We were assigned Sonya back in March and from the beginning it has been a horrible experience. We were called 15 minutes prior to our first meeting to let us know that she would not be able to make it since she had a "family emergency." We had our reservations about continuing to use her but we wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. We were told we could still drop off our documents to the office and Sonya would be able to complete our taxes. She would call us for any information she needed. This was March 18th. We didn't hear from her until she cold called on March 30th...at 8PM! She hadn't started our returns and was calling to ask if my name was in the system. The call took about 10 minutes after she confirmed I had a profile set up. We didn't hear back from her.On April 26th I reached out to her and was told she was not even employed anymore as the tax season had ended. Nothing was completed. Our documents were never even uploaded into their system and we were told they didn't have them in the office either. The manager that let us know has been kind enough to at least be responsive but this has just been a terrible experience. We don't have complicated taxes. The only reason we wanted a professional to do it was because it would be our first year filing for the solar panel credits and we wanted to do it right. I have been using H&R Block for years (filing on our own) and never had a problem.

I don’t do taxes, but my dad does, and I usually go with him, and all I want to say is that Debra Gonzales is literally the best, she is so sweet, she knows what she’s doing, and she even gives out Girl Scout Cookies for birthdays (if they’re in season). If you need a new tax person I definitely recommend her.
