Luna needed a laceration surgery and no Veterinarian in Ridgecrest could see her for weeks. You guys were amazing and fit her in same day! Thank you so much for taking care of my girl!

Had an emergency with my pet passing away. Called them at late hours, and they were very understanding. They accommodated my needs with the utmost professionalism and understanding. My first time seeking their help and I was not disappointed. I am definitely staying with them for my future pet needs.

The care and attention that my fur baby received at AV Vet Center was extraordinary. I felt safe leaving him in their care over night. My baby is now home and rehabilitated. The place is clean and welcoming. I recommend this place 100 %

They give you $10 off when you leave a review. That is how they have such great reviews and so many reviews. This made me choose them. This is dishonest and wrong!!!

Best experience I've had at a Vet. Jenny was very helpful and friendly. Dr. Wright did a fabulous job and they both made us feel like family.

Lost my pup July 5. Went to this clinic on the 4th knowing it was a holiday. Staff was very indifferent and I was made to feel they were trying to get rid of me. Told to come back in three hours and to call first. I asked if i just stayed they would be able to see me eventually, right? Very evasive and no concern. The only reason I was there was dire concern for my dog as I had no idea what was wrong with her. So I called at the directed time and they told me to come in. When i got there I was told the doctor decided not to take any more patients! I asked if they were kidding? No concern at all that I had wasted this time all the while my pup was going downhill as i am dragging her in and out of the car. Lost my baby the following day and Dr. Biggerstaff's(who was recently killed around this time in a horrible accident) compassionate staff took us immediately but it was too late. In hindsight i should have asked to speak to the doctor directly. But i was shocked and had to find a way to help my pup. Had to do something as this has been eating me up and I hope this may alert others to the possibility of attempting to procure medical assistance and being met with disdain.

I'm a senior citizen living on a fixed Social Security income. Brought my 14 mo. old dog in with a injury to front paw.
Basically they didn't do their job right the first time! I can't afford to have my dog treated properly now! Very upset...
They check it out and removed some foxtails. The dog was given an long lasting antibiotic shot and they bandaged up the paw. Told me to return about a week later to see how it was healing and to change the dressing. I returned with a appointment to change the dressing and return home. BUT the vet said they needed to sedate him and remove another fox tail they missed. Problem is they should have done this the first time which cost almost $375. Now they want to do it again under sedation (over $400 more). When I asked why the didn't sedate him the first time the reply was "it was a different vet". Personally this should not matter it's the same Clinic! The first vet should have sedated my dog when he tried to tend to him. That's why he did a bad job removing the foxtails. The dog will not let anyone touch his paw, he should have been sedated and all the foxtails removed on the first visit, that's why I went to a vet!!! ?

The largest vet clinic I have ever visited. It is my first time in an animal hospital that is open Monday through Sunday. They took care of my senior dog and I was able to schedule an appointment immediately. Their prices are higher, so make sure you come prepared. They gave you an estimate before they do anything. The staff were very helpful.

My dog could not put any weight on his back foot... was uncertain of the cause, so off to AV Vet Center who treated him with kindness and care. With the correct medication, he was back chasing his ball the next day!

I have been to this vet a few times in the past for the care of my cats, Gato and Thanos, and my 1 y/o husky, Lady. My husband and I have also attempted to bring my other cat, Luna, who was in respiratory distress, and she was turned away because they “are not an emergency facility, and there is no veterinarian on site after hours”; yet on Yelp and their website page, they claim to provide trauma and emergency services. Luna passed away.
Last Monday 6/3, we took my beloved baby girl, Lady, to this vet for vomiting x1day. They did bloodwork and X-rays which showed that she swallowed a nail. Dr. Wright recommended an enterectomy/exploratory surgery to remove said nail and suggested a spay since Lady was already under anesthesia. According to them, the surgery went well and she was doing well up until the next morning, Lady started vomiting dark blood, labored breathing, and fever.
By this time, Dr. Harris told us they would keep her for observation and give her supplemental oxygen in an enclosed area. The following days, they continued antibiotics, pain medication, anti nausea medications, IV fluids, and supplemental oxygen. On 6/6, they gave her anti inflammatory and antihistamine medications for her neck swelling, and supplemental oxygen since she was still having labored breathing. She stayed at their facility until 6/7 Friday when they repeated X-rays and found fluid lining her lungs. They recommended fluid removal (thoracentesis) so they removed 500ml, she still had labored breathing throughout the day and was still dependent on supplemental oxygen. They did a second thoracentesis, removing 150 later that day. They said she was breathing better and was weaned off oxygen, they said she’s okay to discharge and go home. At approx 10pm we brought Lady home, about 20 min later, I noticed her tongue was blue, along with labored breathing. We immediately got in the car to go back to the vet, but our Lady died in our Subaru’s trunk, alone, scared, and in severe respiratory distress.
I don’t know why they would discharge my dog if, clearly, she was not stable to go home since she died 40 min after discharge. I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t keep her one extra night to observe her, especially after two procedures where airway and breathing are affected. Even more so because we expressed that her safety and wellbeing are our priority, not the cost - what’s ANOTHER night at this point? I can’t help but feel that they were negligent and irresponsible for discharging her unsafely. Maybe they purposely discharged her so she would die out of their care/facility. I would’ve made her comfortable at home and held her until her last moment if I knew that was their plan. Losing Lady that night was, without a doubt, the greatest pain of my life and I miss her every minute of each day.
Another pet parent in the lobby told us that we could talk to the staff about a cash price; he mentioned that he was able to get almost half off of his bill. A week later, after various requests to speak with Robert or Lilian about the bill, Robert gave us a hilarious 5% discount. They literally don’t care about you or your pet.

This place saved my our dog Petrie! Our little 9 lb was attacked by another dog. There was no place open up here at the time so we rushed to Pasadena to the closest 24hr emergency vet center. They charged us $1400 to tell us that she should be put down. They said surgery would start out at $20,000 and she still probably won't make it. We decided to bring her home but requested pain meds to help her be more comfortable. They said since she was leaving against medical advice that they could not do that. She was still with us the next morning so we took her to this wonderful place. They started surgery. She had a kidney, part of her spleen and some of her cartilage ribs removed. She also had to have a blood transfusion. She is now doing great! And it was no where near the price we were quoted in pasada This was almost a year ago and I still think about how awesome this place is. Thank you to the staff at AV Veterinary Animal Center! God bless you!!
