I just wanted to come on here and say that my cashier today , Cynthia , did a great troubleshooting and was beyond kind. Her computer froze up and it wasn’t budging so she helped everyone and got us into the next line and out the door in a very timely fashion. Which as a business owner I really appreciate. We are a business that shops at smart and final at least once a week and it’s because of the amazing customer service of people like Cynthia , and KC. Thank you guys so much !

Many First Street brand items are priced very fair. This is the only reason I shop there from time to time. I went in the other day - this is the third time in a row that Ive shopped there and never even got a hello from the cashier. I feel like they are upset and so unhappy to be working...? Its just weird to me. The only conversation was my total for my grocery items. No, hello... no how are you... no thanks for shopping with us.... NOTHING.
Their produce is also gross. Everything aside from jalepenos goes rotten within 2-3 days. Just my own experience

I have been shopping S&F for some time. I typically go to the Stockton location which is very nice and clean. I decided to go to Lodi yesterday as it was more convenient at the time. I instantly regretted it. Should have never even stepped foot inside given the conditions of the outside. Cart area was absolutely disgusting. Went inside and was immediately greeted by a foul odor (not something you want when shopping for food). I proceeded with my shopping while continuously taking note of how poor the store is kept. Last straw was when my child had to use the bathroom. I was appalled when we opened the bathroom door and was blasted with the smell of urine and garbage. Not surprising seeing has the floor was covered in urine and clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time (GROSS)!!! That was it. Closed the door, pushed my cart to the side and left. Will NEVER return! Such a waste of time and a big turn off. So disgusting. Get it together!!!!!

Surprisingly pleasant cashier! Professional, too. Fast checkout, fully stocked shelves, a good variety of basic groceries + some specialty foods.This is a non-membership "warehouse" that carries lots of supplies that would be typically used by restaurants, for example, or small commercial cleaning companies. (If Costco's jumbo packaging is too much for you, it's another good reason to check out Smart & Final -- and again, without having to pay the membership fee.)That means it's a great place for bulk shopping if you're feeding a lot of people -- you know, like a reunion, a large birthday party, or other group get-together.And if you are generally into cooking, I would always come here first for commercial-grade knives and other kitchen utensils and tools, including pots and pans.
