I recently switched veterinary offices as my current vet was unable to assist me with the necessary travel testing needed to take my dogs to Hawaii. I contacted many offices in the AV and finally found Smith Veterinary. My initial contact was with Eric, who is a saint in my opinion! He researched, priced out and scheduled my pups for their FAVN antibody testing. This isn’t just any testing it’s very particular and has quite a few steps & requirements. To top this off I don’t have just one but four dogs! This in itself was quite an undertaking. Upon my appointment arrival I was greeted by Eric and the other front staff who were all pleasant and helpful. My pups then each had their exams with the doctor to ensure they were good for travel and testing. His personal demeanor was so pleasant, friendly and reassuring that this process was indeed something their office is efficient in doing. I can rest easy knowing their travel certificates will go just as smoothly. My only regret is not finding them sooner than I did. I’m truly so thankful to have found this office!

First of all, I would like to say that the front office staff was very patient and pleasant during the initial intake over the phone while I was in the car waiting to go in for my appointment.. Also, the vet tech, a young woman, was incredibly sweet, and it was obvious that she genuinely cared for my cat as she was weighing him and taking his temperature.I was very taken aback, however, when Dr. Garha informed me that diabetic cats are better off with a low protein diet. I found that very strange, since every website I researched – and I researched many - emphatically stated that a high protein diet is crucial for maintaining healthy blood sugar levels for diabetic cats. The reason being, is that it can help stabilize glucose levels, maximize metabolic rate, prevent muscle mass loss, and improve satiety, meaning that they won’t have to eat as much, thus maintaining a healthier weight.Apparently, It’s easier - and more lucrative - to put them on medications, some of which have very negative and harmful side effects. Dr. Garha doesn’t seem to have the best interest of the pets - or their owners - in mind, which is very sad. Definitely won’t be going back.

North valley veterinary clinic is where you want to take you pet if your wanting a caring vet and not a money hungry vet. My dog is 15 years old suffering because I can't get her meds refilled until I bring her in to get labs. I told them I can bring her Friday could they please refill her meds so she can breath. They said unfortunately no. What kind of human will let a dog suffer like this? Refill her meds like you have always done and I can get you $400 for lab work Friday. My dog is old and they want to see if her liver is bad. Please this is so wrong

0 stars. I wasn't going to write a review after our first dog passed away after a visits to Smiths veterinary but after the second one did, I'm definitely writing one. The first one was a pit we paid $700 for her lumps on her ribs to be tested (not even removed or anything) they said they weren't cancerous or dangerous and she was healthy. Not even a month later she passed away in her sleep. Not only that but the receptionist lady took my moms card from the front desk and after this transaction she had two more unknown transactions. Second dog mini schnauzer we took him in for a check up and shots in August said everything was good. Took him to emergency vet a few days ago he had to be put down due to failing kidneys and possible cancer in his lungs. This could have been caught sooner. My question is what they heck are they doing here if they aren't helping or at-least properly diagnosing. I'm not saying save our dogs from dying but DO YOUR JOB AND DIAGNOSE-PROPERLY!!! Especially after paying so much $$$ RIDICULOUS. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with a fur babyRIP to our babies Dolly and Jack (Jack was only 5 yrs old)

11/3 (a Friday) I needed to put down my 14 year old husky. I called my regular vet and they said they wouldn’t be able to get me in until Tuesday (4 days later). I found smith vet through google, called right when they opened and the man who answered the phone was very nice and helpful and was able to get me in right away for a quality of life exam. He told me to call when I got to the parking lot so they could get me checked in. When I called I got a different receptionist, a woman, and she seemed like she didn’t know about my situation so I said “I was told to call when I got here” to which she replied a bit rudely “okay, well I still have to check you in”. I didn’t catch the name of my doctor or the technician but they were both very sweet and helpful to my situation. My pets ashes were ready for pick up 11/14 and I picked them up today 11/16. When I walked in the door I wasn’t greeted whatsoever by any of the 3 receptionists sitting there. No smile, no greeting, no anything. There wasn’t any other clients in the lobby or anyone on the phone. I didn’t want to deduct a star because I had a good experience otherwise but this was very frustrating especially as someone who has worked as a receptionist at a vet hospital before and as someone who just lost a fur baby.

Thank you for helping my cats upper respiratory infection. It's been 2 days since her antibiotic and steroid shot and she's running around like a kitten! I haven't heard one cough or any congestion today! You guys are all amazing, thank you again.

Fast, friendly, and affordable service. The staff was great with my kitten Clover, and the doctor was thorough and gave my fur baby the help he needed.

I felt I was being gouged ! Wanted to take a slew of tests - $300.00 worth ! Mind you this was for a 5wk kitten that most likely had ringworm. Refused to give me any antifungal cream if I did not agree to these panel of tests. Never again - I will not recommend this facility. ?

I called today to try to get my dog in. When I explained that her gait was off and I wasn't sure if it were neurological or... The receptionist sarcastically asked me, "her what? I said, "her gait". Her sarcastic response again, "I'm sorry, I don't know what that is". Well that just left me with 0 confidence to take my dog here. So I said, "nevermind I will find a different vet." She hung up.I called back and asked for a manager. When I explained she says, "well most people wouldn't use that word gait." When I asked if she knew what gait ment she said, "no and it's not a word that people use and maybe you should find another vet to see your pet." I told her, "maybe you should ask her vet tech what it means and I'm sure they will be happy to know that you lost yet another customer."Irritated, I came here and left a review. To my dismay, I came back to look in the evening and it was removed. Plenty of reviews about the managers poor people skills (surprise).Google, if we're supposed to give reviews, how is it that business is allowed to get them taken down?DEFINITION FOR GAIT: a person's manner of walking. the paces of an animal, especially a horse or dog."the easy gait of an athlete"Similar:walkstepstridepacetreadmanner of walkingway of walkingbearingcarriagecomportmentway of holding oneselfway of carrying oneselfdeportment
