Friendly and helpful is important to me and this Larkspur branch is both. They have successfully transitioned into a parent bank BMO " B mo"

Always good experience here compared to the other big banks. No line waiting. Very good customer service.

We needed to cash a cashier's check drawn on another branch of Bank of the West and Stan and Ly were so helpful and gracious. My husband went inside to cash the check while I walked our rescue Husky. She is a vocal girl. Immediately, Ly was out with treats and invited us inside. I was amazed. Stan took care of cashing the check and was so personable and professional. He and our son went to high school together. It was like a mini-reunion. Another woman came in and I offered to take my dog outside, but Ly made the woman very comfortable in a cubicle away from us. I spent my entire career in banking and never witnessed such genuine care for people by branch personnel. They are fantastic.

I've been coming here for several years. Stan is the best. Helpful, courteous and super efficient.

Unbelievable bad experience. Their website is down too often. The canned answer to online queries: "above average numbers of calls, blabla. So an answer online takes 1-2 weeks, if you get one." Six months later I am still waiting for a debit card. The last one has a spelling error on my name and when you renew the data entry is done MANUALLY. Really? In 2022? The customer service rep on the phone does not have any answers and wants to send me to the branch. Who has time for that?

The manager of the bank Cristino Rivera threw change at me as I walked out after closing my account. I have contacted the police.

This isn't so much for the Larkspur branch as it is for BofW in general. Do yourself a favor and go to literally any other banking institution. The customer service is horrendous, and they do not care about you as a consumer. At least the other banks fake caring - BofW doesn't even do that.

You will either love or hate this bank. It's saying something that some people actually fall into the former category because today banks are just massive money manipulators. Some people blame all the troubles of the world on the central banks and their biggest distributors. Lesser lights in the sky like Bank of America just make the game local, bringing corporate finance and government fiat to a shopping center near you, disguised of course as the big friendly bank for everybody. Then there's Wells which may help you by creating new accounts for you, no need to sign or know anything. And their people always seem to leave within a month or so, who were they? where did they go? When you look at this Bank of the West branch on Magnolia you know this is from another and slower age, like George Bailey's bank in Wonderful Life. You almost wonder if they keep all the records here on a napkin in the back. I especially admire their safe deposit box door, which nobody can crack after hours, or so it seems anyway. The bank has been itself owned by the 7th largest bank in the world based in Paris, but was just sold to the Bank of Montreal (BMO Group) so there may be changes in the near future. Hope not because I've been doing a certain kind of limited banking business here for maybe 8 years. I doubt I'd do all of it here, but it is heartening that the people here are the same people I met when I first came in the door. Stan is a favorite, very interesting guy from Siberia I believe. He's thorough, gets business done quickly, and will always take a few moments to have a little personal conversation unless the place is very busy. Now there are always downsides to any anachronism, and overall the good and bad here is the pace of things. You might be in line a few minutes longer than you want, and then again maybe not. The bank is small and customers aren't so many so there is never a line out to the massive front door. Also no phony greeter at the door asking how s/he can be of assistance. Once it's your turn mostly things go well here. We'll see if the iCanadians run things differently. But we have plenty of other banks around already with people inside who only know you by your account number, if that speaks to you.

I've been banking here since 1987. The employees and managers have been friendly, kind, and have gone out of their way to treat me in a respectable, timely manner. Emiiy, Stan, Cristina...just to name a few over the years. They have gone over and above to help me and my sons in banking matters and sound advice. They have always greeted us by name when we enter the building and have followed up many times with phone calls. I recommend this bank to everyone!!

Wasn't greeted or even acknowledged. Another customer came in after me that the man sitting behind the desk perked up to and greeted; he looked straight at me afterward and said nothing. And I had been waiting next in line for about 10 minutes.

I went into the branch to do an international wire transfer. I provided the same information I had to the BotW branch in SF to do my previous, but this time, they didn't seem to understand what to do and didn't bother calling the branch where I did the first transfer. The manager, who had been standing close by hearing everything finally said they'd do it but wouldn't be held liable if the money didn't get there. I walked out. As I said at the time, I'm not the bank. Your bank did this already for me, so you should be able to tell me what I fo you need to do a transfer. Zero confirm the employees of this branch to get it right.

If I could give this bank a zero, that would be my first choice. The mortgage process, branch assistance, account services, and the telephone support system are all horrific. STAY AWAY! We will be working on moving our accounts as soon as possible.

I'm quite perturbed. BoW used to be open on Saturdays. On March 13, there's a sign on the door that says closed on Saturday starting March 20.

Horrible. My customer experience with Bank of the West has been truly horrible. I will be changing to Redwood Credit Union at the end of the month. Customer service has long hold times due to "unexpected call volume" each of the 3 times I called on Sat, Sun and Tuesday. Oddly each time it was almost exactly a 20 minute wait. Hmmmm. Sounds like a cost optimization algorithm that doesn't value my time. Due to a confusing user interface on the online banking application, I transferred too much money to my credit card. The money instantaneously disappeared from my checking account. After being transferred to 4 different people and over an hour of hold time, I was told that my transfer could not be reversed until it posted to my credit card on Tuesday. On Tuesday, after being on hold for another 20 minutes and speaking to 3 more people, I am told that the transfer can be reversed but that it will take 7-10 days to appear back in my checking account. This is bullsh*t. This is a great example of a big corporation not caring about its customers and hoping that it is too much trouble to switch banks. Well, after 6 years as a customer, I am done.Banks continue to ruin this country. Continue to be customer hostile. How is this business model allowed to exist? From Wells Fargo defrauding customers to the 2008 financial crisis to simple things like not being able to move money from account A to account B in a timely fashion while they continue to profit from the use of my funds. I am done done done. I will close and transfer my account. I will speak ill of BOW every chance I get.
