This has been a very long 2 days of trying to get prescriptions filled for pain medication and I’ve been to this pharmacy before for other meds but my pain meds were filled at 24 hour pharmacy before and their out, called and was told it was ok to transfer prescription so I did, then told oh we have to speak to doctor, then at the end was told your doctor is 58 miles away because thats where I went for major surgery, then told I need to get a doctor thats here local or in Stockton because they won't fill from that far, I live 2 miles or less from Safeway. In the mean time they questioned everything and I told them they were violating my HIPPA rights and they said no because they're dispensing medication to me that its ok which actually in the end they didn't dispense anything and now know everything about my medical condition, the doctors I see, what surgery I had, when I had it even though they knew they were trying to get out of giving anything because they said if they give me pain medication it would leave them low for their regular customers. since when did the pharmacist become a care provider and have the right to force you to give them medical information agains't your will and say they have the right to know what I'm being treated for and why because they are a care provider, I have never been examined by a pharmacist or given permission and been forced to against my will until today.

I have had difficulty refilling my meds on a timely manner since I moved in November.. I have been with my same doctor ( in the Bay Area ) but been with him since 2016 . I do take two meds that are "controlled" meditation. They are the lowest on the "schedule" and I have never have had a single issue with other pharmacies, doctors etc. I have Real helath issues and pay a lot of money for insurance and often pay straight out of pocket.. since most insurance isn't interested in doing their job and paying for what you have paid them to provide. Anyhow , my compliant here is with this particular pharmacy.. there are a few friendly and helpful staff members, but only a couple ! The rest are cold and uncaring. I have had to fight tooth and nailTo get my scripts filled just on time .. which actually give patient's a window of 28 days to fill their meds .. even controlled medication! I have spoken with my insurance company, my doctor and I have all the paperwork needed to back up my claim that I had a dental operation last week... and rather than break the rules of accepting medication from my dentist I told him I had meds at home and that I would be ok and I certainly didn't want to cause any trouble with breaking my contract with my doc etc. so I follow the rules to the letter of the law . I talk to my primary care doc ( who I am so grateful for ) he has really helped me :.as a person with several autoimmune issues .. plus multiple surgeries due to major injuries from being a professional athlete that had me in chronic pain 24/7 my dr helped me wean off of the stronger meds and find my balance and quality of life on much less medication that I came to him taking .. anyhow so here I sit Friday night I have my last medication to take tonight since I have to take a total of 4 "extra" which puts me at 29 days tomorrow and they won't fill my script for me ! How can it be legal for them to control that serious of a matter. This is hugely disruptive to my life and I have been going through this for the last 3 months with this ridiculous situation! I guess what some people don't understand is that when you talk meditation due to serious health issues and you have been stable and living physically and mentally with a. Pretty good quailing of life and then allOf the sudden the pharmacy says no to your refillLike they did last month and counted 32 days instead of 30 ( and again, by law we do have a 48 hour window which is consider ok and not looked upon as "early "Yet I am asking for a med refill at 39Days now and they won't release ! This is my last time I will ever use this pharmacy again ! I am a not mail person just trying to live a normal life and every time I have to kick and fuss and make a big deal about just simply getting my meds refilled I fill like a criminal and that is such a gross feeling.. I see that based on the other comments above others have have some not so good experiences with this pharmacy as well. Any suggestions as to where to go to get decent customer service and refill of medication without feeling like a criminal?

The waiting really sucks but the customer service is better than majority of the pharmacies. If they figure out a way to cut the wait times, then Safeway pharmacy will get 5 stars from everyone.

I switched to here cause it was cheaper than CVS IN target. Like way cheaper. The pharmacist are so friendly and outgoing and they always remember me when I go in. Fills are super fast and rarely out of stock. My only complaint is how slow the line moves I try and hit the times no one is there. I usually get pretty lucky. Other than that this is my go to. I would rather suffer than try Walgreens ever again and Safeway has late hours so I'm able to pick stuff up in the evenings. They aren't open a lot of holidays though and close early Sundays.

I ordered a Birthday Cake for my daughter’s Birthday and 3 .5 hours before the pick up time they call to tell me they didn’t make the cake because they haven’t had a decorator all week.

My daughter has been on the same medication since she was 9. New to the area, and a new Dr, this RX was prescribed, they said they were questions about it and they needed to talk to the doctor before they could fill it, the doctor called them... And they still refuse to fill it!

Very very clean and organized. Only and I mean only downside is certain employees that not only have attitude on their faces they also act like answering a simple question just ruined their day. How dare I ask is the pharmacy closed for lunch or the day. She walked off like she never heard me. The prices are much higher than Food 4 Less and Walmart that are literally across the street. Those stores though I can't stand at all. I will pay more to avoid shopping over there.

The pharmacy is a mess. Very under staffed. Wait time to pick up is 20-30 minutes in line. One cashier. Always. Pharmacist doesn't care. Awful.

I’ve been going to Safeway for literally decades. The staff today at the Safeway in Lodi, CA were so rude and condescending to me that they actually made me cry.
