Have you ever gone into your bank and been asked your name. Been treated like a complete stranger.? Not so at Farmers & Merchants Bank. You walk in and it’s like walk into a family home. You get first class treatment and you don’t even have to stare at plexiglass between you and the teller. It is an experience to go there and know that you will be treated like you matter. This particular store is managed by Raymond Cervantez. He’s accessible, intelligent, knowledgeable, Experienced. You’re in good hands at Farmers & Merchants Bank.

So I am sharing this only for others can be prepared to be confused and not directly told they can not help you with a refinance or equity line for whatever reason. Mr. Osorio was so easy to talk with and he was organized in what papers I needed and he represented the fees , etc. That was the positive. He did not get back to me after I called in , called his cell phone. I was getting very disappointed and anxious. He finally took a call and said can you bring in this and that paper ? I said yes and will see you than. That day I could sense they can't do this refinance and wondered why did he walk me down a path of acceptance if the outcome was denial. He took the papers and others I felt important he said oh that will just be in our best interest if we do the loan. I left knowing he was going to submit to underwriting, this is not the case of I don't understand the process , I own other properties. Again absolutely no contact. I thought ok three things :1. The credit report was a little low 2. Maybe a income is sure 3. Or more likely and I even ask him this point blank , is the problem because I am disabled with epilepsy?Anyways the fix to me or communication would be so way. A. Donn your credit scores are to low we can't do a loan B. Donn sorry I did send to underwriting after we spoke that day in the bank , and we can't do the loan. C. I don't think the bank would say it out loud , but chance the issue of my disability came into the process. All of the above was a simple phone call brief explanation and at least I take away information I need for a more positive outcome. Sad all the way around and a let down when I had to tell my wife the money I was going to take out for a new kitchen isn't working out :(Hope they are more up front with people about such a important decision during these difficult times. It's stressful as well thinking anything they did could hurt my credit or something else and make it difficult to pursue the refinance. I hope he and everyone at the bank well. Donn

Farmers is the best bank I've ever been too. I love being an account holder here. They make you feel like family. The tellers are always so friendly and actually care enough to ask you about your day and remember details about you to talk about the next time your in. I love that you can set up text messages every time you use your debit card to let you know the card was used. So many great services! Home loans, Childrens accounts (my kids loved going to the bank and starting their own account), trust departments, CD's, and so much more. I've been an account holder for 35 years and have never once had a bad experience here. Highly recommend this bank! Have had accounts all over, by far the best banking option! I feel like a VIP in their hands

I've been an account holder at Farmers & Merchants Bank for over 15 years. Overall the service has been adequate, but not exceptional. They fall short with their faulty ATM cards. Two cards in 2 years have failed electronically. Further, if you don't use the card for a period of time, let's say less than a year, either purchases or ATM, they assume, you don't need it and cancel it without notice, rather than send a letter of inquiry to update it. Worse...there is a very subtle lack of respect for women within the top ranks of the organization. Oh, they are professional enough with you. It's just that they will take hours of your time to solve a problem, and then conclude it with an unncessary letter, the language of which is subtly discrediting and discounting. Even then, when I brought it to their attention, I got short shrift as if they didn't grasp or had no recollecrtion of the issue. Yes, this from the senior VP's and higher, all of whom are men, such as Mr. Daniel Walker. I got a solid impression their actions would have been more respectful with their male customers. Just be prepared to be cut down to size.

Everyone that works in this bank will always greet you with a smile, they are courteous and friendly they are top notch and I will always recommend anyone looking for a new bank to head here, also the place is always spotlessly clean. A big thank you to Angel, who will always provide you with amazing advice, the tellers are always fast and efficient, absolutely amazing! 10/10 would bank again.

I received a promotion to open a new bank account with F&M. I knew of the bank but had never had an account there as I generally love my credit union, but I opened an accout for the promotion. Due to COVID-19 banking hours and many other things were thrown out of whack and I had to call to ask about the promotion deadline and details. I was surprised when the person I spoke to (Lamonte Lee) said he would research my question and call me back. He did call me back, like each week for 3 weeks until the promotion was paid into my account. When I finally went into the bank I met Mr. Lee and got his card - he was actually Vice President and Sr. Client Services Manager. I never thought someone higher up the corporate ladder would be taking the time to manage my small account, which I opened just for the promotion. Anyway, as far as banks go this is a great one. The bank app is pretty easy to use also. I never thought I would recommend a bank, but I recommend this one.

This Farmers and Merchants Bank is the only place you should go if you are a business owner in long beach! Let's first start off by saying if you want to be treated with efficiency and competency this is the bank for you. I opened up an account And received top notch service from Lynette Lebron and all bankers at the long beach branch. In these terrible times with the virus and small businesses struggling I know that Farmers and Merchants bank will stand behind me. They communicated with me on every level of my banking needs for my small business. The bank is secure with a security guard opening the door for you with a friendly smile. Also as soon as you walk in you are greeted with a kind hello, and how can they help you! Lynette and Dan the bankers at the branch were helpful in providing information advice about the Paycheck Protection Program and how to apply! I am grateful to their help, and opening my business account was one of the best decision I Have ever made for my businesses success! If I could give them 10 stars I would. I suggest that if you are a small business with a bank where you are just a number think about the importance of having a local strong bank at your side. Thank you Farmers & Merchants Bank!

We have been customers of F and M Bank for many years. The Bellflower branch is special to us. Celebrating our 50th year in business we understand the importance of having a quality banking relationship. David Sakamoto (another branch) has been a important partner over the years. Angel Sanchez is one of the primary reasons I am taking the time to send this 5 star review. He sits near the entry at the Bank. He is always good for a greeting of friendly smile. Angel has gone beyond the line many times to provide excellent advice and service. The staff in the bank is excellent, we actually look forward to our visits to the bank. Merchant tellers make a difference, the merchant tellers are top of the line. As a local business owner I recommend F and M Bank. Jim c

I'm considering closing my account with this bank. Sometimes they make it difficult to get your own money! For example today I came in with a check from Charles Schwab--a big financial corporation mind you--to cash the check. The bank manager said to deposit the check and they'll put a 2-day hold on the check because they were concerned Charles Schwab wouldn't pay out. What the F kind of explanation is this!!?? Charles Schwab aren't going broke any time soon. Second option suggested to me was to go to another bank and try to cash it. OMG I told them "You guys are my bank, and suggesting I go to a different bank to cash my check?" I told them to please call Schwab and confirm the check because this is ridiculous
