Just drove to this store to inquire about getting a new iPhone and service plan only to find that they’re closed at 2 o’clock on a Monday. Sign in the store window says closed for lunch until 230. I guess that’s where we are these days, can’t even count on a retail store being open in the middle of a weekday afternoon.

I really hate that I have to tell this story but ok…I went into the AT&T store on Atlantic in the Bixby Knolls area of Long Beach because initially, I thought they could help me with a billing issue. But they couldn’t and that was fine, but I also needed to upgrade my business phone. So I started looking into it but they wanted me to trade-in my old phone and I would still owe like $700 for the phone. It didn’t sound right to me so I said wait, hold-off on this, I need to talk to the owner of the account because I Remembered that he was getting a special promotion for joining with AT&T recently. So as soon as I wasn’t going to upgrade my phone with them, all the sudden the Manager, Andrew’s attitude changes. Now it’s like ok hurry up and go. So I got my phone back and I asked the manager Andrew and another employee, a Hispanic young woman, are you sure that you didn’t start the upgrade because I use this phone to work as it’s the phone for my family tax business. They both said that it was on and that there was nothing started. So I leave and go about my day. Come to find out, my phone is indeed not on, but it’s actually off and the upgrade was in fact actually started. I called them, from my other phone, and the manager Andrew answered. He was more concerned with the fact that they were closing soon, rather than the fact that my phone was off. So I get there and the manager, Andrew has an attitude, like I’m bothering him. He takes my phone and switches out the SIM card. And gives my phone back with no explanation, no apology, nothing. Like it was me who had done something to make the phone, not work and not his employee. So I leave, thinking it’s all good. The next day, I find out that my cellular data is not turned on. So I can’t use the internet if I’m not at home. I leave out on an Uber trip (I Uber to meet people for my Real Estate) and my $50 airport run glitches out on me once I leave out from my garage because I have no cellular data. So I loose the $50 ride. So once again, I go back into the store. And once again, the manager, Andrew is acting like I’m there just to pester him. He won’t even explain what happened and why I had to come back in there for the 2nd time. So by now, I’m very frustrated. Now they are costing me time and money. So yes, I’m a little brash with him by now. But he’s still acting like I’m just in there to ruin his day. So I ask him for his business card and he tells me that he doesn’t have one. So I take a photo of his name badge which he didn’t like so much. And I’m seeing where this is going so I just took my phone and started to leave. He then yells out to me as I’m waking out, “it’s not my fault you don’t pay your bill”. First of all, the phone that I was planing to upgrade is NOT the phone that I initially came into the store about regarding the billing issue. I run multiple businesses and I have 2 phones. Second of all, I have been paying AT&T $200-$275/month every month, for the last 14 years. And now I’m here in a retail store and the “manager” is yelling this at me after I’ve had to come back into the location twice in the last 24-hr just to get my phone to work that I do business on everyday and use to Uber!! I’m officially done with AT&T. I will be paying off ALL 3 of my phones/watches and going over to T-mobile. This is NOT how you treat people. I’m just disappointed that people don’t have any genuine concern for each other anymore. Very sad ?
