I would give 0 stars if I could… before if I ever asked for any questions about projects or anything I needed to do and the customer service has just gone down the drain. So dissatisfied with the customer service. I come here to get keys made and used to work on 2nd street for a while as well and today was the rudest old man I’ve encountered with no eye contact whatsoever. Today I asked the front cashier to use the restroom momentarily and the cashier was sweet and wanted to let me use the restroom the. Looked at the balding old man for an answer as I asked to use it just to change my clothes because I had an accident “red” on my white dress and he literally looked me up and down and said no then pointed and said go to rite aid. That’s no way to treat a person … he had no matters as needs to learn people skills and to be kind. I don’t care what your bathroom policy may be…. There was no I’m sorry our policy does not allow it or you need to purchase something to use the restroom. You could tell the young lady at the cashier knew how rude he was. I feel sorry for her having to deal with higher management like that. Please go yo any other Ace hardware. AVOID AT ALL COST unless you want to be treated like trash

Edit: Oh wow Doug, thank you. I can't appreciate you enough for acting on this. My husband frequents the gym nearby and has said that he hasn't seen those guys around. It's late now and sorry not to call, but thank you for being so considerate of the neighborhood and it's needs. No wonder this shop has been around for generations!
Original: Really hate walking by here because of the vendor stall with the two young guys that sit there and talk about passerbys and laugh like hyenas. Go back to high school where you peaked. So rude and childish. They get away with it though bc people just walk by and most don’t catch it

Great hardware store packed floor to ceiling with everything and anything you could possibly need. They also have a nice selection of beach accessories like coolers & beach chairs.
The service is always first rate and absolutely worth the hassle of parking on 2nd street.
I especially appreciate the paint department as they always get me what I need quickly.

Customer service was poor and I’m being nice .
Wanting to support local business I went to the store this morning. I wondered around upstairs looking for help finally found someone who pointed me in the direction of what I was looking for while they walked away. Best part wasn’t there, I finally found what I needed then grabbed a bag of potting soil, no one to help me carry the bag down the stairs to pay. No hello or anything, there was a blank stare, that counts right?

A hardware store that takes you back to the 70s &80s. You can find just about everything and the helpful staff are all over while you shop. Too bad the big boxes have killed many like this one. I will go back just to explore.

Paid for parking, was told I couldn’t have a couple of boxes out of the stack of empty boxes in the back, then spent $17 on 3 medium boxes. Woohoo! Summer was nice though.

This review is long overdue but here we go I absolutely hate the energy at the store. All the employees come off as miserable judgmental. And they all discriminate, they treat you like a scumbag. Even if you're just a honest person looking for something in the store to purchase. I hate the way they treat you at the check out like a security Check at the airport. It's absolutely ridiculous how overreactive they are when you're trying to return something with a receipt. I got pissed off. Because they gave me a horrible time. When I tried to return a sottering iron. the very next day with a receipt? They told me. I could quote sell it on the street I hate to say it. But I think they are ignorantly racist. If you don't have that rich white boy look, they treat you like you're going to steal.they have no social grace nor professionalism...something needs to be done.
