I've stayed at quite a few Best westerns and they are usually outstanding. This one in Long Beach is not. Do yourself a favor and choice one of the many other hotels in the area. The manger David Mora is unresponsive and unwilling to fix problems or make them right. Which is not how most Best western hotels operate. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel. This hotel does not meet the standards of all the other best westerns which is sad because BW is a great chain except this one.

I am very disappointed in the customer service I experienced over the phone and how they could not help me with making changes to the reservations. I just needed to check in one day later. Now I know I will not be staying there next year. Just know if something comes up and you want to make any changes they will not help you out.

Rooms smelled very nice and were clean. Breakfast was fine for being free. Only downside is the current construction going on which they don't start till 8 am. No good views from the room but close to the port and pier.Rooms: Clean and smelled niceWalkability: Close to the pier and cruise portFood & drinks: Enough for a free breakfast

The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean, and it was affordable. The breakfast was good, and overall, it was a great stay. The location is ideal for those going on a cruise, and there is so much within walking distance. We also appreciated that the hotel informed us in advance about ongoing construction inside during the day. However, it didn't bother us much as we weren't inside much and only stayed for one night.Nearby activities: Vons grocery store and a few different restaurants within walking distance

The room and location was okay, but they have rooms under construction and it produced EXTREMELY LOUD noises before it was even 8AM.The construction was on the third floor right across from our room, but you can hear the loud noise across the entire building. Even when we went to have breakfast on the first floor, we could still not avoid the noise. We can't hear the sound from the TV, we can't hear each other talking unless we are yelling. It's completely insane that this place is open with such noise. They have a small sign on the front desk about some rooms under renovation, but you would not believe how loud and how early the construction is. They claimed that they put it on their website and all and refused to do anything about it, but we booked through a travel agency from work and had no idea at all. $300+ a night for such experience is total nonsense. We were here for business conference and did not get good sleep. I left the hotel early than planned because I couldn't have any online meeting or even phone calls in the hotel with such loud noise.Unless you are getting out of the hotel before 8AM, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.See video evidence (sound on)- One video is construction on third floor, the other is having breakfast on first floor

The stay was fine, rooms was satisfactory however post guest experience, not great. Multiple attempts to retrieve my wife’s seeing glasses which were left in the room. Multiple requests to check back in, come back, call again, etc. Staff unable to check “lost and found locker”, and when manager was onsite, individual was too busy to check because they were “busy”. Wish they could just confirm they have them and give them to us, or say they were never found, lost, broken etc. We are visiting family to put a pet down this weekend and my wife can’t see. Why can’t an issue like this get resolved in a 3 day span? Why can’t hotel call if something is found in a room?

I am not a fan of staying in bigger cities but this hotel felt safe, the rooms were clean and even though the hotel was full it was very quiet. There are a lot of restaurants and nice little bodega with a great selection of alcohol and snacks just around the corner. The hotel must be going through remodeling, the parking entrance looked like a construction site and was not marked. The majority of the parking is underground with a 6'6" height limit. We were traveling with 4 adults for an outdoor festival, so we had the roof rack on our SUV. The clerk cleared a spot for us next to a fork lift and utility trailer.I am glad I did not have to navigate tight parking in the underground garage. I know this is out of the hotels control, and comes with staying in a high density area. The breakfast was good, and plentiful but the space is very tight.

Rooms are acceptable but have a bad experience during my last stay there. USD125 was deducted from my deposit and no invoice was issued. Upon enquiry and after 3 months, they replied that the amount was deducted due to faulty drawer with damaged hinge. I was wondering since when did a drawer have a hinge and have no recollection of any damage as I don't normally use drawers in hotels and only place my belongings on table top in case I forgot to take when checkout. Really upset about the way they handle my case. No proof of damage and no notification at all. Money was just deducted without authorisation and NO refund was given. Will take photos of condition of room in future or ask the hotel to check room and ensure all are in order during checkout to prevent losing unnecessary monies/ deposit in future. Take it as I paid for a lesson of how hotels can just claim damage and deduct monies without any proof or invoice issued which really upset me.Reply to BW response in this post: I have written to BW and you refused to refund... bringing up to the bank does not help... refund have to be from BW..

I give them 2 stars only because of the breakfast. I live in Temecula needed a place to stay for night because I was visiting a family member in longbeach Memorial Hospital, I booked online with no problem upon checking in mind you this is midweek only a few people that I could see the parking lot was empty, it has 2 handicap parking spaces, I am a handicap man. Upon checking in I was informed there was $23. In extra fees for parking on the property. I was never informed of this, funny it pissed me off, they should be very upfront about things like this, I wouldn't have minded it if I knew, I asked the desk clerk if he would comp it to me he said sure, then on the other side of the room was the owner overhearing the clerk and said NO you must pay the $23 What a Dick, there was nobody else parking there for the exception of a construction crew truck, everywhere in ca handicap parking is FREE just expect to pay lucky for me there was a few handicap parking across the street, but BEWARE of the Bums and homeless people looking to rob you or break in your car, I was able to see my car from the window of my room. The breakfast wasn't too bad if you like powdered eggs. I'm sorry I didn't even need to post this because of all the other negative posts already here, just read some. I will never return here...

Friendly service and nice rooms, but we ran into lots of trouble. First our card keys didn't work, then after visit back to the front desk we find out that the room smells badly of weed. They were able to send someone in to unlock an open the window and spray some air freshener which is nice. But after these delays it meant that we couldn't get dinner because every restaurant literally just shut.
