I went in and the lady in the store I think she said her name was Martha was so rude. She has no type of customer service skills. She should be working in the office if a little question makes her go off. She constantly yells at the top of her lungs. If she treats customers like that I'd hate to see how she treats those yard guys.

The lady that works there is so unprofessional. She talks to the customers and workers with zero respect. I don't know how she still works there the few times I went by there she was so lazy.

Van dam farms is our local favorite place for both feed & outside essentials ! Martha is the kindest lady who is more than willing to help & answer all of your questions ! The rest of the staff there is extremely kind , mostly the guys who load feed ! They are always happy to load our 10+ bales of hay & bags of grain into our truck , in whatever weather conditions the AV brings us . Always get high quality hay that the horses , goats & sheep enjoy ! Also nice to be able to run down the street to grab a tool or whatever . Love Van Dams & recommend 100% !

I came to this store at 8:40 a.m. and a person came out and told me that they open until 9:00 I came back to ask again and ask if they had the piece that he looked for so that he could wait for me in the area and not go to Lowe's or Home Depot and a woman came out to yell at me that they open until 9:00 am and she came back combing her hair all angry. I think that if they are a hardware store, they should open earlier because that's the right thing to do. I got really angry and left.

I like shopping at smaller hardware stores. They carry things that you can’t find at other big stores. Support your local businesses

I purchased a tube of tub/shower chaulk, I get home and discover I needed White chaulk not Almond (which I had accidentally purchaed).I went back the next day to exchange the chaulk and was told they do not except refunds or exchanges ! I have lived in this community for 30 yrs and always try to do my business in our town. Never again at this establishment, they obviously do not care, they never responded to past reviews.

I am sad that I have to post this review but it is what it is...I decided to try Van Dam farms for hay, grain and bran for my horses as I wasn't happy with my current supplier. I had their best grade of hay delivered and was both happy with the product and the delivery. In fact I tipped the driver for his work. At the time I ordered the hay I also picked up a bag of bran and this was the second time I had bought bran from them. Both times it turned up infested and had to be dumped. I brought back about a 2 lbs sample from the bag to show them. The said no reimbursement was possible without the entire bag (to show the supplier so they could get reimbursed). I explained the contents were in my bran barrel in east Palmdale as I hadn't dumped it yet but to make the round trip again would cost me $10 in fuel, not to mention loading that 55 gal drum in my truck and hauling it up there. Now we are talking about an $11 bag of feed, I had just spent $186 a few days earlier for feed and had planned to continue weekly purchases. I told them that the sample was self explanatory and it made no sense. They were losing an on going customer for a lousy $11. They clerk decided to call the manager but the penny wise and dollar foolish attitude persisted. I left them the sample so they could inform their supplier of the on going issue and left in search of another feed supplier. I had bought an electric fence system and some hardware from them on my previous visit and would have been a loyal customer had it not been for a foolish decision.

Very well-stocked. You can find anything you need in there. Really well organized and was so thrilled to have a good hardware store that's local that I don't have to drive 20 miles to Lowe's. However I went in to get a bale of hay and they refused to load it. They wanted me to load the bale. I am 71 years old and I weigh 125 pounds and have a back injury there is no way I could drag that into my vehicle. I was shocked. I had to go back in and get my money back. Guess I'll be going to Lowe's from now on. And get my hay and feed supplies elsewhere I have never been treated so badly.
