Nestled in the heart of Lake Forest, OC Guns has undergone a remarkable transformation under its new ownership. As an avid gun enthusiast, I have frequented many firearm establishments, but none compare to the welcoming embrace and expertise found within these walls. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm from the staff. The new owners have cultivated a culture of inclusivity and friendliness that is palpable throughout the entire shop. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a novice shooter, everyone is treated with the same level of respect and attentiveness. But it's not just the atmosphere that sets OC Guns apart; it's the unparalleled expertise shared by the owner and staff. The employees here are not just salespeople; they are passionate aficionados who live and breathe firearms. Whether you're seeking advice on the latest models, looking for tips on improving your shooting technique, or simply want to engage in some lively gun-related banter, the staff at OC Guns are always eager to lend their knowledge and expertise. But the standout feature lies in the array of customization services available. OC Guns offers bespoke options, including precision Cerakote finishes and top-of-the-line optics installations. Whether envisioning a sleek, personalized look for your firearm or aiming for unparalleled accuracy with premium optics, OC Guns' customization services elevate your shooting experience to new heights. And let's not forget about the prices. In an industry where markups can sometimes be exorbitant, OC Guns prides itself on offering fair and competitive prices. Whether you're in the market for a top-of-the-line rifle or a budget-friendly handgun, you can trust that you're getting a great deal without sacrificing quality. The new ownership of OC Guns has breathed new life into this beloved establishment. With its friendly culture, stellar expertise, and unbeatable prices, it has become the go-to destination for gun enthusiasts in our community. Whether you're stocking up on ammo, looking to customize your firearm, browsing the latest accessories, or simply looking for a place to share your passion with like-minded individuals, OC Guns has everything you need and more.

Matt was awesome! He made everything about my purchase so seamless. If you want to buy a high end race pistol ask for MATT! Cannot say enough good things about him! The shop was organized and clean as well. They definitely know how to run a great shop!

Not one to post reviews online, but I would be doing a disservice if I did not. This is my go to shop for anything firearm related. The crew is knowledgeable, experienced & very personable. Matt has answered every question I’ve had & has been able to provide everything I have asked for.If you live in Orange County, do yourself a favor and make this your go to shop, you won’t regret it.

First off, IGNORE ALL OF THEIR REVIEWS PRIOR TO JANUARY, 2024, as the business lost their FFL and was sold to an employee (Matt) who is a Brand New FFL. Yelp should rightfully delete those reviews. Second, this former employee/now owner appears to be out of his league. Typical of gun shop employees, Matt is somewhat knowledgeable, but arrogant as hell and does not possess working knowledge of how to deal with people. After inquiring in-person about a rifle the week before, I was told he didn't have time to look it up and to check back the next week for information. I made three phone calls over the next (7) days that were answered by an employee, who after telling the owner my name and why I was calling, came back and said that Matt was "busy" and that I would be called within an hour or so. Crickets. After the third call, I drove in to the shop and was greeted with "I'll get to you in a minute". Standing around for 30 minutes while Matt does paperwork, handles phone calls, takes in a consignment that walked in the door after me, blew off a customer who had some nice guns on consignment and had questions, micromanaged employees and dealt with an ammo customer. The consignment customer got tired of waiting and apologetically said he would come back over the weekend. I am sure he was sweet talked into the consignment and has since regretted it. This, with three employees in the store and no more than the three customers described above. Matt finally came up to me and said that he was "busy" and told me he wouldn't talk to me about the gun until maybe the next week, because he had "Paperwork" to do. In my experience, "Paperwork" is something most other RETAIL business people do after hours, because selling is what they do while the doors are open and customers are present. A friend was with me on my initial visit and was prepared to spend a couple thousand $$ on some used rifles and was told the same thing by Matt; wait to hear from him the next week. Two phone calls with no answer and after seven days he was finished.` Note that the prices are high in this shop, as well. I predict that this egotistical clown will run out of money within a year or two, due to driving customers away daily. Keep an eye on this location, since he will desperately be trying to sub-lease to a massage parlor. To be treated with respect and professionalism, go to the gun shop next door; The Heavy Machine.

Be wary!!! I think there is new ownership here and it is a sad change from how things once were. I recently went to process a DROS and it was a mess. I went in early December, went back in 10 days only to have them tell me they had a mistake with their CA paperwork that they had been dealing with for nearly two weeks. I asked why they didn't call me and no answer. So I submitted the 2nd DROS and went back 10 days later, only to find they "misplaced" or couldn't find my piece. I walked in their storage area in the back and saw my box right away (btw, the back is the most disorganized mess I have ever seen at a gun shop). So now on the 3rd DROS!!! The crazy thing is they didn't even seem to be bothered about how inconvenient this was to me. So no, I do not think I will ever use these guys again.

I sent an item to OC Guns through an FFL dealer in TX and have called them 14 times and spoke to someone 5 times over almost a month.Even though I was told that someone will call me back with an update, I have yet to receive a call back. I have a firearm that they received on Dec 18, 2023 and signed for accirding to Fedex. They won't even acknowledge is there. I'm trying to beprofesional and civil about this but feel I may need to take other measures to get my firearm back and I live in Texas. Just want to share my experience. I'd hate for anyone else to have a similar experience with them. I have expenses, a firearm and a lot of time and aggrevation with this matter. I hope that someone there might read this and hopefully have the decency to do the right thing.Very unhappy customer!

I had a highly disappointing experience at this gun shop. The staff proved to be both unprofessional and rude, struggling to install gunsights without damaging both the firearm and the sights. Despite promises of a week, the task dragged on for nearly a month. I did not rush them, but when I received my slider with the sights I noticed several chips and scratches. The sights ordered came in new but looked like a careless beginner installed the sights from the damages. See pictures below. In addition, to their lack of skills and manners, they are always eating Mcdonalds everytime I visit, and never bothered to wipe the grease off their fingers before handling customer guns. Terrible service and extremely unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.

I've done many deals with OC, they're my go to store and the level of expertise, with customer service is the best in Calif. After 40+ years of being in the gun biz, I know a little about gun stores, don't hesitate to make OC Guns your 1st call.

Cheated me out of $1,250.I knew nothing about guns or the prices of them. They recommended that I buy one for $2,500, claiming that it would never lose value. (Only go up).I bought the gun. A few months goes by, and I see the exact gun online at another store for $1,250. I went in and the new store told me I was robbed.I should have done more research. But this store has horrible business practices and lacks morals.
