Meh. It's tiny and has better yarn than a craft store, but nothing local, no indie dyers, nothing unique. I appreciate that they carry a good selection of needles in styles and sizes, but I was discouraged from browsing them myself. Definitely not a place to hang out and talk yarn- really quite awkward and tiny.

This was such a wonderful community and town to live in. Not just wine country living but all the fantastic restaurants, shops and events. LOVED our time here.

People who are triggered in the reviews because they didn't receive an instant greeting as soon as they walked through the door and a thank you for their holy presence need to chill out. It's a small store. Sometimes there is only one employee available; sometimes that employee is busy. Wouldn't you feel disrespected if you were receiving your customer service and had it interrupted for someone else who just happened to walk into the store? It's called waiting for your turn, ya'll I've been here quite a few times and Sandy has been extremely helpful without fail! Not everyone likes to have an employee breathing down their neck as soon as they walk into a shop either; some of us know what we want to get or don't and just want to poke around curiously! If you have any questions though, all you have to do is ask nicely. Sandy is very knowledgeable. Also, is the yarn expensive? Yes. But guess what, good yarn is. Your typical scratchy acrylic yarn that you can find at Michael's doesn't make for a very cozy or wearable scarf. While it may be cheaper to fund a project, is it actually going to be something that you enjoy wearing? Or at least, something that doesn't give a rash? TLDR; This store is lit.

Took my male friend with me to visit and the ladies made him welcome. I was really glad I took him because he knows Livermore well and the shop is tucked away in a shopping center. I hope to get him to come back to a knitting class soon. I like the new shop! It is organized well and has a separate room for classes.

Love my beautiful city, and it gets better with the years. Great wineries, beautiful downtown, very good restaurants.

I just moved into the area from San Luis Obispo. I checked this place out twice. The first time I went in, no one greeted me. Second time, the lady that helped me was really pushy and completely overwhelmed me. Also, their yarn is way too pricey. The yarn I usually buy are priced higher than at the local yarn shop in San Luis Obispo. I am pretty disappointed in the lack of yarn shops around here.

Drove a long way to be disappointed. The store is very small and the staff is not welcoming at all. They had a class going on which takes up half the space of the store and is crammed up in front of yarn which you aren't able to check out. I guess you can say they saved us money since we couldn't really look at everything. There's a small room off the side of the entrance that I couldn't figure out if it was a storage room or for the customers because it was junky feeling. But I thought if I wasn't suppose to be there they would tell me to get out. We waited a good ten minutes to pay for a skein of yarn and a book. No acknowledgement, welcome or thanks for coming in. The instructor is somewhat of a crabby thing. I was trying to look at yarn and she squeezed by me without an "excuse me". One customer left without purchasing her items because she was tired of waiting. Check this off the list - not going back.

I went back again to see if my original review was given unjustly. No...spent 10 minutes in the store before anyone said hello or tried to help. I swear, stores like this one are the reason I want to start a customer service counseling business.

Although the downtown Pleasanton location is quaint, the shop is not. Sandy's selection is limited and her prices are high. I went in looking for specific interchangeable needles and she did not even recognize the brand (Chiagoo Twist) which I thought was peculiar. She is quick to try to upsell you on one of her "kits" or "clubs" but her reputation with the local knitting groups have warned me about the quality of her subscription products. Her class instructors are nice, but they get the short end of the stick when she either won't or delays paying them for their services. Plus she serves alcohol at her events without a license or any care about people driving away intoxicated. Poor business practices make me think she won't be in business too much longer.
