This Save Mart is the closest grocery store to my house, but honestly, it’s not my first choice. Their prices aren’t very competitive but they can be if you know how to shop, use their app, and take advantage of the weekly deals. Most of the employees I’ve encountered seem unionized, they talk to customers like they’re not worried about losing their jobs, so I doubt that any amount of bad customer service reviews will change anything.
That said, I do want to highlight the sushi counter. I love sushi, high-end sushi, grocery store sushi, food truck sushi… but I do appreciate good grocery store sushi. I will never say grocery store sushi is the best because, no, that will never be true but I like it on days I don’t want to spend too much on sushi but crave it.
The sushi here used to be stingy in portion and variety, especially with their poke bowls, but recently I noticed a change. The nigiri was huge, practically touching the lid, and the tiger roll I tried was generous and flavorful. The rice wasn’t dry and the fillings were well-balanced, not just stuffed with rice. I thought maybe it was a fluke, but on my second visit a few weeks later, I had the same experience with a different chef. So maybe this is the new normal and I hope it is! The poke bowls still look small and I would buy them if they didn’t look half empty.
Also, the sushi chefs at all of the Save Marts I’ve been to are consistently kind and greet me every time I walk up to the counter. It’s too bad the rest of the store doesn’t follow their example.

Been coming here for years never once had this issue. Tried to purchase some beer and the cashier said now they are enforcing everyone to show ID even my wife who wasn’t even in line for anything who has been present with me purchasing alcohol before and there was never an issue . I asked her if it was new and she said no they are just now enforcing it with major attitude I might add. Very unprofessional.

Spendmore Mart the place where every price is conveniently doubled. Whatever price you would expect at a similar store? Double it and you will be spot on the moment you walk in. Stay away unless you love high as can be prices for low quality products and meat.
Inflation? Shrinkflation? Doubleflation.

If you want to actually save, go to Winco. Can of soup at savemart? 4.99. Lots of greedy inflation with no actual economic justification. A shame.

I've been shopping at this store a few times a week since they opened the doors. In the past few years my shopping experience there has become dreadful whoever is running the store should be fired immediately. Never more than one register open. Expect to wait in line 15-20 minutes every time you go here. Leave with your ice cream melted and your milk warm because of the incompetence of the store managers....

Don’t shop at this place they pick and choose who they want to card for ID if you walk in and you look a certain way they ask for ID for everyone that’s in your group mind you even though they are not purchasing any alcohol. The manager there is rude as hell Rude the rudest!! I wouldn’t give it any stars, but I have to so my review could get posted

Never had a problem getting cash back before, now they claim they can't do it and will go so far as to intentionally freeze their POS machine in order to deny cash back only transactions.

This store is so understaffed. A trip to get one item could take up to 45 min due to the long check out line. I have never ever seen more than one register open at a given time. They need to add more cashiers. You’ll see one poor cashier jumping between the register and the terrible self checkout system that glitches and calls for staff members at all times.

Rude employees and way more rude manager.
Specially the Bakery department, no one there to listen to customers.
I am sure that this store is going to close soon just because of worst managers they have.

Worst place to shop or order any thing.
Their staff either are not trained on how to talk to customers or handle orders or how to own mistakes and help fix or they are trained to not care about mess ups. Specially bakery staff, they messed up our order so bad and didn’t even care about helping getting it fixed. They didn’t even own the mistake, just said I don’t make the cakes.
My kids 1st birthday cake, we ordered with them - we spend time to select a cake design, fillings and everything. I mentioned to staff it is my kids first birthday and want the best one for him. They were happy to take order and I paid in advance the full amount because I thought this will help me get the best service possible.
However it turned out to be my worst experience when I went to pick few hours before party. Everything was wrong with the cake, type of cake, design, fillings, color everything was wrong. The staff first said they did the mistake but then they said we did not make the cakes. I asked for manager that’s where the things just turned to worst manager was like take it or leave it. She was asking me how do I know fillings are wrong, I informed your staff only told me that fillings are also wrong then she turned to staff and said something. I asked for store manager, then another lady came and said the same thing take or leave it. Manager was so rude instead of owning the mistake, she was trying to proof that I am just making the fuss how do I know what the fillings are. They were treating like customer who order is a fool.
I am sure I will never order or shop at save mart in my life and make sure to convey the same message to my friends and family.
