greg who quoted me an additional 300-400 dollars for wrapping the TVs- 2 TVs. I asked why that was an additional charge as I have moved cross country and the movers packed it for me. He said he would have someone else call me. I then received a call from, I believe, Chapman. He was absolutely RUDEST person I have ever spoken to in my life, let alone in a customer service capacity. He basically yelled at me over and over that "no one wants your money, we aren't trying to get a few dollars out of you," and that the movers that moved me before must not have been a "reputable" company. He then yelled that if I didn't pay the extra money, he would just ask the movers the leave and cancel altogether! You mean my cross country move? When the rest of my house is already in boxes? And yes you do want my money because it wasn't "a few dollars" it was hundreds of dollars to be exact. He basically hung up on me and then had Greg call me to charge me the extra money. Then the movers got to my new home in the very last day to f the window- 2 weeks and 2 days after they had picked up my stuff because "the company put an extra stop in my schedule that took me a couple hundred miles out of the way."All in all, I wish I would have paid the extra money for a higher quote to another company, gotten better treatment and piece of mind. Dealing with them was a nightmare ever since I signed the dotted line.

We hired Nelson North American to move us out of Ca on June 8, 2022 and it was a nightmare! We were the third load they picked up and they had half of our belongings in one of their storage units in Ca for almost a month, second delivery was July 2, 2022, before delivering it! We were just disgusted with their performance to say the least! They charged us $18,000 to move 1600 miles. The owner came to our home to give us an estimate 6 months before we were going to move and was there for about an hour giving us an estimate. He was very thorough! Then when his son Chapman came out to give us a new estimate, he was there only for about 20 minutes and left. They told us we packed too much and that's why they couldn't get it all on one truck, trying to put the blame on us. What really happened is they misjudged their other two loads and they were too large, trying to blame the situation on us and make more money by having three loads on the truck! Chapman was very rude to us on the phone when we called about our situation and so was his assistant Ross when we expressed our frustration with our situation. They are the most unprofessional movers we have ever dealt with! They broke two items that totaled about $1000 and said because they didn't pack it, which they did pack one item, even with the insurance we purchased, and our own $500 deductible home insurance, that we wouldn't be paid anything! One of the items, they packed in a moving blanket and bent the metal frame on the bench so much, the handles broke off. They are careless and we saw the driver, when unloading our load, drop someone else's plastic boxes from the load right next to ours and the boxes opened, and the contents went everywhere. We were shocked! Even after repeated requests to let us know when the second shipment was coming, they only let us know 1 day in advance that it was going to be delivered. This is not the company you want to hire to move your precious belongings.............This move was a nightmare for us! And it's their fault! They should be ashamed of themselves. We are in our mid 70's and moving was already difficult, but their treatment of us, made it a stressful and horrible experience! It seems it's all about how much money they can make by over packing the trucks instead of caring about the well-being of your possessions and how they arrive at their destinations! The Robertsons

The team communicated every step of the way and exceeded expectation! My family moved from Southern California to Northern California. They were loaded 2 hours earlier than estimated and delivered next day. Nelson North American was the easiest part of our move!

Moved from Southern CA to Las Vegas area in November of 2021 because of a new job. Gave us an estimate that was fair, and supposedly locked in. After packing up and getting all of our items on their truck, they re tracked the contract and lied by saying that they took more packing material and longer to pack than what they originally thought. However we had a signed contract stating that we wouldn't pay any more. The problem is they were holding our property hostage and blackmailing us but saying if we didn't pay them 1700 dollars more that we wouldn't get our delivery. Last I spoke to some law enforcement friends and justice department folks this is illegal and in this country shouldn't be allowed. Unfortunately we don't follow Sharia law so they can't remove their heads or hands because of what they did. We have tried for the past 8 months trying to get our money back on top of the fact after the 1700 hundred they stole about 5000 dollars worth of appliances and family heirlooms which were probably pawned off at a local pawn shop. Run very fast and far from this company. As you will be very surprised at what they charged and what they steal from you.

Started good. Boss came to the house. Everything arranged. Told me why they are the best and don't go with small local company. Got the quote. Good price. Called to confirm date and details. Manager said let me just go and check everyone is on the same page for move to out storage. Came back and said CANT DO THE JOB. 11 hour pulled the rug. Didn't even off a new date. Just no we work with military and are now busy. I guess they pay more. Be very careful, they say the are the best and give the best service. They didn't with me

Do not use this company for moving if you have anything of value. All they use is a ton of paper to wrap your items up with. The paper took up more space and they charge you by volume. Most boxes had more paper than anything else.We had an antique terracotta horse which they did not package properly that was completely smashed to pieces. We bought this in an antique store in Hong Kong and sells for more than $1800 on the internet. On top of that, they did not deliver our Cuisinart Food Processor, kitchen trolley, broken picture frame, etc, etc. They said they checked their truck after it went back to them and there was nothing.Guess what they reimbursed us for? $100! And they even said that was more than they normally pay out. We paid approximately $12000 for the move from Southern California to the Central Valley.Their administrator was not helpful and the letter that came with the check was curt at best with no detail on what amount was for which item. This was insulting and a slap in the face.STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS THEY PACKAGE POORLY AND BULK EVERYTHING UP THROUGH USE OF LOTS OF PAPER.Even Amazon sends their items in better packaging than these jokers did.

Nelson North American Moving & Storage, based in Lake Forest CA, are just one of the finest movers you want to engage for your local or long distance move. The company has been in business for several decades and many of their employees have been there for many years as well. As we know, a company is only as good as its employees working for them. A can-do attitude and a routine display of expertise and being well prepared on the move-date, seems a daily routine for them. We have used them twice now within a few years and also know other folks which have used NELSON Services, and everybody including us was very happy with their outcome. Right on time, no damages and no unexpected events. They are very professional, incredibly well equipped for any need a customer may have (including an improvised hoist system they came up with to get our couch from the 2nd story via the Patio down to the 1st floor), as well as their dispatch performed magic to make our required move-date happen, despite an incredibly busy schedule for them, during these busy days. They came with all materials needed and just a crew of 3 which performed par excellence during the allotted time. I don't think a team of 5 could have done it better or faster, given the qualifications and seamless process those guys put forward. THANK YOU AGAIN NELSON NORTH AMERICAN MOVING & STORAGE Company. I don't think we would ever choose anybody else. Special Cudos to the team on site: Dennis, Daniel and Louis, as well as to Chapman and Ross. Harry and Carrie

Severely disappointed in the service. First, they take a lot of breaks driving up your total fee because the charge is hourly. It took them 2 days to move us when another moving company did it in half a day and we had the same amount of stuff. They also don't wrap valuables or appliances and are quite reckless with them. When they break, their claims department will not replace them to the full value but rather 60 cents per lbs so for valuables, you are left extremely short of what it costs to replace. Do not use them.

Beware as they charge by the hourly and they take hourly breaks upwards of 15 minutes as a tactic to drive up your total cost. They took 3 times as long as another moving company we had just used 3 months prior and we had the same amount of stuff and were moving the same distance.
