I found Banfield when my cat almost died. That was more than 10 years ago. Not only did they save her then, they are the reason she is still alive and 1 month from her 19th birthday. They are the only people I trust my fur babies to and are worth every penny.

We see Dr George and tend to get in and out seem less but expect a wait if you see other parents waiting for their pets.

My recent visits to Banfield for my dog's renal disease follow-up have left me highly disappointed and frustrated. Over the past two weeks, my dog has had multiple appointments, each leaving me with a growing sense of dissatisfaction.During the first visit, they conducted tests to check her renal levels, which ended up costing over $300. After waiting anxiously for the results, I was informed that her levels were slightly elevated compared to the previous test, but still lower than the initial test which set me back over $200. This already seemed like a costly ordeal. However, my dog's health took a turn for the worse in the subsequent week, with declining appetite, energy levels, and persistent vomiting due to an empty stomach. Following their advice, I purchased the over-the-counter medications for stomach acid and prescribed appetite stimulation they suggested. On top of that, they recommended further urine testing, which in total cost an astonishing $500+ for this visit. Not to mention, during my last visit, they also recommended an additional test to see if she had a pancreatic disease that may be the cause of her symptoms. I declined, as I wanted to wait for the urine test results first. They promised results within 24-48 hours, which sounded reasonable. To my dismay, I didn't receive any update or test results three days after the test. Anxious and concerned, I called to follow up. They nonchalantly mentioned that the test was still "pending" and indicated it could take until the end of Saturday to get results - way beyond their initial estimate. This delay left me feeling helpless about my dog's deteriorating condition. My frustration escalated when my husband tried to reach out for information. He was kept on hold for an unreasonable 25 minutes before deciding to call back. To our astonishment, they picked up the call only to hang up on him, and subsequent calls were met with an automated message claiming they were closed. This lack of professionalism and communication is unacceptable, especially considering the emotional distress of pet owners who are genuinely concerned about their furr-babies. The constant upselling of tests and medications, coupled with delays in providing crucial information, has made me seriously question the quality of care provided at Banfield.I had hoped for a reliable and compassionate veterinary experience for my dog's health issues. Unfortunately, my recent interactions with Banfield have left me feeling frustrated, disillusioned, and even more concerned about my dog's well-being. I'll be exploring other options for my pet's care moving forward.

Had an appointment for weeks for time sensitive exam for immigration and their front desk scheduled me incorrectly and screwed me over so I'm not able to get my paperwork done in time for my cat. Now I'm scrambling to find a competent vet. Thanks.

I took my cat here for a simple ear mite treatment. I paid $250+, only for them to tell me that my cat doesn't have mites. Still charged me for revolution, an ointment, which I understand could be for preventative purposes. Red flag is they gave me instructions not to put the revolution on my cat until a week later? I've never had to wait to put revolution on my cat, there's no reason why. If I don't put it, his mites will get worse and will probably be another trip to the vet which means more $$$. I also paid $70 for ear cleaning just for me to check my cats ear and they DID NOT CLEAN HIS EARS. Makes me wonder if they even looked in his ears. I've been trying to call but no one answers, and they disable their phones even though they are still open (I call at 4:30-5 and their phones don't connect even though they are open until 5:30). This is so ridiculous and unprofessional, corporate vets are so unhelpful and complete SCAM

If I wasn't locked into one of their Optimum Wellness Scams, I'd take my business elsewhere. This location set my unvaccinated puppy on the ground, and after submitting feedback about this instance, the same employee attempted to set my dog on the ground AGAIN at the next visit. She still is not fully vaccinated against Parvo. I cannot get a response from the District Manager regarding this and a few other MAJOR issues, despite 10 follow up requests over the past month to customer service. I requested a response from Dr. George via email to find out why she gave my pup a fecal exam for parasites, when she was already on her 4th deworming treatment & I didn't request it. There are 3 fecal exams included in the Wellness Plan...I guess they try to use them up right away without your permission, so when you do suspect your pet may have worms, you have to pay out of pocket for a test. When I returned her call she was "in surgery". I asked for an email back, and never rec'd one. Don't waste your money. Also the "vet chat" feature included in the Wellness Plans is not a chat with a veterinarian as the name suggests. The chat is monitored by vet techs. Very deceptive.

Happy Banfield has several locations. The Signal Hill location has staffing problems and has been closed several days. It would be great if they posted the closure or days of operations on their website.

I officially cancelled the last of my Banfield Wellness plans today based on the poor customer service at this location.I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I do believe the vets care about the animals, and I don't believe my dog was mistreated.Rather, the problem is a series of customer service faults capped by an event today involving one technician staff member which sealed the deal for me. I think I've paid Wellness Subscription monthly pricing to Banfield for 8 years, 6 of which were for two dogs. That is quite a lot of money, most of which does not translate into real value in my experience. I won't stand for the added lack of customer service with that much money paid to them over the years.I won't air specific grievances here, but I recommend to new pet owners to seek alternative options. Banfield is overpriced and rarely seems worth the large total sum of $ I have paid them. This, especially considering the treatment I received given the duration of time I've been paying them. Both of my dogs now go to another local vet that I have much better service from. Happy to recommend if anyone has interest!
