Bought a controller for my son and purchased warranty with it and went to the store to exchange it for a new one and was told store changed their policy and could only get a refurbished one which doesn't make any sense at all. What is the purpose of getting a warranty. We got the refurbished one and got home and the controller is already broken. Going to take it back and get a refund. I was told I could. Hopefully this is true. Should just stick with original policy. This sucks. Going to lose many customers.

I'm just going to be quick about this: today was the day of the Sonic Superstars release. As anyone who knows me, I am a huge fan, already had my pre-order ready, and was ready to pick up my order...until I was told that there would be a Thursday release and nothing else. After calling a few places and talking to what seemed to be a manager who handled the situation smoothly and calmly (with the previous employee trying to cover for himself by quickly stating he was mistaken), I got my game and walked out; however, I feel soured once again with GameStop. I have other locations that I frequent, but I will say that this has put me at odds once again. The only reason I even pre-ordered was because of the acrylic stand bonus, and even then, I didn't get that because of some delay, so I won't hold that over this specific location. While the manager handled the situation, stating they can fix this, it would be even better if they improved upon customer service. When walking in, it was just 4 to 5 employees talking and walking around. This was a bad oversight for them to basically be doing nothing and eerily look and become quiet when someone enters. I was close, very close, to canceling my pre-order and going somewhere else, and the only saving grace was him quickly opening a drawer and grabbing a copy. I left irritated; I know the excuse with everyone is life is stressful and Covid, but I'm not sure if that is a viable excuse. There still is a job that needs to be done, and everyone has some issues going on in their life. If this is too much (judging by my impression, not really), then another profession may need to be looked at. Overall, I'm irritated and not sure what to do. I only keep up with GameStop because of their trade-in system and them being a source to buy games. I'm aware of a few, but they are few and far in-between, and I am not sure how they work when it comes to used games and trade-ins. Honestly, if anyone can tell me where else to buy and sell games, that would be helpful.

Stopped by the nearest Gamestop to where we were running errands, to see if they had a copy of an older PS4 game that I wanted to start playing. It was empty inside, except for one employee so thinking this location isn't so busy during the day. He looked in his computer to find the game. They had the game available, used, for a good price. They automatically applied my loyalty discounts (including monthly $5 off digital coupon)...and we were out of there in minutes. It's worth the little extra effort to buy used games from Gamestop vs buying new directly from Amazon or downloading the digital version from the Playstation store.

Went to GameStop in Lakewood, CA on paramount Blvd. African-American gentleman with dreads stated who was working today, Thursday April 27th 2023 around 1:20pm, stated he cannot accept return or exchanges due to Covid. It was a super Mario hat brand new never worn. Seemed like either he was lazy to do the return or racist about the Covid remark.

I haven't been to a GameStop in years. I was impressed by their inventory and the clerks helpfulness. If you are looking for a game, this GameStop probably has it.

Been Shopping here for 7 years and this location was my go to especially for black Friday. Unfortunately for some time now some of these workers think they can fool and take advantage of people they think know nothing about video games or the hardware they run on. They constantly lie about not being able to price match things one visit then another they price match the website with no problem. Another common issue as of recent is they will lie through their teeth to get you to purchase the warranty on the games. They will claim because " a game has updates " that it will most likely take a dump on you and delete your online data or not let you access certain online modes. They told me that for 2 different NBA 2ks and Elden ring and I've never purchased the insurance nor have I ever had any of the issues they keep trying to sell you this on. Every game in this day and age have updates let alone a majority of them and way more often than not patches and updates FIX ISSUES not break the game the way they claim. Melissa needs an attitude adjustment and customer service skills. Its bad enough she made the lakewoood mall location a drag to go when she worked there but How are you going to work in retail and take your anger out on the customer when you can't force the sale you're trying to make so desperately? Just some advice but no means no child. When you're being persistent with such a terrible attitude you won't go far in achieving your goals or sales. Such a shame but oh well there's like 100 other gamestops near by anyways.

Was sold a defective Xbox Series X. GameStop refuses to refund me because the box was opened, although their policy states that refunds are given to faulty products? Literally the worst place to buy any sort of electronics. Avoid GameStop. Go to Best Buy, Walmart, or Target instead. Way better customer service and return policies there.
