I made a same day reservation at Wild Fish on 12/27/21 but called a few hours later to cancel because a member of my party was not feeling well and suspected we had all been exposed to Covid. I spoke with the owner, Liz, who told me that we would be charged $100 if we cancelled, and she said the alternative was for the rest of the party to still come. We did not feel comfortable taking that risk and are glad we did not, because the sick member of our party was confirmed to have Covid the next morning, and the rest of the party is now isolating. I called Liz and she still held firm on not reimbursing the $100. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant if you have concerns about contracting Covid.

My recent dining experience at Wild Fish was nothing short of memorable. With every bite, I could taste the connections to local farms, fishing boats, and regional vintners. The menu offered wine pairings for each course, which I loved! The calamari served with blistered pasillas, chili lime aioli, and fresh herbs were light, perfectly cooked, and the best I have had anywhere. My Ahi Tuna melted in my mouth like butter. Artfully presented, the pepper and sesame-encrusted, Tamari glazed Tuna was draped over a variety of julienned, fresh vegetables that were tossed in fresh lime and Thai basil. All I can say is thank you Wild Fish for taking me on a memorable journey of flavors, from start to finish.

Closed. From everything we could tell online the place opens from the evening with good reviews for food, and active reservation page on Yelp. I booked weeks in advance for our anniversary, wife loves seafood. I even received a confirmation text the day before our reservation. We left Fort Bragg, arrived on time, only to find the building completely dark and no cars in sight of any employee. At first we thought maybe we're at a wrong location, so I stopped at a local inn and asked where it's located, only to find out that they closed up shop. Thankfully we went elsewhere and enjoyed our night, but nowhere online did I see any indication that it's closed for business, hoping this info helps as it still shows as an active business on Google Maps.

Aug. 26th ThursdayThis is a hard review to write but with the intention of helping to make someone else’s experience better…Maybe takeout would have been better? That was the plan, but we were able to get in last minute due to a no show. I asked out sitting outside as was told “there are only 2 tables.” Was too hungry and didn’t think more deeply.First—The food was 5⭐️fantastic!! See Photos of our cod and salmon entrees—so fresh, locally sourced, wonderful flavors. Also had the seasonal watermelon & sheep feta salad! Though watch for seeds. Service was attentive.4 ⭐️The main issue was that the small dining room was pretty tightly packed (definitely not spaced out) and the ventilation was lacking. I was so warm I stripped down to my tank top. It would have been more enjoyable and safer if the windows or door were more open and if more tables were outside (like last year). We’ve been here before (both this location and Pacific Grove) and love the food here. But I have to say we would have liked to feel safer COVID-wise while dining here.

This review is regarding our $226.00 dining experience on 07/10/2021. Since 2015 whenever my husband and I are in Mendocino celebrating our anniversary we make it a point to have dinner at Wild Fish. After we first dined at the restaurant in 2015 we raved to all of our friends about the absolutely delicious food, service & ambiance. Flash forward to 2021. We had reservations for 8:00 pm and arrived about 10 minutes early. Five minutes after we arrived another couple arrived for their 8:00 reservation as well. This is where our experience went down hill. The couple that arrived after us was for some reason seated before us. I thought maybe they're regulars and let it go. Then I overhead them talking about visiting the area and realized they were visiting from out of town just like we were. As our waitress seated us they were were asking for water. Our waitress arrived and I told her we were celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary. We ordered wine and I ordered the chowder. The first spoonful was so hot I had to gulp my wine. Then the intense spicy heat hit and my face began sweating. The waitress had NOT mentioned the chowder was spicy. I almost spit it out. Fortunately, I like spicy and the chowder was good. My husband's sable fish entree was so hot it almost burnt his tongue! I thought it would be nice to have some bread. I realized that everyone had been offered bread except for us. I asked a waitress for some bread and she said "You want more?" I told her no that we hadn't been offered any. She seemed put out having to walk the 5 feet to the kitchen door to bring us bread. Despite chatting with the couple that arrived after us we were completely ignored. We were dressed for dinner and arrived in our Mercedes. That's when I realized that the stark differing levels of service was likely due the fact that I am Native American (hubby is white) the other couple were both white. In the end our much anticipated anniversary dinner was ruined by the complementary side of racism.

We were able to snag the last reservation at 8:30 for dinner. It is pretty small indoors, so expect it to be loud and tables in close proximity. Service was a little slow, but we didn't mind cause we were in no rush. They were also very accommodating. The one entree I was interested in was actually out for the night, so they were willing to prepare my second choice the same way as the first choice. Of course, to get the best of both worlds, we also got the mixed oyster platter yum! I wish we had ordered more oysters. We left very content with our dinner and what this restaurant had to offer. So glad we ate here! Definitely a place I'd come back to.

Wow insinuating that I was littering in your herb garden is a pretty low excuse for having extremely rude staff and owner. (I don't know why I would be in your herb garden in the first place, and I definitely didn't litter) Whoever that person was (your co owner?) is truly a terrible person. Makes me wonder what other lies you've made up in response to negative Yelp reviews. Also makes me wonder if my poor treatment is due to the fact that I'm Asian. I've been discriminated against for being Asian all my life, I know how it feels. The way I was treated here feels like discrimination.

I have never had fish prepared as perfectly as this restaurant does. The halibut melted in my mouth, and was stupendous from first bite to last. My partner got the sea bass, which was also better than anything we have known before. If there is something better than the food, it was the amazing service we experienced. Everyone on the wait staff was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The only problem with this restaurant is that it ruined our dining experience at every other place we dined at on our trip (and we have been eating good!).

Small place, crowded, and limited red wine selection. Food was ok but nothing special for the price. Service was great though.

Food was good, service a mixed bag of beans. The sable fish hits a spot. However, our interaction with the hostess felt transactional at best and they declined our request to sit outside for... Really what surmounts to "it's too much work" (they do have table outside) despite what the business stated here on yelp. Every negative review you might have read about "rude obnoxious lady in front" and "restaurant not prepared for outdoor dining" is exactly echoed in our experience. If you believe your hard earned money should be exchanged for a satisfactory experience, I would not recommend this place.

Fantastic food! The service was a bit slow, but the food was so amazing it didn't matter. The sea bass was fantastic and so was the heirloom tomato, peach and house made ricotta salad. Oh and the deserts were incredible too!

If you want to be packed into a restaurant like sardines, Wild Fish is for you. This is a very small restaurant and it is jammed packed with tables so that neither the wait staff nor the patrons can feel comfortable. The service was haphazard. The food was good but we will not be back. Go across the street to the Little River Inn for a much better experience and same quality food.

Don't let the fact that this place looks like a shabby shack attached to a gas station fool you. This place serves fancy food with a price to match.Nice atmosphere as the sun goes down. The food and wine are very good. The portions are not terribly large and it can be a bit pricey. Good place for a fancy date if you're in the area.
