“I’ve been bringing my grandmother to LOEL for about a month now, and it has been wonderful. We reached out after moving her husband into hospice, hoping to find her a supportive community. Vicky answered all my questions over the phone and invited us in for a tour. The following week we signed her up, and now she goes every day.
She enjoys exercising, coloring, and even picked up knitting. Most importantly, she’s talking more, making friends, and truly feels part of a community. I’m so grateful for the welcoming environment the staff has created.
Thank you to Vicky, Curtis, and Harrison for your compassion, kindness, and support in making Shirley feel so at home.”

“Great place, helps low income folks struggling w/food insecurity, helps people get help paying their utilities, helps addicted people get clean and back on their feet. They even have a culinary training program. A great bunch of folks, oh , they also have bible study and church on Sun., not to mention the trillion other things they help out with. Great to have them in our community! Thanks! Really.....”
“Went there for an American red cross blood drive. Pretty cool place with an obvious great history to it. Would love to be apart of something like that with that much local history.”
“I was there for a crab feed. The crab feed was amazing! If you are interested in a place to hold events their space is worth considering if you are not looking for anything fancy. They have a kitchen and bathrooms. Space for seating and you can add a dance floor. I am not sure if we use their sound system or bring our own. But it is always very hard to hear in there so that is one thing I would recommend an upgrade to and you to further inquirer about if this is a consideration for your event.”

“When it comes to donating to animal shelters/rescues I donate to them. They are always full of small dogs and kitties. They have very limited space and do their best to care for all of the animals. I think of them as the Cinderella of shelters. Most people donate to the larger, newer, better equipped shelters. This one seems to be forgotten and had so many needs! The ladies that work there are very kind and caring to all the animals and also very grateful for all donations.”
“The Victorian tea was such a lovely afternoon.
