Naval Air Station Lemoore is a well-located military base just west of Lemoore, California, easily accessible from highway 198 and east of the I-5 interstate. It serves as an active United States Navy base that requires a military identification card for entry. The base offers a variety of facilities and amenities for military retirees, active duty members, National Guard, reserve members, and military families. Visitors often enjoy watching the planes train at the other gate entrance, which features a nice seating area and parking, providing a cool and interesting experience. The base has modern housing that appears new, and it features a very good gym, praised as one of the best seen in 20 years of active duty. However, getting on base can be challenging during busy mornings, especially before recent gate upgrades, which previously involved longer drives through multiple gates with ID checks. Private transportation is highly recommended for getting around the area, as public options are limited. There are plenty of activities nearby, such as surfing at the new surf park up the road, which is featured in the World Surf Tour. Some logistical issues have been noted, such as the need to bring a J1772 to Tesla adapter for charging electric vehicles, as the nearest supercharger station is 30 miles away, and Amazon deliveries can take 5-8 days. Additionally, there are concerns about certain operational procedures, like the load receiving process at Building 140, which some find inconvenient, especially after long travel hours. Despite these minor issues, NAS Lemoore remains a convenient and interesting base, especially for those interested in aircraft and military facilities, and visitors are likely to return to explore more of what the base and surrounding area have to offer.

Our home in base housing needed some repairs. Base housing acted quickly and sent out Derek and manny from alliance which they did a great job.

I lived there in the early 90s with family it was pretty cool. I thought they shut that base down years ago. There was this field called Jack Rabbit field where they would fly their RC planes. Not sure if they built anything there. It has been 30 years since I have been there
