Rest Area was totally Closed Off by CalTrans or whoever during the last wknd in Sept in the Evening. NO Warning, just Blocked by Cones and Couldn’t even Exit off. I assume like many others Traveling, we needed this Spot to use for Resting and bathroom seeing this is the only Public Rest Area on the Grapevine — in a super busy area. Disappointed. I personally think given how much Californians pay for Taxes (I used to be one), CalTrans is WAY Too Overhyped (like the Crooked NHS in England) for THIS Rest Area to be CLOSED on a Weekend — for Tourists and Commuters alike.

Great place to stop and rest! My 2 dogs were able to walk around, and there is water available for them to drink from! The vending machines r always fully stocked... a bit pricey, but if it is an emergency, it is well worth the price. The hot chocolate/coffee machine should be fixed, tho! It needed cups when I wanted to buy something from there. Other than that everything was great and well kept.

Excellent place to rest, sleep and even cook. Clean bathrooms with enough water, paper, etc. enough spaces for cars and trailers
