This is the best place in town for beer, snacks and items generally missed when shopping major markets. Father and son owners are very nice.

I was driving down Hawthorne Blvd when out of the corner what did I see but a Lottery sign, just for me=) I stopped and of course had to play. The inner numbers beast that lives inside of me, add license plate numbers and every other number I see on the street. I have always loved math and loved figuring out combinations of numbers so of course I am always on the lookout for places to play my numbers. This day just happened to be S.K. Liquors where I ended up. I stopped walked inside and was pleasantly surprised to see the number of winning lottery tickets decorating the walls. I asked the cashier when the last 'BIG' winner was and he showed me a photocopy of a $50,000 scratcher that someone scratched off and won several weeks ago. From the looks of the inside of this place, S.K. is giving Bluebird a run for their money on the Lottery winning Dept. As for the store itself, it is located on the corner of 169th Street & Hawthorne Blvd. The store offers its own parking lot which leads you out onto 169th or Hawthorne Blvd. In the parking lot there are signs that indicate to loitering & no panhandling and to this stores credit for the area in which it is located in there was not anyone in the parking lot begging for money which is always nice. Inside of the store, S.K. offered everything you might find at your local 7/11 from Ice Cream, to cold drinks, to alcohol, to baby formula to low end type of person 'wants' like the cigar with the white plastic mouthpiece and everything that goes with that type of cliental. I travel past this spot from time to time and if the parking lot was open I might stop. If it was packed and parking was an issue I would never even when it was light out park my car on the surrounding side streets near this business. With that being said chances are I will come back here.

The ownership has changed and the man is very rude and mean. No customer service skills, says "no" to anything he doesn't understand or wants to answer. Just a mean person, very sad!!!!
