Please, I found a dog at the Chevron gas station in Porteville. I'm on the road. I'm not from this country and I couldn't take him with me. I gave him food. He's a small black dog, about 10 kg, very thin. I don't know where to go. So that someone can take care of him, I have called the phone but it cuts off, please, they are going to run him over there. The address is 951w teapot dime ave, Porteville chevron gas station, urgent!!!

This place needs better employees/volunteers. The young short haired front desk lady is very rude, inappropriate, discriminating, pushy/rushy, demanding, pure heartless & nasty. She speaks down to whoever doesn't appear to her liking, she makes you feel very uncomfortable & unwelcome to be there. I will not donate to this location ever again, nor will I ever be back here. Get some new people that are better trained properly & have respect towards everyone, there's no reason for an employee or a volunteer to be so disrespectful & hateful as she was!

The main animal control people including their temps & their volunteers need to do their actual job right. We had a volunteer animal control person trespassing on private property that has posted signs throughout the whole property, he removed a gate lock to enter the property. He admitted to removing the gate lock & seeing all the signs but then made up a story about why he was sent & why he came onto the property. However no animals were on the property at all & after speaking to a police officer & then calling to speak to a supervisor we found out that the volunteer animal control officer lied & had the wrong address the whole time. This is still not an excuse & still doesn't give them the right to trespass on private property or remove a gate lock at all. There are laws everyone must follow even police officers, animal control officers & code enforcement officers but my guess is that Porterville officers think they have the right to break laws & make up their own laws as they go.

They were really helpful and understanding on my situation on why I was so late on getting my dog. They were friendly , some to an extent , but honestly friendly. They were kind of busy so I don't hold nothing against them about the quick convos, they still were able to answer all my questions. And also explained every detail to me on how the shelter works.

Some people in Porterville are cruel to animals. People don't go the speed limit, and they don't stop for animals. However, I am grateful for the animal shelter. Anyone who hits an animal should be given a ticket to help fund the animal shelter. People need to turn themselves in.

We were dropping off 2 dogs we found abandoned so we became foster parents. The dogs were loaded onto a van to be taken to an adoption shelter in Oregon. The Shelter was just a drop-off point. I cannot comment any further or want to give the shelter any credit, except their use of the parking lot.

Dog ran away when we took her out to potty on 4th of July from fenced yard. She was chipped. Called shelter the next day. Asked if the had found a knee-high long-haired black dog . They said no black dogs. Called every other day while searching and putting up signs. They said no black dogs. After two weeks we went down to look for ourselves before giving up. There she was. Had been there the whole time. They swore they had scanned for chips 3 times. They don`t care if you get your dog back.

This is Willow. We adopted her a few days ago. She wasn’t at the shelter very long, but as soon as we saw her, we fell in love. She was very shy at first, and very unsure about everything but she is finally warmed up to us and our home

Give the best care possible to all the dogs, puppies or cats. Go above and beyond to send as many as they can to rescues and hold many adoption events.
