The best gym in Long Beach! Employees are super friendly and very helpful! I go around 5pm everyday (probably busiest time) and I never have trouble getting a rack or machine.

My fitness home for 23 years! I love the Belmont. Cardio room has all the machines you need and the weight room is a good size so you can move around easily without waiting. The classes are excellent, my favorites taught by Marita and Justin. Locker room has a great spa for a steam or relaxing massage and always kept very clean. Staff are the best, super friendly....Jeff and Nicole are awesome humans.

The Belmont is not only the best athletic club in Long Beach. But myself and many others would say the best So Cal. It is also the best value for your money because of all the pluses you get with membershipFor over forty years The Belmont has provided a fully comprehensive personal workout facility available from the early mornings to the late evening. The changing area always has clean showers with lockable-lockers and towels. The included steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi are always Hot. Not just warm. Throughout my years, The Belmont facility, including all the different areas and rooms, have always been well maintainedAll the equipment and machines you need to match your desired workout are clean and ready to go. Plus more group classes than you can schedule in your week. You can spin, yoga, dance,Pilates and more until you have reached your desired level of calm and peace with the world.Plus massage service is available if you need more stress and pain focus with less personal effort.Plus, and almost too good to be true: a world class pub, right over your head. From the club to the pub, is just through one door. The best sandwiches on Second Street. All the sports du jour showing on as many T.V.’s as you can possibly watch. Plus, a patio overlooking Second Street if you just enjoy watching people.PaulMember

I've been coming here since I moved to the area three years ago. It's my "third place". I love that I get a warm welcome when I arrive, the gym is always clean, there's never any creepy behavior, I feel safe, and can get my swole on in peace. The locker rooms have free locking lockers which is perfect, clean showers, nice spa. They have all the equipment I can think of and there's never a line for the squat rack like literally every other gym I've been to.I've done a lot of the classes including the strength lab and all have been fun and well taught. It's affordable, clean, well equipped, and has a good vibe. What more could you ask for. All of the employees are professional and friendly, especially Nicole! She's always there working hard, smiling. She should get a raise!

LOVE the Belmont Athletic Club. The staff is warm and courteous. The equipment is clean and well cared for - and there is plenty of it. This really is a family club. Nice people, always smiling and saying hello. They have events, mixers, go to ball games. Just a nice place to workout.

Ok! My honest review of this gym!I’ve only been a member of equinox so maybe that’s why I find my rating to be lower. I’m comparing it to a luxury gym but then again I know I can’t!Pros!- the price! You can’t beat it- 98.9% of the time I go in to work out all the equipment and machines I want to use are available! This was not the case at equinox. So there’s that.- good amount of space for you to work out and stretch! I love that you can always find a solo area for yourself!- the staff are super nice! Like beyond! Good vibes all around!- the jacuzzi is a plus and I’m obsessed with the steam room. Which brings me to my the cons!Cons- steam room is right underneath the basketball court. It’s extremely loud in there. It’s not relaxing at all! Kinda jarring and it kills the mood. The design of that area is awful. But I get past that because like I said I love steam rooms- I highly dislike the smell of whatever cleaner they use in the shower and in the front. It straight up smells like sulfur or sewerage water mixed with chlorine- the machines and equipment could be cleaner. It looks like they have NEVER been cleaned. So if that’s important you will not like this place.- when I signed up to this gym they offered me two free training sessions. Which I never received. I was looking forward to that because I was definitely considering hiring a trainer. One trainer did contact me but her schedule was much later. I don’t work out in the evenings. And then nothing!

I've been a member of the Belmont for over 20 years. The facility is clean and the equipment is always well maintained. It's never overly crowded. I signed up for the Shore Strength Lab last fall and feel incredible. The trainers are very knowledgeable and attentive. The small group classes make me feel like I'm getting a personal training session. I highly recommend the Belmont!

My husband and I went to try out the gym for one day, we were even willing to pay for a day pass. They said we weren’t allowed to go in without knowing a member there. This was super frustrating especially since we called earlier and they said we could come in for one day if we were new. I’m not really sure how they have members if you aren’t allowed to try out the gym. The girl at the front desk didn’t give us any other options at all?

Every gym has weights, machines etc. What makes the Belmont special is the staff. Just good people that I enjoy interacting with when I come for a workout.

I'd like to preface this review by saying that Belmont Athletic Club is not a great place to go if you are disabled or of old age. I have been going here for over 3 years now, and I have to say that I really enjoy this gym. It doesn't have the most modern amenities or the nicest equipment however, it is very calm and the gym goers are respectful and the staff is kind. Unfortunately, there is one woman who is employed here, a personal trainer by the name of Stephanie (she also told me that she is management). Stephanie is not very kind or respectful unlike the other employees here, nor does she display any degree of competence for customer service or understanding of the laws of physics. I am a retired military veteran and have suffered a great degree of injury to my right leg and foot. I broke all the bones in a high energy impact and because of that, I suffer neuropathic pain from the nerves that were severed and destroyed after my surgery. Stephanie and I often exchange glances, smiles, and pleasantries on occasion. Unfortunately Stephanie does not understand that some people have disabilities that inhibit them from being able to perform the same way as people who are not disabled. As part of my 100% disability, I am unable to wear close toed shoes, and this really bothers Stephanie for reasons personal to her; I will soon explain. In my time in the military, we wore composite or steel toed shoes when we were in the vicinity of heavy things that had the capacity to hurt our feet. Stephanie has many times harassed me in a condescending manner, telling me I am not allowed to engage in the weight training area because of my prescribed open toed footwear... To which I respectfully oblige so that I don't cause any problems. Today however, Stephanie approached me at the front desk and preemptively told me not to go to the weight room because of my shoes. I told her I understand, and asked if it was for insurance reasons, but to my surprise she said "no. And it's not because the mesh of a closed toed shoe will protect your foot anyways, but it's common sense to not wear open toe shoes to a gym". This really put a different spin on things for me now that she's just openly told me it was not for insurance, and not to protect my feet (because mesh won't stop a 45lb weight from crushing your foot), but unfortunately it was just because it bothered her and it was of her opinion that my choice of footwear was wrong. A personal trainer here who claims to be management just admitted it's not an insurance issue, and agreed with me that nothing short of composite or steel toed footwear would protect feet from the impact of a heavy load... So why enforce a rule that isn't protecting anybody legally or physically? How embarrassing that this gym employs a woman with such little integrity and blatant disregard for the physical handicaps of the disabled. I myself am a military veteran who was permanently disabled in the line of duty, and retired for such injuries sustained. I will end this review by saying that it is against the rules of this gym to wear open toed shoes in the weight room, but by Stephanie's own verbatim- the rules are not for insurance purposes and not enforced for the safety of individuals, but because it is "inappropriate". Stephanie is the same kind of backwards thinker who held us back so many years ago by enforcing asinine rules like women wearing outfits that "showed skin" or were "too revealing". Too small minded and ignorant to realize that people may dress a particular way because it makes them feel comfortable due to health or disability. With that said Stephanie, I hold no grudge against you and I only wanted to voice my concerns of your erratic behavior and old-fashioned thinking in a public forum (because I can). I hope that you can receive better management training, and as a manager of the gym (which you said you are in addition to being a trainer) I think you perhaps you should rethink the opened toed shoes policy for

Been coming here since middle school. Great clean equipment and the best steam room. Would 10/10 recommend.
