I don't get it. I had been going to the CC for 20 years or so. They have always done a job on my computers. I had one laptop custom-made. Now, I have temporarily moved out of the area to the mid-west. I had a disk crash and sent it back to the CC since they were the ones I trusted. When I got back the computer, a minor thing, but the DVD drive wasn't hooked up. However, I recently found out that the drive does not work at all. (Yes, I did have a new DVD drive installed.)There have been problems with Outlook. IE. not saving the folder order on the sidebar. Not saving the spam folder settings - so I keep getting spam in the inbox and non-spam in the Junk folders. Maybe more later.

I've now gone to Computer Connection twice, once for a laptop and once for my desktop. I had to go back because Morgan was incredibly helpful, transparent about the whole process, and went above and beyond for me. He was wonderful.

I came through with an issue with my gaming monitor. Unfortunately, the repair would cost as much as the replacement. Morgan was super helpful in diagnosing, walked me through the problem, and drafted a repair order so I could file a warranty claim. Appreciate the awesome customer service and thank you for your help!

The team at Computer Connection helped me out, with quick turn around, when my 2012 MacBook finally gave up the ghost. I had 2 incidents of the dreaded black screen, but no full back-up. I purchased a new MacBook at an Apple Store & was told that they wouldn't work to transfer data from my old to new Mac, as my old Mac was more than 5 years old. Additionally, they no longer sold the external drive, for the old Mac, that I'd need to do a TimeMachine full back-up. I understood, but had no way to ensure the data transfer that I needed. I called Computer Connection; they said they'd take a look. In less than 24 hours, they had successfully transferred everything to my new Mac, resulting in virtually no downtime, given that my old MacBook had died the prior morning. They made my day & turned around what started as a VERY stressful Monday. Highly recommended.

I was about ready to throw my Dell laptop at the wall. Thankfully, I was able to take a deep breath, and take my computer to Computer Connection. They fixed my baby no problem! To start from the beginning, my laptop's spacebar wasn't working reliably. I opened the laptop and lo and behold, it wasn't the spacebar's fault - it was the battery, expanding like it was gonna explode! Nothing like a ballooning lithium ion battery to brighten my day, right? So I set about trying to remove the battery. I have a laptop screw bit kit, thus I had the correct bits to attack each screw. Nevertheless, one of the screws securing the battery stripped. I tried to drill it out with my jeweler's flex shaft, to no avail. I was able to slide the battery out, but I was worried about installing a new one with that screw. It was at this point that I wanted to hurl my computer. The screw wouldn't budge, the battery was threatening meltdown, and the interior of my laptop's body was polluted with dust. I calmed down and took my laptop to Computer Connection. Within a couple of days, they were able to remove the errant screw, order and install a new battery, and clean my computer's guts. One year later, my laptop still runs great! Thanks Computer Connection!

Brought in a two year old Lenovo laptop that was lightly used but out of warranty with a squeaky case and wrist rest that was making annoying noises on a constant basis... while warning me upfront that they couldn't correct design and build issues, they worked on my machine for a week and got it done... no more squeaks and rattles! Outstanding attention to detail and if I ever have a software related issue I won't hesitate to go back...

Got a few tweaks (new cooling fan and keyboard) taken care at the Computer Connection. The cost was reasonable and it restored my laptop to the dependable tool that I have relied upon for so long. Try it, you'll like it!

I bought a $999 2020 Mac mini last month and decided to stick with the standard upgrade model, configured as is. It came with 8 MB RAM. I am using this solely for Zoom, with a 32" monitor and if necessary, (a 75" Sony TV) to teach 3 hours a week for UC Berkeley. At the time of purchase, I did not want to pay $1,000 to add 56 MB of RAM to max out the memory. Simply swapping out the 2 x 4Mb chips with 2 x 32 Mb chips seemed awfully expensive. I went online and found the appropriate RAM through iFixit and got 2 x 32 MB of 2666 Mhz RAM that was entirely compatible with this machine. Total price for the 64 MB was $275. I couldn't go to the APPLE store in Corte Madera since they would not install my RAM, I did NOT want go to Best Buy & the Geek Squad, so I went with Computer Connection which has been in Business for 24 years and is local. There are not a LOT of local options for Apple Authorized Service / Repair.I was told on the phone that they could swap the RAM out in 24 hours for a price from $50 - $129. I had watched the YouTube videos & decided that to do this myself would require purchasing $49 worth of tools, etc. I decided to put that money toward a professional doing the installation. I am awfully handy, but didn't want to do this myself, as I would be dealing with tiny screws, & a few VERY small cables requiring disconnection. Hence I decided to to to CC; after returning the $49 in tools I wasn't going to use, I would end up paying $1 to $80 out of pocket. Not bad.Well, I left it off at 11 am on Monday and went back Tuesday to pick it up, after not getting any calls back, nor getting Morgan to answer the phone. When I got there, it was not ready, as they needed a T4 Torque screwdriver (which I HAD bought, but had sent back already to get my refund.) It took them 4 days to get the part & I could not get the Mac mini back until the following Tuesday! MORE than a week later. I understand difficulties arise in the days of COVID 19, but it doesn't affect appropriate communication during an upgrade process, nor prevent one from returning 3 messages left on their phone when they were too busy to answer.I finally was able to pick it up 8 days later - on Tuesday, but had to call to even find if it was ready. When I got there, Morgan told me he could not replace the small metallic cage that protects the RAM once installed, as the Crucial brand RAM which I bought after talking to my IT tech at work and via every website possible. Morgan said The Crucial RAM was about a millimeter taller than the Apple installed 4 MB chips, and therefore he put it back together without the tiny metal cover, saying that it would have no effect on performance, etc. I DO know that I violated the warranty on the machine, but this was not a huge purchase, I NEVER buy the extended warranties, and if it broke tomorrow I'd just buy a replacement. But I WOULD NOT take it back to Computer Connection. First off, Morgan has NO ability to communicate with a customer. During two calls when I asked a question, one rhetorical, there was simply silence from him on the phone. I was mildly upset with his & his colleagues' lack of ability to communicate with me, & they definitely mislead me from the moment I dropped it off & was told it would be ready the next day. They are not apparently overwhelmed with business, as I saw NO ONE in the store during the 4 stops I made to drop off, check on the status due to the lack of communication, and finally picking it up. They also charged me $125, $4 less than the quote. Given the inconvenience & misleading communication, the repeated numerous of visits I made because they don't answer or return call, & not having the use of this for 8 DAYS, I would have expected a better final price. I was also NEVER told of the issue re: the replacement of the metal cover which screws in over the RAM. And why they did NOT have a common tool to disassemble the machine is beyond me. All in all, a terrible customer service AND technic
